The introduction of Intel PPC (Tablet PC)
Intel PPC is the one which can really replace a portable computer.
You can connect all kinds of accessories, printers, and network as usual. Run the touch
application and your favorite Windows 8 program, and it is as security and easier to be
managed as PC.

Software
Intel PPC comes with a lot of built-in applications -----in your "start" screen, you can
see the magnet of the application. You can install more applications from Windows
applications store.
WiFi & Bluetooth
Intel PPC supports standard wi-fi protocol (802.11b/g/n) and Bluetooth 4.0 ®. This
means that you can connect a wireless network, and use Bluetooth devices (for
example, keyboard, mouse, printer, and earphones).
Sensor
Intel PPC has two sensors (ambient light sensor, dynamic sensing), you can use
them to complete the outstanding functions.
Setting the Intel PPC
Before we start, make sure that the wireless network is available and you have a network
password (if the protected network).

Power on and start
1. Plug the Intel PPC in the keyboard socket.
2. Plug the power cable to the wall socket or the patch panel
3. Connect the power connector to the charging interface of Intel PPC.
4. Press and release the power button (upright side).The Intel PPC will be enabled to
start and set.
Basic knowledge
You need to know the following information related with the Intel PCC
Touch, keyboard and the mouse
Using Intel PPC, you can easily switch between touching, keyboard and mouse.
Touch: like intelligent mobile phone, you can use your fingers to perform the touch
screen operation. Such as: drag the finger on the screen to scroll.
Keyboard: connecting auxiliary keyboard or use full size USB or Bluetooth keyboard.
Mouse: use the matching keyboard touchpad or connect with the USB or Bluetooth
mouse.
The Start screen
[Start] is like the Intel PPC heart, and you can open the application here to see your best
friend's new information.
Turn to the Start screen
[Start] is like the Intel PPC heart, and you can open the application here to see your best
friend's new information, and visit your favorite website.
"Start" screen interface indicates the relative information, such as new email and new date
on the calendar.
Turn to the Start screen:
Touch: Touch or press the part below the touch screen, or slightly touch and
move from the right edge of the screen to the left, then click "start".
Keyboard: push the Windows instructions key on the keyboard.
Mouse: click the "start" button on the left corner of the screen

Open the applications
Touch or mouse: click or click once the application magnet on the "start" screen.

Super button
No matter which position of the equipment you are in, you can complete one of the most
common operations, such as search and sharing, print, and change the Settings by the
Super button. You can open Super button through the following ways:
Touch: Slightly slide from the right edge of the screen to the right, and then click the super
button you need.
The mouse: Move the mouse pointer to the right upper corner or the right lower corner,
then move the pointer upwards or downwards, and then press super button.

The familiar desktop
After introduce all the new content, here are you familiar with the content.
Windows Desktop (including taskbar, folders and icons) remain, including new taskbar and
simplify document management.
To go to the desktop, perform the following actions:
Touch: click on the "start" screen "desktop" (this is a magnet).
Mouse: click the "start" button to screen the bottom left corner.
Keyboard: press Windows instructions +D.
Desktop is you run the Office desktop applications, such as using the console or document
the location of the resource manager.
If you want to open a console and other Settings: right-click on the screen the bottom left of
the "start" button .

Search
No matter which position in the equipment, super button ( +S)
can complete most common operations, such as searching, sharing,
printing, and change the Settings. You can open through the
following ways:
Share
In the application, you can use the "share" ( +H) to share files,
pictures, or web page.
Start
Use the "start" button ( ) that can turn to the "start" screen. Or if
you have been in the "start" on the screen, the application allows
you to enter the last use.
Equipment
Using the "equipment" ( +K) can play, projection and print to
the device.
Setting：
Use the "Settings" ( +I) can change Intel tablet Settings, or if
you are in the application, you can enter the application Settings.

