Efficient UseFor optimum performance with minimum power consumption, donot cover the device with anything. Covering the device may causethe device to operate at higher power levels than needed.Radio Frequency (RF) Exposure Your device contains a transmitter and a receiver. When it isworking, it receives and transmits RF energy. When you commu-nicate with your device, the system handling your connection con-trols the power level at which your device transmits.Important safety information regarding radiofrequency radiation(RF) exposure. To ensure compliance with RF exposure guide-lines the device must be used with a separation from the body.Failure to observe these instructions could result in your RF expo-sure exceeding the relevant guideline limits.FCC ComplianceThis device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation issubject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may notcause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept anyinterference received, including interference that may cause un-desired operation.Caution: Changes or modifications not expressly approved by themanufacturer could void the user’s authority to operate theequipment.NOTE: This equipment has been tested and found to comply withthe limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of theFCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable pro-tection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequencyenergy and, if not installed and used in accordance with theinstructions, may cause harmful interference to radiocommunications. However, there is no guarantee that interferencewill not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment doescause harmful interference to radio or television reception, whichcan be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the useris encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more ofthe following measures:— Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.— Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.— Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit differentfrom that to which the receiver is connected.— Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/ TV technician forhelp.RRRRRadio Fadio Fadio Fadio Fadio Frrrrrequencequencequencequencequency (RF) Enery (RF) Enery (RF) Enery (RF) Enery (RF) EnergggggyyyyyThis model device meets the government’s requirements for ex-posure to radio waves. This device is designed and manufactured not to exceed the emis-sion limits for exposure to radio frequency (RF) energy set by theFederal Communications Commission of the U.S. Government:The exposure standard for wireless devices employs a unit ofmeasurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate, or SAR.The SAR limit set by the FCC is 1.6 W/kg. *Tests for SAR areconducted using standard operating positions accepted by the FCCwith the device transmitting at its highest certified power level inall tested frequency bands. Although the SAR is determined atthe highest certified power level, the actual SAR level of the de-vice while operating can be well below the maximum value. Thisis because the device is designed to operate at multiple powerlevels so as to use only the poser required to reach the network. In general, the closer you are to a wireless base station antenna, the lower the power output. The highest SAR value for the model device as reported to theFCC when worn on the body, as described in this user guide, is1.06 W/kg (Body-worn measurements differ among device models, depending upon available enhancements and FCC requirements.)While there may be differences between the SAR levels of variousdevices and at various positions, they all meet the governmentrequirement. The FCC has granted an Equipment Authorization for this modeldevice with all reported SAR levels evaluated as in compliancewith the FCC RF exposure guidelines. SAR information on thismodel device is on file with the FCC and can be found under theDisplay Grant section of http://www.fcc.gov/oet/fccid after search-ing on FCC ID: Q78-ZTEMF683.2.
