The Mute icon light will pulse while muted. Tap again to unmute. Input Bluetooth® Mute Volume Up/Down Pairing: The Bluetooth® icon will pluse blue while pairing Paired: The Bluetooth® icon will remain solid blue when paired Microphones Input You may cycle through the input source by tapping the input button. The input icon changes color based on the input you select. Auxiliary 3.5: Green light USB: Magenta light Power Bluetooth® Turbo TAKE CONTROL Controls Volume Down/Up Control the volume + or —. Volume level will affect your battery life. Our laboratory tests have measured approximate battery life for the following: * 6 hours @ TURBO Mode * 16 hours @ medium level * 20+ hours @ low level We do not recommend running the battery to end of life. Please follow the voice prompts for recharging. TURBO TURBO mode gives your music that extra BOOST! Tap the TURBO button to engage, increasing both volume and EQ for unique audio output. Add a few more revs to your TURBO by tapping the Volume + button. Tap the TURBO button again to go back to normal listening levels. Note: TURBO mode will reduce your battery life. Microphones For Teleconferencing Pair your phone or other Bluetooth® devices to the Turbo X to enjoy the crystal clear teleconferencing delivered by the dual noise and echo canceling microphones. Please do not cover or stick anything (toothpicks, q-tips, spaghetti sauce, etc.) in the two microphone openings. Doing so will void your warranty. HOOK UPS Inputs / Outputs Use the I/O cover, located on the bottom of your Turbo X, to protect the I/Os from the elements and moisture when enjoying your Turbo outdoors. AUXILLARY USB / DATA BATTERY ON/OFF CHARGE OUT 19V DC BATTERY INDEX HOOK UPS Inputs / Outputs Auxiliary 3.5 Input Charge Out A 3.5 mm cable is included to connect your non-Bluetooth® playing devices. Plug your phone or tablet in using a compatible cord to give an extra boost from the Turbo X’s powerful battery. The Battery On/Off switch must be ON to charge out. USB Data Input 19V DC Power Adapter Input For highest quality audio input, use this for digital audio signals directly from your computer or other USB source. Use this with the provided external power supply to charge the RIVA Turbo. Use of any other non-approved power adapter may damage the electronics and will void the warranty. Battery On/Off Switch Control battery power functions. Switch OFF to conserve battery, especially when you will separated from your Turbo for an extended period of time. Switch the Battery On/Off switch to On 2. Turbo X is partially charged out of the box so use the provided power adapter to charge to 100% before using. The Battery icon LED will appear green and a voice prompt will announce when the battery is fully charged. 3. Power On: Tap the Power button to turn ON 4. Once paired, you can begin playing. • To pair a new device, hold down the Bluetooth® button to discover your device. The Bluetooth® icon will pluse blue when pairing and stay solid once paired. Discov erable ooth RIVA GROUND CONTROL Turbo Mobile App. Download the RIVA Ground Control App for free from the App Store or Google Play™. • Control all of the features on your Turbo X right on your phone or tablet for iOS or Android™! • Select a black or white app skin. • Select male or female voice prompts or disable voice prompts. If you choose to disable the male/female voice prompts, these will be replaced with audible beep prompts. • RIVA is constantly developing software with the latest technologies to improve your Turbo experience. Please see the Play Safe page for more information. ® CALL ME Speakerphone • Outbound Call • • If your device is connected to the Turbo X via Bluetooth®, • the Turbo X will switch to the Speakerphone setting once you place your call. • Incoming Call • Turbo X will auto-switch to the speakerphone setting when • you phone rings. • You may choose from your phone to take the call privately, • • via speakerphone, or decline the call. • Decline/End Call • When you decline or end the call, Turbo X will go back to your previous setting that was used before the call. • For Best Clarity • For best clarity, speak directly toward the Turbo X unit. • Do not obstruct or cover the microphone openings. CHARGE OUT Charge your Phone / Tablet • Charge your phone or tablet by connecting your USB cable into the Turbo X. • Make sure that the Battery On/Off switch is in the ON position. • Turbo X can charge your device when it has over 30% battery power, the battery icon LED will be green or orange. DOUBLE UP Stereo / Repeater ® Want more out of your Turbo X listening experience? In the Settings section of the Ground