SAFETY BOOK
CONGRATULATIONS!
You have just purchased your WIKO TOMMY2 mobile phone.
A complete version of the guidelines, safety instructions and your device user guide is available on our website
www.wikomobile.com. You can request a printed version via email or printed letter at the address listed at the
end of the safety book.
Safety information
Please read this safety information carefully so that you
can use your phone in complete safety:
Listening through headphones for a prolonged
1.
period of time at full volume can result in damage to the
listener’s ears.To prevent causing hearing damage, do
not listen to sound or music through headphones (ear
buds, headset) at excessive volumes for long periods of
time. Exposure to high volumes while driving may cause
distraction and increase the risk of an accident.
2. Emergency call: Sometimes the emergency numbers
are not accessible on all mobile networks, check first
with your operator. The option to make emergency
phone calls depends on local laws and regulations
in place. Never rely on your mobile phone to make
important calls, such as in the event of a medical
emergency.
3. Do not use your mobile phone in certain locations
such as aircraft, hospitals, service stations and
professional garages.
4. Children. Be very careful. A portable device is not
designed for use by children. The phone contains
small parts that could be swallowed or cause choking.
5. Driving safety: It is forbidden to telephone when
driving. It is up to you to respect your country’s laws
and regulations for mobile telephone use when
driving. Having a telephone conversation or using the
other features of a mobile phone (text messaging,
internet, etc.) when driving may be a disctraction and
a contributing factor in serious accidents.
6. It is recommended to consult your doctor and the
device manufacturer to determine if your mobile phone
may interfere with your medical device.
Pacemaker Manufacturers recommended maintaining
a minimum distance of 15 cm between a pacemaker
and a wireless device to prevent any interference with
the pacemaker. If using a pacemaker, hold the mobile
phone on the opposite side of your pacemaker. If you
notice that your mobile phone is causing interference
with your pacemaker, turn off the mobile phone
immediatly your doctor for information what steps to
take. Respect the rules and regulations of the hospital
and medical centres. Do not use mobile phone in areas
where this is forbidden. Wireless equipment can affect
the performance of hearing aids and pacemakers.
For more information, contact your Internet or service
provider.
7. Fire hazard: Do not leave your device near heat
sources. Do not leave your device charging near
flammable materials.
8. Contact with liquid: Do not expose the device to liquid
or touch it with wet hands: any damage caused by water
may be irreparable.
9. Use only WIKO-approved in box accessories. The use
of unauthorised accessories may damage your phone
or cause a safety risk.
10. Batteries must be used with caution.
Do not attempt to disassemble the battery yourself.
Do not destroy the batteries and chargers. Never use
a battery or charger that has been damaged. Keep
batteries away from electronic objects.
You should not expose the batteries to very low or
very high temperatures (below 0°C or above 45°C).
It is recommended to recharge the battery at a room
temperature between 5°C and 25°C. To optimise battery
life, only use the WIKO battery and charger supplied in
the box. Incorrect use of the battery or replacement with
an incorrect type of battery may cause fire, explosion
or other risks. Dispose of used batteries according to
the instructions.
11. Electric shock: Do not try to dismantle your device as
there is a very real risk of electric shock.
12. Recharge your phone in a well ventilated area.
13. Do not use the mobile phone in an environment at too
high or too low temperature, never expose your mobile
phone to direct sunlight or too wet an environment. The
suitable temperature for the phone is -10°c to +45°c,
the maximum charging temperature declared by the
manufacturer is +40°c.
14. Due to the used enclosure material, the GSM mobile
phone should only be connected to a USB Interface of
version 2.0 or higher. The connection to so called power
USB is prohibited.
15. The socket-outlet should be near the equipment and
easily accessible.
16. This charger is for indoor use only, the charger type
is TN-050100E1A, output voltage/current is 5V/1A.
~ Directions for use
As a preventive measure, we recommend you use your
mobile telephone under optimal signal conditions.
This means when you have a full signal, as indicated
by the signal reception bar.
A hands-free kit can reduce radiation exposure.
Pregnant wowen shoul keep the mobile phone away
from their abdomen and teenagers should keep the
mobile phone away from their lower abdomen.
~ S pecific Absorption Rate "SAR"
Exposure to radio frequency
Your device has been designed and produced to
comply with international norms (ICNIRP) for
exposure to radiofrequencies. The safety instructions
related to exposure to radio frequencies use a
measuring unit called SAR (Specific Absorption Rate).
The SAR limit adopted by the European Directive
2014/53/EU is 2.0 W/ kg.
The highest reported SAR value for your device
when tested for use at the ear is 0.59 W/ kg, and
1.73 W/ kg when it is kept 0.5 cm from your body.
This device meets RF exposure guidelines when
used either in the normal use position against the
ear or when positioned at least 5 mm away from the
body. When a carry case, belt clip or holder is used
for bodyworn operation, it should not contain metal
and should position the product at least 5 mm away
from your body. In order to transmit data files or
messages, this device requires a quality connection to
the network. In some cases, transmission of data files
or messages may be delayed until such a connection
is available. Ensure the above separation distance
instructions are followed until the transmission is
completed.

~ FCC RF Exposure Information
This device meets the government’s requirements for
exposure to radio waves.
This device is designed and manufactured not to exceed
the emission limits for exposure to radio frequency
(RF) energy set by the Federal Communications
Commission of the U.S. Government.
The SAR limit of USA (FCC) is 1.6 W/kg averaged over
one gram of tissue. Device types TOMMY2 (FCC ID:
2AM86V3931AC) has also been tested against this
SAR limit.
The highest SAR value reported under this standard
during product certification for use at the ear is
1.24W/kg and when properly worn on the body is
1.33W/kg. This device was tested for typical bodyworn operations with the back of the handset kept
1.0cm from the body. To maintain compliance with
FCC RF exposure requirements, use accessories that
maintain a 1.0cm separation distance between the
user's body and the back of the handset. The use of
belt clips, holsters and similar accessories should not
contain metallic components in its assembly. The use
of accessories that do not satisfy these requirements
may not comply with FCC RF exposure requirements,
and should be avoided.
