             70133 Ages 8 and Up  Spy Video Car™ Remote Control Video Car with Headset Video Feed!  Important: Please save this instruction sheet. It contains valuable product information.  Spy Gear Consumer Service is ready to assist you!  Call-outs:  On Car: •  Power On/off switch •  Night Vision Light on/off switch •  Adjustable video camera •  Night Vision Light •  Steering Alignment On Remote Control: •  Left / right toggle •  Forward / back toggle •  On/off switch On Headset video screen: •  Glasses •  Flip up video screen Remote wire   PREPARING TO DRIVE THE SPY VIDEO CAR  1.  ADULTS: Install the batteries in the Video Car and Remote (see below for directions). 2.  Turn on the Video Car using the POWER ON/OFF SWITCH located on the bottom of the car  3.  Use the ON/OFF SWITCH to turn on the remote control.  4.  Put on the GLASSES and flip the VIDEO SCREEN down over your right eye. 5.  Connect the REMOTE WIRE from the video screen to the remote.  DRIVING WITH THE REMOTE 1.  Use the FORWARD/BACK TOGGLE to drive the car forward and reverse.  2.  Use the LEFT/RIGHT TOGGLE to turn the car left and right.  NIGHT VISION OPERATIONS 1.  Turn on the NIGHT VISION LIGHT ON/OFF SWITCH located on the side of the ADJUSTABLE VIDEO CAMERA  2.  Drive the Spy Video Car into a dark place and the night vision light will allow you to see what the car sees on your glasses-mounted video screen.
3.   The video camera is adjustable up and down to give you a wider field of vision. Use this feature to look at the underside of your subject. Remember to adjust the camera before you send the Spy Video Car on a mission. 4.  Note: Just like the real night vision systems used by spies around the world, the Video Car night vision light is invisible to the human eye. True stealth technology! Note: Night vision has no effect in brightly lit areas. Your Spy Video Car will operate normally with the night vision light on in all lighting conditions.  TIPS AND TRICKS •  When Spy Video Car doesn’t run straight you can adjust the STEERING ALIGNMENT screw located on the upper body beneath the video camera. If the car turns to the right, turn the screw to the left and vice versa. •  The night vision function works best in dark conditions. In brightly lit locations the video screen may appear as a blank white screen. •  Always keep fully charged batteries in the car and remote. •  Spy Video Car will have a longer range if you hold the transmitter higher. •  Don’t drive Spy Video Car in sand or through water (even small puddles) or snow. •  To avoid damage to the camera or internal electronics, do not drive Spy Video Car off curbs or down stairs.  Don’t store Spy Video Car near heat or in direct sunlight. Always turn switches OFF and remove all batteries for storage.  TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE (laid out in table format) Spy Video Car won’t operate: •  Batteries are dead or have low charge. Always remember to turn off the power switch on the car and remote to save battery life when not in use. •  Batteries may not be installed correctly: Make sure battery direction (polarity, +/-) is correct. •  Power switch is off. Spy Video Car slows down or the video screen starts to fade: •  Batteries are dead or have low charge. Always remember to turn off the power switch on the car and remote to save battery life when not in use. No image on video screen: •  Make sure remote wire is connected to remote properly. •  Make sure power is on for both the car and remote. Spy Video Car will not travel in a straight line: •  Adjust steering alignment screw as outlined in Tips and Tricks above. Erratic operation, loss of control: •  Radio interference other R/C vehicles running on the same frequency, High-tension wires, large buildings, or CB radios: Move to another location. •  Weak Transmitter battery. Point antenna up in the air, not at vehicle. Don’t touch antenna.
SAFETY •  Warning! Use under the direct supervision of an adult. •  Never drive Spy Video Car on real streets •  Keep fingers, hair, and loose clothing away from the tires while the vehicle is switched on. With the Video Screen flipped down, your vision is impaired. Flip the screen UP when walking or moving. Never run while wearing the video glasses, especially in the dark.  BATTERY INFORMATION The Spy Video Car uses 12 AA (6 for the car and 6 for the remote) batteries, not included.  ATTENTION ADULTS: TO REPLACE BATTERIES 1.  Use a small Phillips head screwdriver to loosen the screws on the battery compartment of both the car and the remote. The screws will not fall out. 2.  Open battery cover. Remove exhausted batteries. 3.  Place new batteries in compartment as shown in Fig. 1 and 2. 4.  Replace the battery cover and tighten screw.  BATTERY SAFETY INFORMATION •  Requires 12 AA batteries •  Only adults should install and replace batteries. •  Do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries. •  Remove dead or exhausted batteries. •  Insert batteries correctly. Match positive and negative signs. •  The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.  •  Do not use rechargeable batteries. •  Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries. •  Do not mix old and new batteries. •  Only the batteries of the same or equivalent type recommended to be used. •  Do not dispose batteries in a fire; they may explode. •  Dispose of batteries safely.
