1. For Your Safety
General Care
Your handset contains delicate electronic circuitry, magnets and battery systems. You
should treat it with care and give particular attention to the following points:
Do not allow the handset, battery or accessories to come into contact with liquids
or moisture at any time. Do not immerse it in any liquid.
Do not place the handset alongside computer disks, credit cards, travel cards or
other magnetic media. The information contained on the disks or cards may be
affected by the handset.
Do not paint the handset.
Do not leave the handset or battery in places where the temperature could
exceed 140 ˚F, e.g. on a car dashboard or a windowsill, behind glass in direct
sunlight, etc.
Do not remove the handset battery while the handset is switched on.
Take care not to allow metal objects, such as coins or key rings, to contact or
short circuit the battery terminals.
Do not dispose of batteries in fire. The handset’s Li-ION batteries may be safely
disposed of at a Li-ION recycling point. Follow local requirements for recycling.
Do not put the handset’s battery in your mouth, as battery electrolytes may be
toxic if swallowed.

Do not disassemble or open crush, bend or deform, puncture, or shred.
Do not modify or remanufacture, attempt to insert foreign objects into the battery,
immerse or expose to water or other liquids, expose to fire, explosion or other
hazard.
Only use the battery for the system for which it is specified.
Only use the battery with a charging system that has been qualified with the
system per this standard. Use of an unqualified battery or charger may present a
risk of fire, explosion, leakage, or other hazard.
Do not short circuit a battery or allow metallic conductive objects to contact
battery terminals.
Replace the battery only with another battery that has been qualified with the
system per this standard, IEEE-Std-1725-2006. Use of an unqualified battery may
present a risk of fire, explosion, leakage or other hazard.
Promptly dispose of used batteries in accordance with local regulations.
Battery usage by children should be supervised.
Avoid dropping the phone or battery. If the phone or battery is dropped, especially
on a hard surface, and the user suspects damage, take it to a service center for
inspection.
Improper battery use may result in a fire, explosion, or other hazard.
The phone shall only be connected to products that bear the USB-IF logo or have
completed the USB-IF compliance program.
Do not put a battery into a microwave oven, dryer or high-pressure container.

Do not contact battery directly into an electric outlet or cigarette lighter charger.
Use only authorized chargers.
Do not puncture the battery with a sharp object such as a needle.
When the battery is disposed, be sure it is non-conducting by applying vinyl tape
to the (+) and (-) terminals.
Do not drop, throw, or subject the handset to rough treatment.
Stop using the battery if abnormal heat, odor, discoloration, deformation, or
abnormal condition is detected during use, charge or storage.
Do not use your handset with a damaged or deformed battery.
Do not solder the battery directly.
Remove the battery whose life cycle has expired from equipment immediately.
The earpiece may become warm during normal use. Also, the handset itself may
become warm while the battery is being charged.
When a handset is in vibration mode, the vibration may cause the handset to
move.
Be careful not to place the handset near heat sources (such as a heater).
Use a damp or anti-static cloth to clean the handset. Do not use an ordinary dry
cloth or electrostatic cloth. Do not use chemical or abrasive cleaners as these
could damage the casing.
Third party equipment: The use of third party equipment, cables, or accessories,
not made or authorized by ZTE, may invalidate the warranty of your phone and
also adversely affect the phone’s safety and operation.

Remember to make backup copies of all important data on your handset.
Remember to recycle: The cardboard packing supplied with this handset is ideal
for recycling.
Warnings: In the unlikely event of a battery leak, take care to keep the battery discharge
away from your eyes and skin. If the leakage does come into contact with the eyes or
skin, flush thoroughly with clean water and consult with a doctor.
Aircraft Safety
Switch off your phone or activate the airplane mode when inside or near an aircraft.
Use of handsets in an aircraft may be dangerous to the operation of the aircraft
and may disrupt the cellular network. Failure to observe this instruction may lead
to suspension or denial of phone service to the offender, or legal action, or both.
Airplane mode allows you to use many of your phone’s features, such as games,
calculator, voice memos, and many others when you are in an airplane or other
area where wireless signals may cause interference. In the airplane mode, you
are prohibited from making or receiving calls.
Hospital Safety
Switch off your phone and remove its battery in areas where handset use is prohibited.
Follow the instructions given by any respective medical facility regarding the use of
cellular handsets on their premises.

General Guidelines
Many jurisdictions have laws and regulations about taking pictures in public or
private areas regarding the processing and further use of such pictures. ZTE
encourages its customers to obey all laws and to honor the personal rights of
others.
Check the roaming agreement availability with your network operator.
The use of mobile phones is not allowed in some radiation sensitive areas, such as
hospitals, research centers, and airplanes. The user is responsible for powering-
off the device. If there is any uncertainty, the battery should be removed.
Observe any signs that indicate powering off your handset, such as those near gas
stations or explosives.
If you have a heart condition, be careful with the setting of call vibration or tone
volume. This phone is capable of producing loud noises which may damage your
hearing. Turn down the volume before using headphones, Bluetooth stereo
headsets or other audio devices.
Do not allow children to play with the handset, charger or batteries.
The operation of some medical electronic devices, such as hearing aids and
pacemakers, may be affected if a handset is used next to them. Observe any
caution signs and the manufacturer’s recommendations.
Take care not to put your phone in the back pocket of your pants and then sit on
the phone. Also, do not put your phone at the bottom of a bag where it may be
subject to excessive weight or pressure as this may damage the LCD and camera
lens and cause them to malfunction.

The phone contains metal and may cause a reaction for overly sensitive skin types.
Do not leave the phone discharged or without a battery for a long period of time.
Otherwise some data may be erased.
Road Safety
You must exercise proper control of your vehicle at all times. Give your full
attention to driving.
Observe all of the recommendations contained in your local traffic safety
documentation.
Pull off the road and park before making or answering a call, if driving conditions
require so. Check if local laws and/or regulations restrict the use of cellular phones
while driving.
You must not stop on the hard shoulder of a motorway to answer or make a call,
except in emergency situations.
Switch off your handset at a refueling point, such as a gas station, even if you are
not refueling your own car.
Do not store or carry flammable or explosive materials in the same compartment
as the handset.
Electronic systems in a vehicle, such as anti-lock brakes, speed control and fuel
injection systems are not normally affected by radio transmissions. The
manufacturer of such equipment may advise if it is adequately shielded from radio
transmissions. If you suspect vehicle problems caused by the radio transmitter in

the handset, consult your dealer and do not switch on the handset until your
handset has been checked by a qualified technician.
Vehicles Equipped with an Airbag
An airbag inflates with great force. Do not place objects, including either installed or
portable wireless equipment, in the area over the airbag or in the airbag deployment
area. If in-vehicle wireless equipment is improperly installed and the airbag inflates,
serious injury could result.
Third Party Equipment
The use of third party equipment, cables or accessories, not made or authorized by ZTE,
may invalidate the warranty of the handset and also adversely affect the handset’s
operation. For example, use only the ZTE charger supplied with the handset.
Efficient Use
For optimum performance with minimum power consumption, do not cover the antenna
area (It’s on the bottom of your phone.) with your hand. Covering the antenna affects
the call quality, may cause the handset to operate at higher power levels than needed,
and may shorten talk and standby times.
Radio Frequency (RF) Energy
This model phone meets the government’s requirements for exposure to radio
waves.

