Servicing the vehicle When servicing (i.e. changing the oil, washing your car) your automobile, theMAGICARsystem should be in Valet Mode. There is a safety shutdown switchunder the hood that deactivates the remote starter function if the hood is open.However, if the switch has been damaged or the switch has been installedimproperly, the vehicle may start when the button is pressed for 2 secondseven if the hood is open. 2. Loaning your vehicle to othersWhenever you loan your vehicle to an individual who is not familiar withMAGICAR, please put the vehicle in Valet mode. This will prevent the vehicleloaner from accidentally activating the MAGICAR auto-security system. 3. For manual transmission vehiclesIf the MAGICAR2WSHR LED is installed in a manual transmission vehicle, extraprecautions are required because the system does not monitor the gear shift.Important! Under normal circumstances, Reservation Mode is cancelled when a door orhatchback opens. Please verify if the opening of any door or hatchback cancelsReservation Mode. If any of the doors or hatchback are not monitored byMAGICARbecause of improper installation or a faulty dome light switch, do notuse the MAGICARand take your vehicle to the dealer immediately for repair. Do not set Reservation Mode when the window(s) are open or if there is anyoneinside of the vehicle including animals. The MAGICARsystem will allow up to three remotes to be programmed to onevehicle. Please perform the following procedure to add or reprogram additionalremotes.Step1 : Activate Valet/Programming mode by manually turning the ignition on and off five times(between Acc and On)with car key within a 7 second period.The parking lights will flash once with successful completion of this step.Step2 : Within a 7 second period after cycling the ignition for the 5th time,press the button . The car parking lights will flash once to confirm that thetransmitter has been programmed. Continue program the additional remotes.The parking lights will flash two times when the programming mode is expired.You can arm by pressing the button for a 1/2 second.You can disarm by pressing the button for a 1/2 second.Press buttons for a 1/2second to make your car siren mute whenarming or disarming your vehicle. Keep in mind that your car siren will stillactivate for all other modes (i.e. panic, alarm, shock sensor) regardless ofwhether or not your car siren is in mute mode. The car siren will be mute onlywhen arming or disarming your vehicle. In alarm mode, the starter killfunction (this maybe an optional feature provided by your installer) isactivated. This feature disengages the starter mechanism on your car thatprevents you from starting your car even with a manual key when your vehicle s alarm mode is activated.6Alarm ModeRemote-Pager Learn Routine( + )5It a button is pressed, the LED Icon will be flashed rapidly. Also, if the signalwas sent successfully, the remote will beep and the LED icon will flash. 8Trunk ReleasePress the button for 2 seconds in order to unlock and release your trunkdoor. Note that the trunk release function will not only release the trunk but willunlock all the doors as well.Query Function allows you to visually monitor the status of your car by lookingat the remote-pager LED icons. Press buttons + for a 2 second to activate the Query Function.Press the button for 2 seconds to enter Panic Mode. In this mode, the carwill arm if not armed already and the siren will activate and the parking lights willflash. In order to disengage Panic Mode, press the button for a 1/2 second. Then, press the button for a 1/2 second to lock/arm your vehicle.If Anti-Jacking option has been programmed (ask your dealer if youlike to have this option) and the Ignition-Kill has is been installed , thePanic Mode works as Anti-Jacking if the key is in the ignition. If Anti-Jacking mode is activated while key is in the ignition ;a)Siren will go off for 1.5 minutes, and b) Ignition-Kill will be activatedafter the first 30 seconds. That is to give warning to the hijacker for thefirst 30 seconds and then to disconnect the ignition to stop the vehicle.Query FunctionPanic ModeDual Stage Shock Sensor 7Press buttons + for 2 seconds to activate or deactivate the dual stageshock sensor. The dual stage shock sensor will activate 30 seconds after theMAGICAR alarm is armed. When the dual shock sensor is engaged, theremote-pager security alerts will be triggered by the following:Light impact to your vehicle will activate the first stage shock sensorand the car siren will chirp 4 times in addition to the parking lights flashing 4 times. remote pager unit will beep and the icon flashes rapidly.Heavy impact to your vehicle will activate the second stage shocksensorand the car siren will sound for 30 to 60 seconds and the parking lights will flash for 30 to 60 seconds. The remote-pager will beepBoth sound & Icon rapidly.Press the button for a 1/2 second to turn off the second stage shock sensor sirens and flashing lights. Note : If you lose your remote after you have armed the vehicle, use yourkey to open the vehicle. The siren will go off. Turn on and off ignition 5times with your key to shut off the siren and turn the system into valetmode. Cancel the valet mode with remote later. See Valet mode.Note : (Siren duration is 30 to 60 sec depending on the options set at thetime of initial installation.)
The only feature that operates in valet mode is the keyless entry function. Valet Mode is very useful when loaning your vehicle or having it serviced.In order to enter Valet mode, press Buttons ( + ) simultaneously for a 1/2 second. In order to manually enter Valet Mode, insert your car key into the ignition and turn the ignition on and off (between ACC and ON) five times within 7 secondsYou can exit Valet Mode only by pressing buttons ( + )simultaneously for a 1/2 second. Valet Mode9Safety Shut Down FeaturesMAGICAR2WSHR LED system has several shut down safety features. The following actions will shut down the engine or prevent the car from auto-starting: Opening the engine hood, Pressing the brake or Valet mode is turned on. The optional RPS is a feature that allows an individual to page the owner of a vehicle by simply tapping on the front windshield of the car. RPS is automaticallyturned on upon activating alarm mode (pressing the button for a 1/2 second)on the MAGICAR2WSHR LED,The RPS module can be activated by tapping a manual key producing ahigh-frequency vibration. This high-frequency vibration is detected and yourremote-pager will beep and all of the icons will flash.RPS (Remote Paging System)OPTIONAL PROGRAMMABLE FEATURESThese additional programmable features can be programmed to the MAGICARsystem by your authorized MAGICARdealer. Passive Arming 10You can turn this function on or off by pressing the buttons (+)for a 1/2 second. When set to passive arming, your security system will armautomatically 30 seconds after all the doors are closed. There are two types of passive arming that can be programmed by your MAGICAR dealership: (1) passive arming with passive lock and (2) passive arming with active lock.Passive locking means the door will lock when the system passively arms. In the default factory setting, the system is armed and locked actively, whichmeans the system will only arm/lock when the remote-pager is utilized.Note :1. If you select both Auto Arming and Passive Arming, Auto Armingtakes priority over Passive Arming.2. If you select Passive Arming with Active Lock in the programming option, you are also selecting Auto Arming without Auto Lock. Consult your installer. Ignition LockThis programmable option enables your vehicle to automatically lock the doorswhen the brake pedal is pressed after starting the vehicle with a key. In addition, the vehicle will automatically unlock the doors upon pulling the keyout from the ignition. However, if the emergency brake wire was installed, thevehicle will unlock upon the emergency brake is set if the engine is still runningwith the key. This option must be chosen at the time of installation.