Control App select stereo or repeater mode to pair up two Turbo X units. Stereo Plays left and right channel so you can expand the listening field. ® Repeater Each speaker will play both left and right channels simultaneously. Turbo works within published Bluetooth® range. H s u p p o r t. ri vaaudi o . co m/Turbo - X Q Troubleshooting Q: Why is there no power to the Turbo? • Check to see if your AC adapter is plugged in. • Make sure the battery icon LED is not red, indicating the Turbo has less than 30% battery power left. Turbo will only charge your device if it has more than 30% battery power remaining. Q: I plugged in my phone/tablet to charge through my Turbo, but it’s not charging • Check to see if the battery power switch is in the ON position. • Make sure the battery icon LED is not red. Turbo will only charge if it has more than 30% battery power remaining, a red battery icon LED means the Turbo has less than 30% of battery power left. Q: I wave my hand over the Turbo and nothing happens • Proximity sensing works between 1 to 2 inches (25 - 50 mm) from the top cover of Turbo. • Check to see if the battery power switch is in the ON position. Q Troubleshooting Q: It shows Turbo X is paired on my phone/tablet, but I can’t hear anything. • • • • • Make sure the music is playing on the device. Make sure RIVA Turbo X is selected as the playing device. Make sure Turbo is not muted. Increase volume level. Make sure the Bluetooth® input is selected. Q: I don’t like the current voice prompts, what can I do? Turbo has three prompt settings: male voice, female voice, and audible beeps. To switch, go to the Settings page in the RIVA Ground Control App to make your selection. If you choose to disable the male/female voice prompts, these will be replaced with audible beep prompts. Disposal & Recycling Instructions • This product must be disposed of according to local laws and regulations once it comes to the end of its life. A new battery directive 2006/66/EC on Battery and Accumulator replacing directive entered into force on the 26th September 2008. The directive sets out rules for collection, treatment, recycling and disposal of batteries, and aims to prohibit certain hazardous substances and to improve environmental performance of batteries and all operations in the supply chain. PLAY SAFE Safety Guidelines Your Turbo X is designed and manufactured to operate within defined design limits, and misuse may result in electrical shock or fire. To prevent your Turbo from being damaged, the following rules should be observed for the installation, use, and maintenance. Please read the following safety instructions before operating your Turbo. Keep these instructions in a safe place for future reference and heed all warnings. DO NOT... • Use the Turbo near water or pour water/other liquids on the unit. • Drag sharp objects across any surface. • • Submerge your Turbo X in any liquid. Install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat. • Leave in the sun for extended periods. • Puncture, throw, kick/punt, shred, crush, step on, microwave, light on fire, or toss your Turbo X in the dishwasher. • Insert foreign objects into your Turbo X. • Leave or store the Turbo or any of its accessories over or near your car’s airbag. Serious injury may result if the airbag deploys. • • • • • • Place the Turbo on high surfaces where the speaker may shift or fall off the edge. Leave a battery on prolonged charge when not in use. Charge the battery in damp places. Block ventilation openings. Allow the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus. Disassemble, paint, or blanket in stickers. • Place in low or freezing temperatures. • Use the included cords in the Turbo X packaging for any other purpose other than their intended one. • Defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two bladed and a third grounded prong. The wide blade or the third prong are provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for the replacement of the obsolete outlet. • Try to replace the Turbo X Battery. CAUTION CARE • Use only the manufacture supplied power • Do not clean your Turbo while it is charging because this could result supply and accessories with your Turbo X. • Only charge your Turbo X according to the instructions provided by the RIVA team in this and online manuals. • Do not dispose of the Turbo or its battery in a fire. Doing so could cause the battery to explode causing injury or death. • Listening to music at high volume over extended periods of time may damage your hearing. The maximum volume levels achievable with Riva speakers may exceed safe levels for extended listening.