This phone is designed and manufactured not to exceed the emission limits for
exposure to radio frequency (RF) energy set by the Federal Communications
Commission of the U.S. Government:
The exposure standard for wireless mobile phones employs a unit of measurement
known as the Specific Absorption Rate, or SAR. The SAR limit set by the FCC is
1.6 W/kg. *Tests for SAR are conducted using standard operating positions
accepted by the FCC with the phone transmitting at its highest certified power level
in all tested frequency bands. Although the SAR is determined at the highest
certified power level, the actual SAR level of the phone while operating can be well
below the maximum value. This is because the phone is designed to operate at
multiple power levels so as to use only the poser required to reach the network. In
general, the closer you are to a wireless base station antenna, the lower the power
output.
The highest SAR value for the model phone as reported to the FCC when tested for
use at the ear is 1.52 W/kg and when worn on the body, as described in this user
guide, is 0.901 W/kg (Body-worn measurements differ among phone models,
depending upon available enhancements and FCC requirements.)
While there may be differences between the SAR levels of various phones and at
various positions, they all meet the government requirement.
The FCC has granted an Equipment Authorization for this model phone with all
reported SAR levels evaluated as in compliance with the FCC RF exposure
guidelines. SAR information on this model phone is on file with the FCC and can be

For body worn operation, this phone has been tested and meets the FCC RF
exposure guidelines for use with an accessory that contains no metal and the
positions the handset a minimum of 1.5 cm from the body. Use of other
enhancements may not ensure compliance with FCC RF exposure guidelines. If
you do not use a body-worn accessory and are not holding the phone at the ear,
position the handset a minimum of 1.5 cm from your body when the phone is
switched on.
Emergency Services
To make an emergency call in any country:
1. Ensure your handset is ON and in service.
2. Press the End Key as many times as needed to clear the display and ready the
device for calls.
3. Enter a local emergency number, i.e., 911.
4. Press the Send Key to dial the number. Follow instructions received and do not
end the call until told to do so.
Note: Tell the operator which service you require: Police, Ambulance, Fire Engine,
Coastguard or Mountain Rescue Service. Give your position, and if possible, remain
stationary and maintain contact. Due to the nature of the cellular system, the connection

of emergency calls cannot be guaranteed. You should never rely on any wireless device
for essential communication such as medical emergencies.
FCC Compliance
This device complies with part 15 of the FCC rules. Operation is subject to the
condition that this device does not cause harmful interference.
This device has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B
digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to
provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential
installation. This equipment generates uses and can radiate radio frequency
energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may
cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no
guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation If this
equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which
can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to
try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:
Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the
receiver is connected.
Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.
Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for
compliance could void the user‘s authority to operate the equipment.

Use Your Phone with a Hearing Aid Device
Your F350 device is compliant with the FCC and IC Hearing Aid Compatibility (HAC)
requirements.
When some wireless phones are used near some hearing devices (hearing aids and
cochlear implants), users may detect a buzzing, humming, or whining noise. Some
hearing devices are more immune than others to this interference noise, and phones
also vary in the amount of interference they generate. The wireless telephone
industry has developed ratings for some of their mobile phones to assist hearing-
device users in finding phones that may be compatible with their hearing devices. Not
all phones have been rated. Phones that have been rated have a label on the box.
Your F350 has been tested for hearing aid device compatibility. Your F350 has been
tested for hearing aid device compatibility and has an M4 and/or T3 rating.
These ratings are not guaranteed. Results will vary, depending on the level of
immunity of your hearing device and the degree of your hearing loss. If your hearing
device happens to be vulnerable to interference, you may not be able to use a rated
phone successfully. Trying out the phone with your hearing device is the best way to
evaluate it for your personal needs.
M-Ratings: Phones rated M3 or M4 meet FCC requirements and are likely to
generate less interference with hearing devices than phones that are not labeled. M4
is the better/higher of the two ratings. T-Ratings: Phones rated T3 or T4 meet FCC
requirements and are likely to be more usable with a hearing device’s telecoil (“T

Switch” or “Telephone Switch”) than unrated phones. T4 is the better/higher of the
two ratings. (Note that not all hearing devices contain telecoils.) The more immune
your hearing aid device is, the less likely you are to experience interference noise
from your wireless phone. Hearing aid devices should have ratings similar to those of
phones. Ask your hearing health-care professional for the rating of your hearing aid.
Hearing devices may also be measured for immunity to this type of interference. Your
hearing device manufacturer or hearing health professional may help you find results
for your hearing device. The more immune your hearing aid is, the less likely you are
to experience interference noise from wireless devices.

compatible wireless devices and other steps the FCC has taken to ensure that
individuals with disabilities have access to telecommunications services, please go to
www.fcc.gov/cgb/dro.
Turn on the HAC Setting
When the HAC setting is on, your F350 sends the audio from your phone calls to the
telecoil rather than to the microphone of your hearing aid. You are likely to hear calls
much better because volume is increased and background noise and feedback are
diminished. The HAC setting improves only the calls you listen to through the
earpiece. Turn off the Bluetooth function. It does not affect calls heard on the
speakerphone or with a headset. HAC requires extra battery power, so watch your
battery consumption when it's turned on.

CAUTION: Do not turn on the HAC setting unless you use a hearing aid with a
telecoil. Using this setting without a hearing aid or with a hearing aid without a
telecoil may be harmful to your hearing.

2. Introduction
Overview
Thank you for purchasing the ZTE F350 Mobile Phone. F350 is capable of making
voice calls and data connections to CDMA 1x networks. This phone provides many
functions which are practical for daily use, including a digital camera, Mobile Camera,
Media Center and Voice Command, etc.
To guarantee this mobile phone is always in its best condition, read this manual
carefully and keep it for future reference. To ensure your safety, read Section 1 - For
Your Safety thoroughly before using this handset for the first time.

Key Definitions
Left Soft Key – Execute prompts that appear in the lower-left
corner of the screen, directly above the button. These prompts
change according to the screen content. This key is also a short
cut to “Message” from the idle screen.
Right Soft Key – Execute prompts that appear in the lower-right
corner of the screen, directly above the button. These prompts
change according to the screen content. This key is also a short
cut to “Contacts” from the idle screen.
Send Key – Make and answer calls. This key is also a short cut
to “All Calls” from the idle screen.
End Key – End calls and close applications. Holding this key for a
while in the idle screen will power off the handset.
Camera Key – Press this key to launch the camera in standby
mode.
Volume Up/Volume Down Keys – Adjust the master volume in
standby mode and the earpiece volume during a call.

Directional Keys(Up, Down, Left, Right) – These keys (up,
down, left and right) allow for navigation through menu options
and quick access to some function menus in standby mode:
Mobile Web(Up), My Verizon (Left), My Shortcuts (Right) and
Calendar (Down). You can also change the quick access of the
directional keys.
OK Key – Confirm actions and make selections. This key also
executes prompts that appear on the lower-middle button on the
screen, above the key. These prompts change according to
screen content.

