Chapter1 Safety Gu' ance
1.1 Safety check
Before installing the ZXA10 F420 device, you must check the foliouving items.
1 Electric safety
Ensure that there are no inflammable, conductive or moist obyects around Check
whether the cables are aged and whether other electrical appliances are placed
stably.
Check whether the alternating or direct input current is Within the allowed range of the
devioe, whether the polarity of the direct current Is mired, and whether the earth line
is property connected,
2 Device position
- Because the running electric device easily generates heat, please ensure to place the
devtoe in a wellrveritllated envimhment
0 Place the device on a stabie and flat plane
0 Avoid direct Sunshine, and do not pteCe the device on a PC case.
0 Keep the device away from heat and water
a Check whether power supply iS available The input voltage fluctuation range must be
smaller than 10%, The power plug shuuid not share one socket with a hair drier, an
iron or r refrigerator.
1.2 Safety Cautions

0 Do not use any accessory that does not belong to the device without prior consent of
the manufacture, as it may cause no or product damage,
- Use the power adapter accompanied in the package.

- During lightning weather, unplug the power plug and all connection cables, to protect
the device against lightning.
a Clean the device using a soil and dry cloth rather than liquid or atomizers. Power oil
the device before cleansing it.

o Keep the ventilation hole clean and prevent any object from dropping into the device
through it Otherwise, it may Cause short Circuit and further Cause device damage or
fire. Do not spray iiouid on the surface of the device
0 Do not open the Case at the device, espectaliy during device powewri.
o Eelore plugging or unplugging the power, ensure that the power is off, thus avoiding
surge
- Be careful when unplugging the power. as the transformer may be very hot.
0 Cover the Optical interlace with fiber ihtertace cap when it is not in use Avoid direct
eye exposure to the laser emitted from the optical lntertace.Wear safety glasses it
possible. to protect youreyes,

The ZXA10 F420 is an optical network unit (ONUi for the broadband network provided by
ZTE Corporation it uses the oomputer network technology and broadband optical network
access technology, to create a residential network center, in this way. residential network
devices are connected with each other to share tntemet network connection The ZXA10
F420 provides your imiious comfortable, convenient, customized, effective, extensive,
sale, and, versatile services

Belore installing the ZXA10 F420, please check the lollowlng items,

You need to apply service to your internet service provider (ISP), and access services
provides by your tSP by using PON access mode (broadband aeoessi. Vnur iSP must
provide at least one iniiid iP address for you (static or dynamic allocation),
2 Hardware configuration
Ensure that an Ethernet card that supports 10/100 Mbps iS installed in your computer or
that you have a network device that provides a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet interface
Ensure that computers that need to access the network are equipped With the network
card driver and TCPilP protocol Correct network setting iS also required
3 Operating system
Operating systems can be Windows eeSE, Windows Me, Windows 2000, or Windows
xP, For system configuration in the WEB interlace, the browser should be lnternet
Explorer v 5.0 or later.