Search
The search is the new searching method.
The Start Menu
In Windows 8.1, The "start" screen replaces the "start" menu screen.
From "start" screen, you can start any applications or programs. To
access the items on the previous "start" button, please click the start
button on the left lower corner of the "start" button.
Shutdown or restart
Open the "Settings" super button, click "power", and then select the
"shutdown" or "restart".
Console (change
Settings)
"Console" is still available, but many Settings are in the PC Settings.
Printing
There is no change to print form the desktop. If you want to print from
Windows application store, open equipment, and then select to print.
Close the application
There is no change to close the application from the desktop. If you
want to close the application from Windows application store, drag
the application out of the screen bottom.
Check all the
applications and
program
If you want to check all the applications, slide from the middle of the
start screen upwards.
The installing of the
application and
program
Windows 8 with brand new app store called Windows app store.
Change the date and
time
Open the setting, click “change the PC Setting> Time and Language.”

Lock screen and login
Microsoft account, lock screen interface and "Start" screen and other personal settings can
follow you to the other devices. Your favorite websites, browser history, and a fixed website
also can follow your moves.
If you do not use Intel PPC for a few minutes, the screen is closed and locked. After locking
the screen, press any key (or press and release the power button), then slide upward on
the touch screen. Then type the password and log in the account.
Now we come to set up your e-mail and other accounts.
Getting Started
Now that you understand the basic knowledge, we will connect the networking and add
accounts.
Connect Network
Network connection methods as following:
1. Open the "Settings" super button (slide from the right edge of the screen to the left and
click "Settings").
2. Click the wireless network icon.
3. Click the network with which you want to connect, and then click "Connect."
Set up email
Now we start to set up your e-mail. You can add Outlook.com, Gmail, AOL, Yahoo! and
Exchange e-mail account to the "Mail" application.
Note that the "Mail" application does not support the use of POP (Post Office Protocol)
account.
Follow the below operations to add an e-mail account:
1. Click “Mail" on the "Start" screen.
2. Open the "Settings", and then click "Account"> "Add Account."
3. Select the type of account you want to add, and then follow the onscreen instructions.
Contacts: Add a contact
"Contacts" application is your general address book. You can check all the contacts in the
address book; understand the updating of your best friends. You can also synchronize your
concern social network contacts, for example, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. Directly
send mails, make phone calls or release information to contact others from the "contacts"
application.
The following method is to add account contact:

1. Click on the "contact" on the "start" screen.
2. Open the "Settings", click the "account" > "add account".
3. Select the account type you want to add, and then follow the screen instructions.

Power supply: Boot, shutdown, standby and restart
The following is an overview of Intel PPC power status:

Press and release the power button.
If there is no response, Intel PPC may need to charge. Connect the power
adapter, and then press the power button again.
Shutdown

Open the "Settings", click the "power" > "Shutdown".
Intel PPC: you can also hold down the power button for 2 seconds, and
then slide gently down on the screen.
Sleep
Close the keyboard, press and release the power button, or don’t use the
Intel PPC for a few minutes.
Restart
Open the "Settings" super button, click the "power" > "restart".
Charging
Intel PPC has the built-in lithium battery, and allows you to carry with it. Battery life varies,
depending on your Intel tablet usage and the power supply current plan.
Insert the power cord to a power outlet or patch panel. Then the power connector is
connected to the charging interface.
Intel PPC light is on when power supply is connected.
Touch screen
Multi-touch screen with a 16:9 aspect ratio, which is very suitable for watching
high-definition video and application of multitasking operating together.
Like using an intelligent mobile phone, you can interact with the PPC by touching the
screen.

The screen keyboard
Intel PPC calculator has a screen touch keyboard to be displayed only when it is needed.
1. Click the screen to input the position of the text, then the screen keyboard will be
displayed.
2. If on the desktop, click the desktop keyboard icon in your task tray (bottom right) to
open the screen keyboard.
If you want to manually open the screen keyboard (type the content location without a click),
please do the following:
Open the "Settings" super button, click the "keyboard" > "touch keyboard and the
handwriting panel".
If you want to close the screen keyboard on Intel PPC, do the following: click the area
where the text cannot be input or click the keyboard button , then close the keyboard
button.
A physical keyboard
The keyboard can be inserted to the Intel PPC by a rotation shaft.
Put the two closing, and insert the PPC into the keyboard rotation shaft; after the
connection, the keyboard stay in original position, move the press button on the left
Side of the axis to the right, and the PPC can be easily separated from the keyboard by
pulling.