Alphanumeric Keys –
These keys are used for entering
numbers and letters, dialing a speed call, and selecting options
while navigating through menus. Hold the 1 key for a while in
standby mode to launch Voice Mail.
* and # Keys – These keys have different functions, depending
on the mode or function menu. Hold the # key for a while in
standby mode to turn on/off vibration mode. Hold the * key for a
while in standby mode to add the international calling code ‘+’.
CLR/Voice Commands Key – Delete characters during text
entry. Press the key to return to the previous page during menu
navigation. Press and hold the key in standby mode to launch
Voice Commands.

The user interface is constituted of three parts. They are the icon area, the text and

3. Getting Started With Your Phone
This chapter outlines the steps required to set up your phone, power-on and activate
on your service provider’s network. Follow the procedure below step-by-step to get
started.
Battery
Please switch off your phone and disconnect the charger with it before removing the
battery. Avoid touching electronic components on the battery and battery compartment
of the phone.
Install the Battery

1. Make sure the + and – terminals on the battery be lined up with the metallic points
in the battery compartment.
2. Insert battery to the plastic retainer clip and push down on the bottom section of
the battery until it clicks into place. It should be aligned with the bottom of the
phone.
3. Place the battery cover so that it covers the entire battery. Close the cover and
lock it into position. Make sure the battery cover is secure.
Charge the Battery
Your phone is powered by a rechargeable battery. The battery is not fully charged
when you purchase your phone, but there may be enough power in the battery to turn
the phone on. Charge the battery with the procedure indicated below.
Note: For maximum battery performance, it is recommended that you completely
charge the battery before using the phone for the first time. A new battery’s full
performance is achieved only after three complete charge and discharge cycles.

1. Pull the rubber USB cover out of the USB port and move it out of the way.
2. Insert the charger’s USB adapter into the USB port. Ensure that the adapter is
inserted with the correct orientation. Do not force the connector into the USB port.
Note: Make sure you plug the AC charger into a standard AC outlet box when you
begin charging the battery.

Remove the Battery
If you need to remove your phone’s battery, please follow the procedure indicated below:
1. Press the button on the top of the phone and lift off the back cover.
2. Insert your fingernail into the slot on the bottom of the battery. Lift the bottom of
the battery away from the handset.
3. Remove the battery from the battery compartment.

Power On/Off Your Phone
To power on the phone, press and hold the End key for at least 3 seconds. If the
handset lock code has been activated, the phone will prompt to enter the code. The
default password for an inactivated phone is 0000. Once you have activated your
handset, the default lock code will be the last 4 digits of your phone number.
It is also possible that the lock code has been updated by the user. If the updated lock
code is lost or forgotten, please contact your service provider.
To power off the phone, press and hold the End key for at least 3 seconds from the
idle screen.
Warning: Do not power the phone on when wireless phone use is prohibited, or when
it may cause interference or danger.
Lock/Unlock the Keypad
To prevent accidental pressing of keys, F350 is equipped with the key guard lock
feature.
To lock the keypad, slide the phone closed.
To unlock the keypad, press the Right Soft key [Unlock] and then press the OK key;
or slide the phone open.

When the phone is closed, Auto Key Lock feature can lock the keypad automatically
when the backlight goes off.
To access Auto Key Lock feature, press Menu→Settings & Tools→Phone
Settings→Auto Key Lock.
Connect to the Network
After your phone is unlocked, it will automatically search for the network.
Activate Your Phone
Before placing a call with your new phone, you must activate the phone on the network.
To activate the phone, dial provisioning number from the idle screen and follow the
step-by-step instructions. Once the display indicates that programming is successful,
please restart the handset. You may then place a call with your handset.

4. Basic Operations
Make Voice Calls
Use the Keypad
1. Enter a phone number including the full area code by using the numeric keypad. If
an incorrect character is entered, use the CLR key to delete the digit. Pressing the
CLR key for a while will erase all digits.
2. Press the Send key to make the voice call.
3. Press the End key to end the call, or to cancel the call attempt.
Note: To make an emergency call, enter the emergency number and press the Send
key. If possible, remain stationary and keep the line connected.
Use the Contacts List
You can also make a call by choosing a record from your Contacts. To place a call
from the contact list:
1. Choose Menu→Contacts→Contact List to display your contact list.
2. Scroll to the desired entry and press the Send key to make a call.

Use the Last Number Dialed
Your phone can redial the last number dialed. To dial the last number:
1. Press the Send key from the standby mode.
2. Press the Send key again to dial the first entry.
Use the Number from the Call History
Generally, all calls you have made or received are saved in a list on the phone.
You may use the Send key as a short cut key to “All Calls” from the idle screen.
All numbers are grouped into Missed Calls, Received Calls, and Dialed Calls. To dial a
number from your call history:
1. Select Menu→Recent Calls from the standby mode.
2. Navigate through the menu and press the OK key to select Missed, Received or
Dialed calls.
3. Select the phone number you want to dial from the list and press the Send key to
place the call.

Use Speed Dials
Your phone is capable of storing nine Speed Dial numbers that can be quickly dialed
from standby mode. Among the nine digit buttons, the 1 is assigned to Voice Mail
function. To use the Speed Dialing feature:
1. Press and hold the number key for the Speed Dial entry you would like to call.
2. The call will be connected automatically.
3. Press the End key to end the call, or to cancel the call attempt.
Note: If you have not already assigned a Speed Dial to the selected key, the phone
will prompt that no Speed Dial has been assigned. You may select Yes to add a
Speed Dial immediately. For more information on creating Speed Dials, please refer
to the section Contacts-Speed Dials in this manual.
Answer Voice Calls
When you receive a call, the ring tone, illumination, or vibration function will be
activated, depending on your current settings. If you subscribe to call display and the
Caller ID function has been activated by the caller, the caller’s phone number/or
name/or picture if applicable will be displayed. If the calling party use the service
hiding their phone number, your phone will show that the phone number has been
withheld.
To answer the call, press the Send key. You can disconnect the call by pressing the
End key.

Note: You can also enable the phone to answer calls automatically, or by sliding the
phone open, or by pressing any key on the keypad. The default setting can be
changed in Menu→Settings & Tools→Call Settings→Answer Options.
If your phone is connected to a compatible Bluetooth headset, you can answer or end
the call by pressing the Send/End key on the Bluetooth headset.
In-Call Features
Volume
During a call, you can adjust the earpiece volume by pressing the volume keys on the
side of the phone.
Mute
You can mute your voice during the call by pressing Mute, located on the right soft
key. Pressing Unmute will allow the caller to hear your voice again.
Speakerphone
Your phone has a speakerphone function that allows you to talk hands-free with the
use of the phone’s speaker. To use speakerphone, press the Speaker key after the
call has been connected. Press the Speaker key again to return to the standard call
mode.

