Introduction
The CRUOOBvS Series cradle acts as a stand and charger tor the LS4278 and
DSGB7B cordless scanners.
The CR007Ei-S Series cordless scanner cradle acts as a stand, charger and host
communication Intertace tor L34278 and 038873 cordless scanners, The
CROO78-S Series cradle receives data trom the scanner Via a Bluetoolh radio,
and sends that data to the host through an attached cable, The cmdle also
charges the scanner‘s internal battery pack when the soanneris inserted. The
scannercan be charged thwugh the cradle lrom an external power supply or
using a powered host cable.
The cradles can sit on a desktop or mount on a wall, computer work emtion or
rnedlcal cart.
This document provides basic instructions on setting up and using the cradle.
Unless otherwise noted, “cradle" refers to all configurations oi the cradle. Any
discussion oi tmnsmission oi information reters specifically to the CRDOTBVS
Series cradle.
Accessories
The iotlcwtng equipment may be needed:
- Power supply (p/n 50440007253R;50-16000-OSBR Korean).
- Mounting bracket lorvertlcal cradle mounting (pin 21-135001-01).

Tu mount the cradle on a verttcal surtace using
the Motorola accessory mounting bracksl:
1. Use a Phtlips screwdriver Io turn the
desk/wall maunl converter knob to Ihe
position shown BI right. The "onl latches
protract to engage tne depresstons at the
base 0! Ine scannev‘s hancfle.
2. Ensure the convertible mount hook on the
tram or the ornate Is Inserted wrtn the hook
tactng up. tt not. remove and reverse the
hook so that it Is in positlon to secure the
scanner In place.

6. Press the cables Into the cradle cable grooves,
7, Align the mounting holes on the cradle with the screws on the mounting
bracket and snap the cradle securely into place on the sunace.
8. Place the scanner in the cradle.
Inserting the Scanner in the Cradle
To Insert the scanner In the cradle:
1. Insert the scanner top Inst. When the cradle is mounted in a vertical position,
ensure the convertible mount hack on the lmnt ol the cradle is inserted with the
hookiaclng up. If not, remove and reverse the hack so that It Is In pcslilcn to
secure the scanner in place.
2. Push the handle until It clicks intc place. engaging the contacts in the cradle
and scanner.
Sending Data to the Host Computer
The cradle receives data lram the scanner via a wireless radio connection and
transmits II to the host computer via the host cable. The scanner and cradle must
be paired ior successlul wireless communication.
Pairing
Pelrlng registers a scanner to the cradle and the scanner and cradle can
exchange inlormalion. The CROW/8's Series operates in two modes:
scannerto-cradle and muitl scanneHo-cradle. In scanner-to-cradle mode. the
scanner is paired to lhe cradle either by insertion into the cradle (ll pairing on
insertian Is enabled). or by scanning the pairing barccde, In mulil
scanner-tcvcradle mode. up to three scanners can be paired to one cradle. A
mullipcint bar code must be scanned to activate this Ieature.
The pairing bar code is located on the lront of the cradle. To pair the scanner with
the cradle, scan the pairing bar code. A high-Iow-highrlow beep sequence

loilowed by a low-nigh peep sequence indicates successiul pairing and
connection to the remote device. A long low, long high beep sequence indicates

ll scanned data does not transmit to the cradle‘s hosl. ensure that all copies are
tirmly insened and the power supply is connected lo an appropriate AC outlet. ii
scanned data still does not lransmll to the host, reestablish a connection with the
hosl:
1. Disconnect the power supply lrom the cradle.
Disconnect the host lnlertace cable llcm the cradle.
Wall three seconds.
Reconnect the nest interface cable (0 me cradle.
Reconnect lhe power supply to the cradle, il required.
. Heestablish pairing wiln the cradle by scanning the pairing bar code.
\/ NINE The CH0075~S Series does not always require a power
supply whereas the cnoooos Series always requires a
power supply.

Charging the Scanner Battery in the Braille
To charge the scanner oellery, place tne scanner in the cradle (see Inserting lne
Scanner in the Cradle on page 7). The battery begins charging when the scanner
LED indicator starts ilesning green. A complete charge at a luity discharged
battery can take up to lnlee hours using external power and up to live hours using
non-exlelnal cable power.
