ADULTS: INSTALLING BATTERIES
1. Locate BATTERY DOOR on bottom rear of each
Walkle—Talkie. Use a small Phillips head screwdriver
to loosen screw. Remove battery door.
2. Snap a iresh, new battery onto each battery clip. (Fig, ll
IMPORTANT: Observe battery polarity (+ and -)
St Place each battery into battery compartment, making
sure wires and clip are tucked neatly inside.
4, Replace battery doors and tighten screws.
WALKIE-TALKIE OPERATION
1. Turn POWER SWtTCH on each Walkie—Talkie to the
ON position.
0 For best results, hold lront oi Walkre-Talkie 6 to l2 inches
from your face and speak slowly and clearty toward the
speaker/microphone holes on the front of the unit.
' For best results, point ANTENNA straight up. Do not
touch antenna while using.
2. Press and hold the TALK BUTTON to talk.
Trot When you are finished talking, sq, “OVER" so
the other Ranger knows it is his or her turn to talk.
3, Release the talk button and listen lor the reply.
NOTE: Only one person can talk at a time,
Tip: When you are finished with yourconversation. say
“OVER AND OUT" so the other Ranger knows you are
ending the conversation.
A. Always tum both power switches oft when not in use
to preserve battery power.
USING THE CALL BUTTON
While holding down the talk button, press the CALL BUTTON
to send a message alert so the other Ranger knows you want _

BATTERY SAFETY
1. Only adults should install and replace batteries. _
Do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries. ® 0
Remove dead or exhausted batteries.
Insert batteries correctly. Match positive and negative signs.
The supply terminals are not to be short olmuited.
Do not use rechargeable batteries.
Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or
rechargeable (nioketcadmium) batteries.
Do not mix old and new batteries.
Only the batteries of the same or equivalent type
recommended to be used,