To enter the advanced in-call features, press the Options during a call. The following
will be available:
4. Call The Third Party: Call another number to activate three-way call feature.
5. Messaging: Switch to the message interface during the call.
6. Contacts: Switch to the contacts interface during the call.
7. Switch to Phone/Bluetooth Headset: Switch to Phone/Bluetooth headset to
answer the call.
Three-Way Call
Your phone has a three-way calling feature, which enables you to have conference
calls with two parties. You can activate this function by following the procedure below:
1. Once a voice call has been established with Party A, press the Options and select
Call The Third Party.
2. The dialing window will appear. Enter the phone number of Party B and press
Send key.
3. When the Party B answers the call, you will be connected with Party B only. Party
A will remain on hold.
4. To activate the three-way call, press the Send key again. You will be able to
converse with both parties simultaneously.

5. Press the Send key again to end the call with the Party B. You may press the End
key to end both calls.
Call Waiting
Your phone can accept phone calls while another call is active. You can manage the
phone’s call waiting feature as follows:
1. If you receive a call during an active conversation, the phone will prompt that there
is an incoming call and allow you to accept or reject the call.
2. Press the Send key to accept the call.
3. After accepting the call, you will be connected with the second caller, while the first
party is put on hold. You may switch between callers by pressing the Send key
again, or by selecting Options→Swap.
4. Press the End key to disconnect from the active caller.
Note: When the End key is pressed, both the active and holding user will be disconnected.
If the holding user remains on the call, your phone will ring again. You may accept or
reject the call.
Note: The three-way calling and call waiting feature requires network support and
may result in additional charges. Contact your service provider for more information.

During text entry, you can press the Left Soft key to select the input mode. The

Word mode allows you to input messages or text quickly with the built-in predictive
dictionary by using your keypad.
1. To write a desired word, begin entering letters with the keys ‘a’ to ‘z’.
2. After the entire word or part of the word has been entered, you can press ‘0’ key to
change to other matching words in the predictive dictionary.

3. At any time, you may press the # key to complete a word and insert a space.
Alphabetic Mode
In Alphabetic mode, the alphanumeric keys from 2 to 9 are used to enter letters and
numbers. You can enter the letters among the letters displayed on the keypad by
pressing the keypad once and once again, and wait for a while until the underline of
the entering letter disappears, the letter will be entered successfully. Take the ‘2’ key
for example:
There are letters “abc” on the keypad.
So press the ‘2’ key once to enter the letter “a”, twice to enter the letter “b”, three times
to enter the letter “c” and four times to enter number “2”, then continue pressing to
start a new loop of “a” to “2”.
Note: Standard input mode is just the same as Alphabetic mode. But when composing
sentences, the first letter of the new sentence will be capitalized automatically in
standard input mode.
Number Mode
In Number mode, use alphanumeric keys from 0 to 9 to enter the number. You can
only enter the number directly shown on the keypad. The letters can’t be entered in
this mode.

During text entry, you can press the Left Soft key and select Symbols to enter the
symbols.
During TXT message entry, you can press the Left Soft key and select Quick Text to
add pre-stored quick texts.

6. Contacts
This menu allows you to save and manage contact information containing phone
number, E-mail address, ringtone, picture and many other fields. To enter the contact
list from standby mode, select Menu→Contacts.
Note: To quickly access the contact list, press the Right Soft key [Contacts] in the
standby mode.
New Contact
The New Contact menu allows you to add a new contact record.
1. Select New Contact, enter the name and press the Down key to highlight other
fields.
2. Enter the information and press the OK key to save.
3. Press the CLR key to delete the previous character during text editing or exit
from the New Contact interface.
Note: You may enter any of the contact information above. However, the name and a
phone number, an E-mail address, IM or address must be entered in order to save the
contact.

Contact List
Select Contact List to view the list of all contacts stored on your phone. You may use
the Up/Down key to scroll up or down the list, and press the OK key to view the
desired contact information. Press the Left Soft key to edit the highlighted contact.
When a contact is highlighted, pressing Options will display the following pop-up
menu:
1. New Contact: Add a new contact.
2. Erase: Erase the contact.
3. New TXT Message: Send a text message to the contact.
4. New Picture Message: Send a picture message to the contact.
5. New Voice Message: Send a voice message to the contact.
6. Set As ICE Contact: Set the contact as a ICE (In Case of Emergency) contact.
7. Call: Make a call to the contact. You can also press the Send key to make the call.
8. Manage Contacts: You can mark the contacts in the list to erase, lock and unlock
them. The locked contacts cannot be erased.
9. Send Via Bluetooth: Send the contact record via Bluetooth to another Bluetooth
compatible device.

Tips: You may also use the Go To field to search for a contact from the Contact List.
Type the name of the desired contact in the Go To field. The phone will automatically
scroll to the name that most closely matches your input.
Backup Assistant
Backup Assistant safeguards your mobile phone's address book and automatically
saves a copy of the names, phone numbers, and email addresses stored in your
phone. You can also view, print, add, delete, and edit your contacts online.
If you lose, damage, or upgrade your phone, Backup Assistant will restore your
contact list to a new or replacement phone.
Note: Additional fees may apply.
Groups
The Groups menu allows you to add contacts to the groups. You can add, rename o
r delete the groups. You can also send a message to every contact in the selected
group.
To view a group, use the Directional key to highlight a group and press the OK
key.
To add a new group, press the Left Soft key and enter the new group name.

To add contacts to a new group, select a group, press the OK key twice and you
can mark the desired contacts, then press the Left Soft key to finish.
Press the Right Soft key to display the pop-up options menu. You can send
New TXT message, New Picture Message or New Voice Message to all
members in the highlighted group, Rename or Erase Group, or Add contacts to
the group.
Tips: You may also use the Go To field to search for a group in the group list. Type
the name of the desired group in the Go To field. The phone will automatically scroll to
the name that most closely matches your input.
Speed Dials
The Speed Dials menu allows you to view the current list of speed dials and add new
entries. Use the Up/Down key to navigate to a desired speed dial number.
For speed dial numbers that are already assigned, click View to see the contact
information and the phone number. You may also select Remove to remove the
contact from the speed dials list.
Adding a new speed dial:
1. Navigate to an unassigned speed dial number and press SET.

2. The contact list will be displayed. Navigate to the desired contact and press the
OK key to add the contact to the speed dial list. Press the OK key again to
confirm the setting.
In Case of Emergency
This menu allows you to store names, phone numbers and other information, which
may be very helpful in case of emergency. It also allows you to add, read, edit, or
erase Personal Info (in the form of Notes) which may also be useful in cases of
emergencies.
Adding an ICE Contact:
1. Use the Up/Down key to select Contact 1, 2, or 3, and then press ADD.
2. Select From Contacts to add contacts from your contact list, or
3. Select New Contact to add a new contact as the ICE Contact.
Select an ICE Contact, press Call to make a voice call to the contact and press
Options→Re-assign/Unassign to reassign or unassign the ICE Contact.
Adding the ICE Personal Info:
1. Select Personal Info and press the OK key.
2. Choose the Note entry and press ADD.
3. Enter the helpful information for emergency and then press SAVE.

My Name Card
This menu allows you to add your personal contact information including name, phone
number, E-mail, etc. as a name card.
Press EDIT to enter your personal contact information.
Press Options to display the pop-up menu, and you can send your name card
via TXT Message, Picture Message, Bluetooth or Voice Message.

