HD-300 Firmware Update Guide EN Thank you for using a Yamaha product. This document explains how to update the firmware of the HD-300. NOTICE • • • • • • • This updater is to be used at the user’s own risk. DO NOT power off or disconnect the cable from the product during the updating process. The HD-300 may be damaged. DO NOT remove the USB flash drive from the product during the updating process. The HD-300 and the USB flash drive may become inoperable. If the update fails, and the HD-300 still does not operate correctly even after you execute the update once again, please contact your Yamaha dealer. This firmware and documentation are the exclusive copyrights of Yamaha Corporation. HD-300 Firmware Update Guide 1 This folder contains the following files: • hd-300_en_update_guide_v***.pdf This document (PDF file) • hd-300_ja_update_guide_v***.pdf Update guide Japanese version (PDF file) • HD-300_instdat.bin The update program Required Items • ZIP format file required for firmware update • USB flash drive formatted to FAT32 The files required for firmware update can be downloaded from the website below. Also, please check the URL below for a list of supported USB flash drives. http://download.yamaha.com * After selecting your country and clicking on “Firmware/Software Updates” for the ZIP for file or “Documents and Data” for a list of supported drives from the “Support” page, set the “Brass & Woodwinds” on the product category and enter “HD-300” to perform a search. Checking the Current Version Press the "Settings" button on the main unit and select "Firmware Version:" with the cursor button to display the version. "Firm version: v*.**" indicates the current version of the firmware. Updating Procedure 1. 2. 1. Download the compressed (ZIP format) file on your computer, right-click and execute "Extract All". When the file is unzipped, the folder will be displayed. Open this folder and look for the firmware update file "HD-300_instdat.bin". HD-300 Firmware Update Guide 2 3. 4. 5. 6. Move the file "HD-300_instdat.bin" to the top directory of the USB flash memory. Make sure to turn the power off (the Standby/On switch is set to the Standby position,) and then connect the USB flash drive to the [USB TO DEVICE] terminal on the rear panel. Hold down the [START/STOP] button, and then turn the power on by pressing the Standby/On switch. Press the [+] button to start the update process. This process takes a few minutes. 7. When the update process is completed, following message will appear. 8. Turn the power off and remove the USB flash drive. 9. Turn the power on and check the version of the firmware.
