When it is ON,it receives and transmits RF energy. When you communicate with yourdevice, the system handling your call controls the power level at whichyour device transmits.
Specific Absorption Rate (SAR)Your mobile device is a radio transmitter and receiver. It is designed notto exceed the limits for exposure to radio waves recommended byinternational guidelines. These guidelines were developed by the indep endentscientific organization ICNIRP and include safety margins designed toassure the protection of all persons, regardless of age and health. The guidelines use a unit of measurement known as Specific AbsorptionRate, or SAR. The SAR limit for mo bile devices is 2 W/kg and the highestSAR value for this device was 1.14 W/kg. As mobile devices offer a rangeof functions, they can be used in other positions, such as on the body asdescribed in this user guide**.As SAR is measured utilizing the device's hig hest transmitting power, theactual SAR of this device while operating is typically below that indicatedabove. This is due to automatic changes to the power level of the deviceto ensure it only uses the minimum power required to communicate withthe network.* The tests are carried out in accordance with EN 62311, EN 62209-1,
IEC 62209-2.** Please see body worn operation. This mobile tablet meets the government’s requirements for exposure toradio waves. This tablet is designed and manufactured not to ex ceed the emissionlimits for exposure to radio frequency (RF) energy set by the FederalCommunications Commission of the U.S. Government. The exposure standard for wireless mobile devices employs a unit ofmeasurement known as the Specific Absorption Ra te, or SAR. TheSAR limit set by the FCC is 1.6W/kg. *Tests for SAR are conductedusing standard operating positions accepted by the FCC with the devicetransmitting at its highest certified power level in all tested frequencybands. Although the SAR is determined at the highest certified powerlevel, the actual SAR level of the device while operating can be wellbelow the maximum value. This is because the device is designed tooperate at multiple power levels so as to use only the poser required to
reach the network. In general, the closer you are to a wireless basestation antenna, the lower the power output. The highest SAR value for the model device as reported to the FCCwhen worn on the body, as described in this user guide, is 1.15 W/kg(Body-worn measurements differ among device models, depending uponavailable accessories and FCC requirements.)While there may be differences between the SAR levels of variousdevices and at various positions, they all meet the governmentrequirement. The FCC has granted an Equipment Authorization for this model devicewith all reported SAR levels evaluated as in compliance with the FCC RFexposure guidelines. SAR information on this model device is on filewith the FCC and can be found under the Display Grant section ofwww.fcc.gov/oet/ea/fccid after searching on FCC ID: Q78-V71A.
For body worn operation, this device has been tested and meets the FCCRF exposure guidelines for use with an accessory that contains no metaland the positions the handset a minimum of 0 cm from the body. Use ofother accessories may not ensure compliance with FCC RF exposureguidelines. If you do not use a body -worn accessory and are notholding the device at the ear, position the h andset a minimum of 0 cmfrom your body when the device is switched on.FCC Regulations:This mobile device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operationis subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not causeharmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interferencereceived, including interference that may cause undesired operation.This mobile device has been tested and found to comply with the limits
for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rule s. Theselimits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmfulinterference in a residential installation . This equipment generates, usesand can radiated radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used inaccordance with the instructi ons, may cause harmful interference to radiocommunications. However, there is no guarantee that interference willnot occur in a particular installation If this equipment does cause harmfulinterference to radio or television reception, which can be deter mined byturning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correctthe interference by one or more of the following measures:-Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.-Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.-Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that towhich the receiver is connected.-Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the partyresponsible for compliance could void the user‘s authority to operate the
equipment.-The antenna(s) used for this transmitter must not be co -located oroperating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter .NOTE:THE MANUFACTURER IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYRADIO OR TV INTERFERENCE CAUSED BY UNAUTHORIZEDMODIFICATIONS TO THIS EQUIPMENT. SUCH MODIFICATIONSCOULD VOID THE USER’S AUTHORITY TO OPERATE THEEQUIPMENT.Body-worn OperationImportant safety information regarding radio frequency radi ation (RF)exposure:Failure to observe these instructions could result in your RF exposureexceeding the relevant guideline limits.
Limiting Exposure to Radio Frequency (RF) FieldsFor individuals concerned about limiting their exposure to RF fields, theWorld Health Organization (WHO) provides the following advice:Precautionary measures: Present scientific information does not indicatethe need for any special precautions for the use of mobil e devices. Ifindividuals are concerned, they might choose to limit their own or theirchildren’s RF exposure by limiting the length of calls, or using‘hands-free’ devices to keep mobile devices away from the head andbody.Further information on this sub ject can be obtained online from the WHOfact sheet N°193 at http://www.who.int/mediacentre/factsheets/fs193/en/Regulatory InformationThe following approvals and notices apply in specific regions as noted. Please find the Declaration of RoHS Compliance, and EC Declaration ofConformity in Appendix.
DistractionDrivingFull attention must be given to driving at all times in order to reduce therisk of an accident. Using a mobile device while driving (even with a handsfree kit) can cause distraction and lead to an accident.