7. Messaging
Your phone is able to send and receive text message, picture message and voice
message. To enter the messaging interface from standby mode, select Menu→
Messaging.
New Message
How to Send a Text Message
1. Select Menu→Messaging→New Message→TXT Message to edit the
message.
2. In the To field, you can enter the phone number or the email address of the
recipient for an email message.
3. Press the Down key, and you can enter the message in the Text filed.
4. Press the OK key to send the message.
Note: Up to 10 recipient addresses can be entered for one message.
Editing the To field
In the To field, press the Right Soft key to display the pop-up menu:
From Contacts: Add the recipient from the contact list.

How to Send a Picture Message
1. Select Menu→Messaging→New Message→Picture Message to edit the
message.

2. In the To field, you can enter the phone number or the email address of the
recipient for an email message.
3. Press the Down key, and you can enter the message in the Text filed.
4. Press the Down key to highlight Picture field, press the Left Soft key to select
a picture from My Pictures folder, and then press the OK key to add a picture.
5. Press the Down key to highlight Sound field, press the Left Soft key to select a
picture from My Sounds folder or record a new sound, and then press the OK
key to add a sound record.
6. Press the Down key to highlight Name Card field, press the Left Soft key to
select a name card from the contact list or select My Name Card, and then
press the OK key to add a name card.
7. Press the Down key to highlight Subject field, and you can enter the subject.
8. Press the OK key to send the message.

How to Send a Voice Message
1. Select Menu→Messaging→New Message→Voice Message.
2. Press the OK key to start the recording and press the OK key again to end it.

4. Press the Down key to highlight and edit the other fields: Sound, Text, Name
Card and Subject.

Inbox
The Inbox folder contains all of your received messages. From this folder you can
review your received messages, reply or forward messages to another recipient. To
access the inbox from the standby mode, select Menu→Messaging→Inbox.
Reading a Message
1. Use the Up/Down keys to select the desired message.
2. Press the OK key to open and view the message.
3. Press the Right Soft key to display the pop-up menu:
Forward: Forward the message to other recipient.
Reply w. Copy: Reply to other recipient with the copy of the original message.
Save Quick Text: Save the text in the message to the Quick Text list.
Lock/Unlock: Lock or unlock the message to prevent accidental deletion.

Add to Contacts: Save the contact number or email address of the received
message to the contact list or add to an existing contact.
Extract Addresses: Extract all contact numbers, email addresses or URLs in the
message.
Sent
The Sent folder contains messages that have been successfully sent by your phone.
To access the sent folder from the standby mode, select Menu→Messaging→Sent.
Select the desired message, press the OK key to view it and press the Right Soft key
to display the pop-up menu:
Forward: Forward the message to other recipient.
Lock/Unlock: Lock or unlock the message to prevent accidental deletion.
Save Quick Text: Save the text in the message to the Quick Text list.
Add to Contacts: Save the contact number or email address of the message to
the contact list or add to an existing contact.
Message Info: Check the detailed message information.
Drafts
The Drafts folder contains drafts and unfinished text and multimedia messages. From
this folder you can complete and resend your messages. To access the drafts
folder from the standby mode, select Menu→Messaging→Drafts.

Select the desired message, and press the OK key to continue editing it. You can sent
the message after editing.
In the drafts folder, press the Left Soft key to erase the selected message, and press
the Right Soft key to display the pop-up menu:
Send: Send the selected message.
Manage Drafts: You can erase or lock the messages in the drafts folder.
Voicemail
When the Voicemail function is available, all unanswered calls to your phone can be
transferred to your voice mailbox, even if your phone is not being used or powered off.
You should set up your voice mailbox and personal greeting as soon as your phone is
activated. For more information, contact your service provider.
To access the voice mail from the standby mode, select Menu→Messaging→
Voicemail.
To check your voice mailbox, press the OK key to call from the Voicemail interface.
The phone will automatically place a voice call to the Voice Mail center.
Shortcut:
To quickly access your voice mailbox from standby mode, press and hold
the 1 key. Press the OK key and your phone will automatically place a voice call to the
voicemail center.

Email
Allows you to send and receive emails via Mobile Web. Before using the function, you
should create the email account first.
To access Email from the standby mode, select Menu→Messaging→Email.
Chat
Allows you to chat with the Internet messenger users. Before using the function, you
should require a subscription to a Chat service provider first.
To access Chat from the standby mode, select Menu→Messaging→Chat.
Changing Message Settings
This menu allows you to configure the settings of message.
From standby mode, select Menu→Messaging and press the Left Soft key to access
the settings menu:
1. Inbox View
Set to sort the messages in the inbox by time or contact.
Inbox view by time: The received and sent messages are separated into Inbox and
Sent folders.

Inbox view by contact: All messages sent to or received from a contact are grouped in
the combined Messages folder.
2. Entry Mode
Set the default input mode (Ziword, Abc, ABC or 123).
3. Auto Save Sent
The messages are automatically saved in the sent folder if the feature is set on.
4. Auto Erase Inbox
The messages in the inbox folder are automatically deleted if the inbox is full when the
feature is set on.
5. Messaging Font Size
Set the message font size (Normal or Large).
6. TXT Auto View
The content of message is automatically displayed when a message is received if the
feature is set on.
7. Pic Auto Receive
The picture of message is automatically downloaded when a picture message is
received if the feature is set on.

8. Quick Text
You can view, edit, move, erase or add quick text phrases. You can add them when
writing a text or picture message.
9. Voicemail #
Enter the voicemail phone number to be dialed (the default number is *86).
0. Callback #
You can use or edit the number assigned to your handset. The callback number is
automatically sent when you send a message if the feature is set on.
*. Signature
You can create and edit a signature to send with your message automatically.
#. Delivery Receipt
You can receive a delivery receipt after sending a message if the feature is set on.
Erasing Messages
You can delete the unlocked messages in Inbox, Sent and Drafts folders or delete the
unlocked messages in all message folders at the same time.
1. Select Menu→Messaging from standby mode and press the Right Soft key.

8. Recent Calls
Your phone has a call history feature that automatically stores information about
missed, received and dialed calls. You may use the Send key as a short cut key to All
Calls from standby mode.
Select Menu→Recent Calls from standby mode to view the following menus:

Displays recent calls received but not answered.

