Features Features of the Metal Detector include: C] A hand-held scanner to detect metal, (Figure 1) A three-piece handle assembly converts the hand—held scanner to a ground-sweeping metal detector, {Figure 2) A red LED to indicate power is on. {Figure 3) A green LED to indicate metal is detected. {Figure 3) IMPORTANT: Keep these instructions. DO NOT DISCARD. [3 (3 GOOD ODE] Requires I x 9 V (6LR61) battery. Only adults should install and replace batteries. Alkaline batteries are recommended for longer life. Do not use rechargeable batteries. ' Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged. Exhausted battery should be rentoved from the toy. Batteries should be inserted with the correct polarity. The supply terminals are not to be short-cirCUited. Only batteries ofthe same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used. Warning: Changes or modifications to this unit not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment. Ring t‘J Metal Detector Operation F'gure 4 To use the Metal Detector: I . ' ' ' 1. Pick up the Scanner pointing it parallel to the ground. 2. Locate the Sensitivity Dial. Using your thumb, turnthe dial in the direction marked "ON.” The red power light will illuminate. 3. Continue slowly turning the wheel with your thumb until the green ~ light turns on and ybu hear a beeping noise. Now rotate the Sensitivity Dial dial slightly in the opposite direction until the noise stops“ and the green light turns off. i 4. Once the sound is off, look to see where the notchon the Sensitivity Dial aligns with the arrow indicator. Now turn the dial one additional notch in the same direction.‘(Figure 4) 5. To verify the setting, place the Detector Ring olthe Scanner near a metal object. tithe Metal Detector beeps, then stops beeping when u—“H—IHandle pulled away. the unit is set and ready to be used. Arrow Indicator 6. The Sensitivity Dial may require occasional adjustment or re-setting clue to decreased battery power. Handle Assembly for Ground Unit (Figure 5) 1. Connect Tube 1 to Tube 2 by screwing them together. Tube 3 2. Screw the handle into the open end olTubei to complete the handle assembly. 3. Screw the Handle Assembly into the Connector Collar, positioning the handle as shown in Figure 5, 4. Twist the Connector Collar until the assembly is tight. Installing the Battery The Metal Detector requires one g-Volt battery. To install the battery: , _ . 1. Insert the new battery. Note the polarity requirements. 5.
