DTX502 Version 1.3 The Owner’s Manual bundled with your DTX502 covers version 1.00 of the firmware. This firmware has now been upgraded to version 1.3, which adds several new functions. The corresponding additions and changes to the bundled Owner’s Manual are described below. To check your DTX502’s firmware version: While holding down the [SHIFT] button, turn on the drum module. Current firmware version Support for the DT50S/DT50K (Drum Trigger) (pages 13, 66, 68, and 71 of Owner’s Manual) New layer functionality (page 57 of Owner’s Manual) Three- and four-layer settings are now supported (with snare instruments only). Input Exchange for trigger setting is now supported. New Copy function by each two piezos has been added for Copy Trigger. Examples • 3Layer1 The voice for snare A* (Head, OpenRim, or ClosedRim) produces a sound at velocities between 1 and 50; the voice for snare B* (Head, OpenRim, or ClosedRim) produces a sound at velocities between 51 and 110; and the voice for snare(off) A (Head, OpenRim, or ClosedRim) produces a sound at velocities between 111 and 127. Please choose the correct setting for your product. Change in data saving procedure (page 25 of Owner’s Manual) NOTE • When using three or four layers, an “off” setting for the Snares parameter on the KitC6 page will be ignored. If this parameter’s setting is changed, the snare(off) input sources will also be affected. The timing for writing of backup data to flash ROM when saving data has been changed. This data is now saved when song recording is stopped; when kit, metronome, or trigger settings are saved, and when KitJob tasks are executed. • Refer to page 20 of the Owner’s Manual for more information on instruments, and to page 29 for more information on input sources. Fine-tuning of trigger sensitivity The sensitivity parameters for Trigger input jacks !0, !1, and !2 input have been fine tuned.