Displays recent calls received by the phone.
Dialed
Displays recent calls made from the phone.
All
Displays all missed, received and dialed calls made from the phone.
In the Missed, Received, Dialed and All call list,

10. Media Center
Media Center function allows you to record and play sounds, take and view pictures
and use Mobile Web to access news, sports, weather, etc. It also allows you to

In the Media Center menu, press the Right Soft key to display Info menu.
You can check the memory status, the file transfer activity log and help information

1. Select Menu→Media Center→Pictures→Take Picture from standby mode. Or
you can press the Camera key from standby mode to turn on the camera.
2. Press the Up/Down key to adjust the brightness. Press the Right/Left key to
zoom in and out when available.
3. Press the Right Soft key to display Options menu, and customize White
Balance, Color Effects, Self Timer, Shutter Sound and Resolution for the
picture.
Note: Zoom is not available when the highest resolution is set.
4. Press the OK key to take a picture.
5. Press the Left Soft key to save the picture in My Pictures folder. Press the
Right Soft key to erase it. And press the OK key to send it via picture message.
Note: Please hold the mobile phone sideways when you take pictures, so that the
taken pictures saved in your phone are shown in the correct orientation.
Online Album
You should first setup your account on the Verizon Wireless website:

12. VZ Navigator
The VZ Navigator allows you to get directions to locations when you're out and about.
Using audible turn-by-turn directions, you can locate nearly fourteen million points of
interest in the U.S.A. such as landmarks, restaurants and ATMs. VZ Navigator uses
GPS positioning to tell you where you are, what's near you and to give you directions
to places, quickly and easily.
Select Menu→VZ Navigator from standby mode to access VZ Navigator.
Note: To use VZ Navigator, you should turn location on by selecting Menu→Settings
& Tools→Phone Settings→Location→Location On.

13. Bluetooth
Your phone is capable of connecting to a variety of Bluetooth wireless accessories. It
allows you to transfer data between Bluetooth devices, talk with a Bluetooth wireless
earphone, etc. You may create and store 20 pairings within the phone and connect to
one device at a time. The approximate range for Bluetooth wireless technology is up
to 30 feet (10 meters).
The Bluetooth menu allows you to search for Bluetooth wireless devices, and manage
devices that have already been paired with your phone. To access the Bluetooth menu
from standby mode, select Menu→Bluetooth.
Add New Device
1. Follow the Bluetooth accessory instructions to set the device to pairing mode.
2. Select Menu→Bluetooth→Add New Device to find a new compatible device.
3. If Bluetooth power is set to off, you will be prompted to enable Bluetooth. Select
Yes to enable Bluetooth.
4. The prompt: “PLACE DEVICE YOU ARE CONNECTING TO IN DISCOVERABLE
MODE.” is shown. Press the OK key to continue.
5. The phone will start to search for the device and the found Bluetooth devices will
be displayed in a list. Highlight a Bluetooth device to be paired and press the OK
key.

6. The phone will prompt you for the passkey. Consult the Bluetooth accessory
instruction manual for the correct passkey. Enter the right passkey for the device
you want to pair and press the OK key.
7. Once paired, you will see the device listed in the Bluetooth Devices menu.
Bluetooth Settings
In the Bluetooth menu, press the Left Soft key to turn on or off Bluetooth.
When Bluetooth is turned on, the Bluetooth icon will appear on the status bar.
Note: By default, your device’s Bluetooth functionality is turned off.
In the Bluetooth menu, press the Right Soft key to display the pop-up menu:
My phone Name: Edit your phone name. This name will appear on other
Bluetooth devices when your phone is located.
Discovery Mode: Allow other users to see your accessibility. You can disable or
enable discovery mode.
Note: After selecting On, other users have one minute to see your accessibility.
After which Discovery Mode will automatically back to off.
Supported Profiles: View profiles that you phone can support. Highlight a
profile and press the OK key to view the description.

14. Settings & Tools
The Settings & Tools menu allows you to customize your phone’s display, sound, and
various other settings based on your preferences, and also provides helpful software
applications to assist with daily tasks. In the standby mode, select Menu→Settings &
Tools to access the menu.
My Verizon
The My Verizon menu connects to the Verizon Wireless Mobile Web. You can check
your subscription information ranging from your payment plan to your software
upgrade or other available service.
Select Menu→Settings & Tools→My Verizon from standby mode to access the
menu.
Master Volume
Allows you to set master volume of the phone.
Select Menu→Settings & Tools→Master Volume from standby mode and adjust the
volume by the directional key. Press the OK key to save the setting.

Tools
Your phone tools include Voice Commands, Calculator, Ez Tip Calculator, Calendar,
To Do List, Alarm Clock, Info Search, Stopwatch, World Clock, and Notepad.
Voice Commands
Voice Commands is advanced speech recognition software that can be used to
activate a wide variety of functions on your phone. Each function has its detailed
information on the phone and you can press the Left Soft key to view it.
Select Menu→Settings & Tools→Tools→Voice Commands from standby mode to
access the function.
You can also press and hold CLR/Voice Commands Key in standby mode to access
the function.
Call <Name or #>
To make a call, say ”Call” and the command system will prompt you for the name or
phone number. You can state the name and number type of the contact (for example,
“Call John Work”) to access the contact’s phone number directly.
When using the Call command, speak clearly and say the name exactly as it is
entered in our contact list.
Send <MSG Type >
To create a message, say “Send” and the command system will prompt you for the
type of message. After choosing the message type, you will be prompted for the
contact name, number or group. You can say a full-sentence command, which states
the message type and the name or number of the contact (for example, “Send Text
Message to Bob Smith”), and the voice command system will automatically start a text

message. If the name has more than one number, the system will prompt you for the
number type.
When using the Send command, speak clearly and say the name, number, or group
exactly as it is entered in your contact list.
Go to <Shortcut >
To access a menu within the phone, say ”Go to” command. For example, “Go to
Calendar”. If no menu option is stated, a list of options will be provided.
Check <Item>
The “Check” command allows you to check out device information including Phone
Status, Voicemail, Messages, Missed Calls, Time, Signal Strength, Battery Level,
Volume, Balance, Minutes, Payment and My Number.
Contact <Name>
Say “Contact” and the command system will allow you to look up a contact. For
example, stating “Contact Bob Smith” will display all the detailed information of that
contact. You will also be prompted to call, modify, erase the contact or create a new
one.
When using the Contact command, speak clearly and say the name exactly as it is
entered in your contact list.
Search
The “Search” command starts an application that allows you to search for information
over the internet.
Redial
To make a call to the last number that you called, say “Redial”.

Help
The “Help” command allows you to view a general guideline about using Voice
Commands.

If you are frequently prompted to repeat a command, select Settings→Adaptation,

Set the Voice Commands
In the voice commands menu, press Right Soft key to access the setting options.
Confirm Choices
The Confirm Choices setting option will allow you to choose if the Command System
prompts you with a list of potential matches.
Automatic: the voice command system will display a list only when there are
alternative matches.
Always Confirm: the voice command system will always present you with a best
match list of names or numbers. When multiple matches are found, the system will
prompt you to choose from a list of matches.
Never Confirm: the voice command system will select the best match.
Sensitivity
The Sensitivity setting controls how the system filters for matches.
More Sensitive: the voice command system will increase the sensitivity and
displays more potential matches.
Less Sensitive: the voice command system will decrease the sensitivity to filter out

more potential matches. If you are frequently asked to try again, select More
Sensitive.
Automatic: the voice command system will control the sensitivity automatically.
Adaptation
Adaptation is the process of optimizing the voice recognition software to your voice.
Adaptation requires recording your voice, which is then used to customize the voice
recognition system.
Note: Adaptation will take a few minutes, and you should be in a quiet environment.
Prompts
The Prompts setting allows you control the audio guidance mode and audio playback.
Use the Mode setting to control how you are notified by the voice command system.
Use the Audio Playback setting to control if audio is played out from the
speakerphone or earpiece.