Close the keyboard
When you close the keyboard, the screen will close, and the Intel PPC will also enter the
sleep state.
Touch pad
Keyboard includes a touchpad similar to the mouse. Same as a portable computer, you
can move the pointer on the screen by dragging your fingers on the touch pad. If want to
click, then click on touch pad (mouse the left key click) once.
The sound function
Intel PPC calculator has two stereo speakers and the earphone jack, which can be used to
listen to music or watch movies. When you make a phone call or video recording, you can
easily use the built-in microphone.
Using the application
Find and open the application
You can start the application on the "start" screen, just like using the Windows "start"
button.
Intel tablet can run two applications:
Windows app store for example music, email, and weather.
Desktop applications for example note pad and office applications.
If you're looking for Intel tablet application or program, please operate as the following:
Application view: gently slide upward from the middle of the "start" screen (or click the
"start" on the lower left corner of the screen). Application list will be displayed. Type the
name or scroll to see all applications.
Use the search: open the "search" super button, and then type the application name, such
as "email".
If you did not find the application or program you need, you should search within the
Windows application store.
You can also start the desktop application from the desktop. You can create a shortcut for
a desktop application, or the fix the common applications in the taskbar on desktop.
Switching between the opened applications
If you want the application to be displayed in full screen, you can quickly switch between
the opened applications. Operation method is as follows:

Switch to previous application
Touch: slightly slide from the left edge of the screen to the right light.
Mouse: move the mouse pointer to the left upper corner of the screen, and then click.
Keyboard: Press Alt + Tab
Switch to a specific application
Touch: Slightly slide from left edge of the screen to the right, and the finger stays on the
screen at the same time, and then back to the left edge. Click the required application.
Mouse: moves the mouse pointer to the upper left corner, then move down vertically. You
will see the most recently used applications. Click the required application.
Keyboard: press the Alt key. And repeat press the Tab key to switch applications. When
you go to the required application, and then let it go.
Using the application at the same time (side by side)
You can use two applications side by side. So you can see two applications on the screen
at once (such as email and calendar application).
Using two applications together and the method is as follows
1. Open each application that you want to use.
2. Open the list of recently used applications (from the left edge of the screen to the right
light, keep your finger stays on the screen at the same time, then move backward to
the left edge.)
3. Don’t stop dragging an application from the application list, until the dimension of the
current application changed, and then loosen the application.
4. If you want to adjust the size of the application, please drag the vertical bar between
applications.
If you want to change one of the applications, then go to "start" or "application" view, and
then click an application.
It will display over the first two applications. Click the right side of the left edge of the
screen.
Close the application
You don't need to close the application of the Windows application store. When you switch
to other applications, Windows will run in the background to keep the original application,
and finally to shut it down when you aren't using.
You can also close the application of Windows app store through the following way:
Touch: slightly slide from the upper edge to the lower edge on the screen, and drag the
application down outside of the screen.

Mouse: move the pointer to the top of the application, when the pointer becomes a hand
shape, click and drag the application down outside of the screen.
The application command
If you want to find out how to operate the application, you can open the application
command. The following is the operation method:
1. Open an application, and then any performs the following operations:
Touch: slightly slide from the lower edge of the screen up or down from the screen edge.
Mouse or touch pad: click the right key. You can also click twice in the touchpad at any
position.
Keyboard: Press the + Z.
2. One option on the command line.
Application Settings and help
In the application Settings: open the "Settings" super button from the application. For
example,
Open the "mail" application, then open the "Settings" super button-- you will see the
"mail" application Settings.
Application help: open the "Settings" from the application super button, and find the
"instructions".
Install the application
You can explore various powerful application and games in Windows application store.
You can browse the application by grouping or by category, such as "recommended" and
"hot". If you already know the one you want to find, you can use the "search".
Your account
Before installing the application from the Windows app store, you need to use Microsoft
account to log in.
Access to the application
When you want to install more applications or games, just turn to Windows app store.
Note: you need to connect to the Internet and use Microsoft account to log in, and then you
can install the application.
Delete the application
If you do not use an application, it can be removed. The following is operation method:

1. Go to "start" screen, and then lightly slide upward from the middle of the screen.
2. Press down the application you are trying to remove for a few seconds.
3. Click "remove". If the application is a desktop application, please select the application
from the list, and then click "discharge
Reinstall the application
You can reinstall your purchased application or game, do not need to pay again (as long as
the Windows app store provides.)
Application update
Publishers sometimes will update its application to add new functions and repair some
problems. Windows app store can automatically install the updating the application during
the updating.
The installation program from the Internet, CD or network
You can also install the application or program from the CD/DVD, website or network.
Personalized Settings of the Intel PPC
Add the account
If you haven't added E-mail or social networking account, please refer to the introductory
section of this guide.
Personalized Settings of the "start" screen
You can change the color of the "start" screen and background. Operation method is as
follows：
On the "start" screen, open the "Settings" super button, and then click the "personalized
Settings".
Change the lock screen interface
The lock screen interface can include pictures, slides and application notice, such as your
next calendar date. The following is the method to change the lock screen interface
Settings: Open the "Settings" super button, click the "change computer Settings" >
"computer and equipment" > "lock screen interface.
Notice
You can know whether there is a new email, news, calendar events, status updates and

Add language
By adding a language, you can change on Windows, application and Web the language
used for speaking, reading and writing.
The desktop background, color and sound
If you want to change the desktop background, color and sound, please do the following:
Open the setting Super button from the desktop, and then click or click the "personalized
Settings". Choose a topic or change the desktop background, color and sound one by one.
Choose the screen after login
By default, login to the Intel PPC will see after the "start" screen. However you can also
enter the desktop or the application view.
Connecting devices
Connecting with USB mouse, printers and other accessories
Intel PPC has a full size USB 3.0 port, which can be used to connect the matching devices
such as a printer, camera, music player, phone, a mouse, or even external hard drives.
Using the mouse
You can use the touch pad on the keyboard cover, or add a USB or Bluetooth mouse.

Add Bluetooth devices
You can use the following methods to add Bluetooth devices on the Surface PPC (also
known as matching):
1. Enable the Bluetooth device, then the set it as the detected

equipment" > "Bluetooth".
3. Ensure that Bluetooth is enabled, and then wait for Windows to search the Bluetooth
devices.
4. Follow the screen instructions to complete the equipment matching.
Add, delete, and manage devices and printers

Connect to TV, monitor or projector
You can watch the movies on a big screen by connecting the Intel PPC to the TV set, or
connecting to a projector up to share the Powerpoint, or connect to another monitor to
show the running multiple applications..
Network
Intel PPC with built-in wi-fi can be used to connect to the Internet. After networking, you can
browse the Internet, get the application, send E-mails, and visit other computers and other
equipment in the computers network.
Connecting to the wireless network
1. Open the "Settings" super button, and then click or click the wireless network icon .
2. Click or click a wireless network which can be connected.
3. Click or click "connect". Input your network security keys (network password) after you
see the cue note, then click or click "next".
4. Choose whether you want to connect to other computers and other equipment within
the network. If you are in public places (such as a coffee shop), and you want to
connect to the Internet, please select "no".
Disconnect the wireless network connection.

Built-in application
Intel PPC has many built-in applications
Camera
Intel PPC has two cameras: you can use the front-facing camera for Skype, use the rear
camera to record the meetings and activities. When Intel PPC is placed on the table by
using the first kind of one-piece support position, the front-facing camera should point to
the right forward.

Music
You can use "music" application to play the collected music
1. On the "start" screen, click or click the "music". After see the cue note, log in by using
Microsoft account.
2. Click on the left side, or click the "collection".
3. Check your collections according to "album", "artist" or "song". Or use the "search"
to find what you want to play.
4. Select a song or album, and then click, or click the play button
Photo
You can use the "photos" application to view the photos on the Intel PPC and on the
SkyDrive
If you want to see your photos, please go to "start" screen, and then open the "photos"
application.
The pictures in the photos folder will be displayed in the photos "applications. If you want to
view the" slide show "and" selection "command, please slightly slide down from the upper
edge of the screen.
Video
You can use the "video" application to watch the video on the Intel PPC。
1. On the "start" screen, click the "video"
2. Scroll to the left to view video.
3. Click the video to play the video.