Calulator
Your mobile phone has a built-in calculator capable of performing simple mathematical
calculations. To access the calculator from the standby mode, select Menu→Settings
& Tools→Tools→Calculator.
1. Enter a number with the keypad.
2. If necessary, press the right soft key to insert operators.
3. Use the directional keys to select a mathematical function (add, subtract, multiply

4. Enter the next number with the keypad.
5. Press the OK key to view the result. Press the Left Soft key to clear the inputs or

Note: Press * key to insert a decimal. Press # key to insert ±.
Ez Tip Calulator
The Ez tip calculator function allows you to quickly and easily calculate the tip amount
based on the tip rate and bill. You can access the tip calculator from the standby mode
by selecting Menu→Settings & Tools→Tools→Ez Tip Calulator. To calculate a tip:
1. Enter the Total bill, Tip and Split, and the corresponding calculation fields (tip
and total for each person) appear.
2. Press the Left Soft key to reset the inputs and result.
3. Press the Right Soft key to close the tip calculator.
Calendar
The Calendar allows you to conveniently access and modify your agenda. You can
access the calendar from the standby mode by selecting Menu→Settings & Tools→
Tools→Calendar.

2. Use the directional keys to highlight a scheduled day.
3. Press the Left Soft key to add a new event.
4. Enter the subject, scroll down and press the Left Soft key to set other event

To View a Calendar Event
1. Select Menu→Settings & Tools→Tools→Calendar from standby mode.
2. Use the directional keys to highlight a scheduled day.
3. Press the OK key to view the event of the highlighted day. Press the left and
right keys to view the events before or after the highlighted day.
4. Press the OK key again to view the detailed information of the event.
Calendar Options
Press the Left Soft key to access the calendar options.
1. Weekly View/Monthly View: Choose to display the calendar in weekly view or
monthly view.
2. Go To Date: Select a date and press the OK key to jump to the specified date.
3. Erase All: Delete all events. Press the OK key to confirm the deletion.
4. Erase All Old: Delete all past events. Press the OK key to confirm the deletion.

Alarm Clock
The alarm clock allows you to set up multiple separate alarms. To access the alarm
clock function, select Menu→Settings & Tools→Tools→Alarm Clock from the
standby mode.
To Add a new Alarm Clock
1. Select Menu→Settings & Tools→Tools→Alarm Clock from standby mode.
2. Press the OK key to add a new alarm or use the directional keys to highlight an
alarm, and then press the OK key.
3. Use the directional keys to highlight the items, and then press the Left Soft key
to set the alarm settings.
4. Press the OK key to save the alarm clock.
Alarm Clock Options
After highlighting an existing alarm, you can press the Left Soft key to view the alarm
clock information, and press the OK key to edit the alarm clock.
Press the Right Soft key, and the following options are available:
1. Off/On: Turn off or turn on the alarm clock.
2. Reset: Delete the alarm clock.
3. Reset All: Delete all alarm clocks.

Stop Watch
This feature allows you to use a stopwatch. To access the stop watch, select Menu→
Settings & Tools→Tools→Stop Watch from standby mode.
1. Press the OK key to start the stopwatch.
2. Press the Left Soft key to save lap times. Up to 20 lap times can be saved.
3. Press the OK key to stop the stopwatch.
4. After you’ve stopped the stopwatch, press the Right Soft key to reset the
records.
World Clock
The world clock displays the time in different time zones around the world, together
with one or more cities, states, regions or countries in each time zone. To access the
World Clock, select Menu→Settings & Tools→Tools→World Clock from the
standby mode.
1. Press the Right Soft key to enter a list of available cities.
2. Choose a city from the list, or search the desired city in the Go To field, and
press the OK key.
3. The city will be set for the default city and time zone of the phone.

4. Press the left and right keys to display different time zones. Press the Left Soft
key to enable or disable daylight savings time(DST).
Notepad
This feature allows you to create, store and edit notes. To access the Notepad, select
Menu→Settings & Tools→Tools→Notepad from the standby mode.
1. Press the Left Soft key to add a new note.
2. Enter the note using the keypad.
3. When the note is finished, press the OK key to save it.
4. After highlighting a note in the notepad list, you can press the OK key to view it,
press Options→Erase to delete it, and press Options→Erase All to delete all
notes.

Call Sounds
This option allows you to set how the phone alerts you for the incoming calls.
1. Call Ringtone: Choose the ringtone in the list for the incoming calls, or press
Get New Ringtones to download new ringtones from Media Center.
2. Call Vibrate: Turn on or off the vibration for the incoming calls.
3. Caller ID Readout: Set the call alert to Ring Only, Caller ID + Ring or Name
Repeat.
Alert Sounds
This option allows you to select the alert type for different notifications.
You can select the alert ringtone, set the vibration on or off, and set the reminder for
TXT Message, Multimedia Message, Voicemail and Missed Call.
For Emergency Tone, you can set the following options:
Alert: The phone will play the emergency tone except when the master volume
setting is Vibrate or All Sounds Off.
Vibrate: The phone will vibrate instead of playing the emergency tone.
Off: The phone will disable the emergency tone and vibration.

Keypad Volume
This option allows you to set the keypad volume.
Use the directional keys to adjust the volume, and then press the OK key to save the
setting.
Digital Dial Readout
This option allows you to turn on or off the digital dial readout function.
If the function is turned on, the phone will call out the numbers when you dial each
digit.
Service Alerts
This option allows you to set the service alerts. You can turn the alerts for the
following options on or off:
ERI: The phone will sound an alert when you go into and out of the service coverage
areas if this option is set on.
Minute Beep: The phone will alert you before the end of every minute during a call if
this option is set on.
Call Connect: The phone will alert you when the call is connected if this option is set
on.
Software Update: The phone will alert you when software update is completed if this
option is set on.

This option allows you to set the sound on or off when the phone is powered on or off.
Display Settings
Display Settings allows you to customize the menu style, wall paper, backlight, menu

This option allows you to set the backlight duration for the display screen and keypad.
Display: Set the backlight duration for the main screen as 7 seconds, 15
seconds, 30 seconds, Always On or Power Save Mode.

30 seconds, Always On or Always Off.
Wallpaper
This option allows you to choose the background image displayed in standby screen.
1. Enter the wallpaper list.
2. Highlight the desired image and you can press the Left Soft key to view it.
3. Press the OK key to set it as wallpaper.
4. You can also press the Right Soft key and select Get New Applications to
download more images from Media Center.
Display Themes
This option allows you to choose different themes for the phone's menus.
1. Enter the display theme list.
2. Press the Left Soft Key to preview the highlighted display theme. Press the left
and right directional keys to preview the themes.
3. Press the Left Soft Key to back to the theme list.

This option allows you to set the main menu display.
Menu Layout
Set menu layout to Tab, List or Grid. You can press the Left Soft key to preview the

Replace Menu Items
1. Select the item you want to replace and press the OK key [EDIT].
2. Then select the item in the list you want to replace it with, and then press the OK

1. Select the item you want to move and press the OK key [MOVE].
2. Highlight the desired position by pressing the directional keys and press the OK

Phone Settings
You can edit phone settings to customize how to use your phone.
Airplane Mode
This option allows you to turn on or off the airplane mode.
When Airplane Mode is turned on, all wireless communications are disabled. You
cannot use your phone to place or receive calls including emergency calls.
Set Shortcuts
Set My Shortcuts
This option allows you to assign applications to MY SHORTCUTS menu.
To personalize MY SHORTCUTS menu:
1. Enter Set My Shortcuts menu.
2. Select the shortcut you want to change, and press the OK key to enter the
available applications list.
3. Use the directional keys to select one application for replacement and press the
OK key to confirm.
To reset MY SHORTCUTS menu:
1. Enter Set My Shortcuts menu.

Security
The Security menu allows you to secure the phone electronically.
Edit Codes
Allows you to enter a new four digit lock code.
Restrictions
Allows you to set separate restrictions for Location Setting, Calls and Messages.
Phone Lock
Keeps your phone from unauthorized use. Once the phone is locked, it's in restricted
mode until the lock code is entered. You can still receive phone calls and make
emergency calls. You can modify the lock code using Edit Codes submenu within the
Security menu.

Lock Phone Now
Allows you to lock the phone now.
Reset Default
Allows you to reset your phone to the factory default settings.
Restore Phone
Allows you to erase all user data and Contact information you've entered in the
phone's memory so it's as if it just left the factory.
System Select
Allows you to set up the phone management environment. Leave this setting as the
default unless you want to alter system selection as instructed by your service
provider.
NAM Select
Allows you to select the phone’s NAM (Number Assignment Module) if the phone is
registered with multiple service providers.
Auto Key Lock
Allows you to turn on or off the auto key lock function. When the phone is close, this
feature will lock the keys automatically when the backlight goes off.
Call Settings
The Call Settings Menu allows you to designate how the phone handles both incoming
and outgoing calls.

Answer Options
Allows you to determine how the phone will answer an incoming call.
Note: Auto with Handsfree is available when any external device is connected to
your phone or speaker is set to on.
Auto Retry
Allows you to set the length of time the phone waits before automatically redialing a
number when the attempted call fails.
TTY Mode
Your handset is a TTY compatible device. Simply connect the TTY equipment to the
USB jack with the ZTE TTY-to-USB connector. To access the phone’s TTY settings,
select Menu→Settings & Tools→Call Settings→TTY Mode. Use Up and Down
keys to choose among the following settings:
6. TTY Full: Users who cannot talk or hear may use this setting to send and receive
text messages through TTY equipment.
7. TTY+Talk: Users who can talk, but cannot hear, may use this setting to speak
through the phone and receive responses via text messages.
8. TTY+Hear: Users who can hear, but cannot speak, may use this setting to listen
to conversation of the other party, and respond via text messages.

Connecting to TTY Equipment
10. Connect the cable from the TTY device into the ZTE TTY-to-USB connector.
11. Plug the USB connector into the jack on the side of the phone.
12. Enter the TTY Mode menu and select the desired TTY Mode (shown above).
13. After setting the TTY mode, check the LCD screen on the phone for the TTY icon.
14. Connect the TTY equipment to the power source and turn it on.
15. Make a phone connection to the desired number.
16. When a connection is made, use the TTY equipment to send a text message, or
speak (for TTY+Talk mode).
17. The voice or text message from the other party will be heard or displayed on the
TTY equipment, depending on the TTY mode selected.
One Touch Dial
Allows you to initiate a speed dial call by pressing and holding the speed dial digit. If
set to Off, Speed Dial numbers designated in your Contacts will not function.
Voice Privacy
Allows you to set additional voice privacy for CDMA calls. By default, CDMA already
offers inherent voice privacy. Check with your service provider for availability.

DTMF Tones
Allows you to set the DTMF tone length.
Assisted Dialing
Allows easy dialing of international calls while roaming in another country. If Set to On,
Assisted Dialing is displayed in calling screen.
HAC Mode
This phone supports HAC (Hearing Aid Compatibility) function. You can turn on and
off the function by this menu. When you turn on the HAC mode and use a hearing aid
with a Telecoil to answer the phone, it will help you hear more clearly while speaking
on the phone.

Turn on the HAC Setting.
Phone Memory
Allows you to check your internal phone memory. Select the menu to show the
memory information in your phone.
Phone Info
Allows you to view the information specific to your phone and software including My

16. Troubleshooting
Fail to power on the phone
Check whether the battery has adequate capacity to power on.
The phone has powered off automatically
The battery capacity is quite low, please charge the battery.
No key tone when pressing the keys
Check whether the keypad tone has been disabled. You can set key tone settings via
Menu→Settings & Tools→Sounds Settings→Keypad Volume.
No incoming ringtone when receiving a call
Check whether the phone is set to Silent Mode or the phone volume is turned off by
the Volume key.
Can not send a message
Check the status of the network.
Can not answer an incoming call by the headset automatically
Check whether Auto Answer function is on in the call setup settings, via Menu→Settings
& Tools→Call Settings→Answer Options.

To dial an emergency call
You can still dial an emergency call, even if the keypad is locked. Please enter the call
number directly and press the Send Key.
Can not connect to the network
Check whether the phone is in the CDMA network service area or move other places
to try again.
Can not receive a new message
Check whether the network condition is OK, and then check whether the Inbox is full.
If you turn off the Auto Delete Inbox function, you may not receive new messages
when the inbox is in full status. You should delete some messages and change the
settings.
Can not establish Three-Way Call
Check the network condition and whether you have applied this service from your
network provider.

Consumer Limited Warranty
ZTE ("Seller") offers you a limited warranty that the enclosed product or products (the
"Product") will be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period that
expires one year from the date of sale of the Product to you, provided that you are the
original end-user purchaser of the Product and provided that your purchase was made
from a supplier authorized by the Seller. Transfer or resale of a Product will
automatically terminate warranty coverage with respect to that Product. This limited
warranty is not transferable to any third party, including but not limited to any
subsequent purchaser or owner of the Product. This limited warranty is applicable only
to end users in the United States.
Seller will, at its sole and absolute discretion, either repair or replace a Product (which
unit may use refurbished parts of similar quality and functionality) if found by Seller to
be defective in material or workmanship, or if Seller determines that it is unable to
repair or replace such Product, Seller will refund the purchase price for such Product,
provided that the subject Product (i) is returned to a Seller authorized service center
within the one year warranty period, and (ii) is accompanied by a proof of purchase in
the form of a bill of sale or receipted invoice which evidences that the subject Product
is within the one year warranty period. After the one year warranty period, you must
pay all shipping, parts and labor charges. In the event that the product is deemed un-
repairable or has been removed from the list of products supported by the Seller, you
will only be liable for shipping and labor charges.

operation, improper handling, neglect, exposure to fire or liquid; (iii) any Product
operated outside published maximum ratings; (iv) cosmetic damage; (v) any Product

rendered illegible; (vi) cost of installation, removal or reinstallation; (vii) signal

ANY UNAUTHORIZED ACCESSORIES MAY BE DANGEROUS AND WILL
