ANTENNA
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
caution: To avoid excessive exposure to the radio heguenny radiation, antennas should also be
sitianed in such a way that a separation distance a at least 20 cm is normally maintained
etween the transmitter’s radiating structures and the body of the user or nearby persons.
l DIPOLE ANTENNA
Remove hie antenna from the box You’ll notice that the antenna is L-shaped and the short
part at the L has a built-in connector with a silver hexagonal collar. The ZoomAir Card’s
mating connector has a knurled brass collar.
To maintain consistent antenna orientation, hold the antenna vertically and gently tighten
the hexagonal collar on the antenna body until the antenna stays in place. Do not
attempt to turn the knurled brass collar on the PC Card. It is glued in place.
l OMNI-DIRECTIONAL ANTENNA
I Carefully remove the existing dipole antenna: Gently unscrew the hexagonal collar on the
antenna body. Do not attempt to turn the knurled brass collar on the PC Card.
It is glued in place.
2 Attach one end of the cable' to the omni-directianal antenna and the other ta the ZoomAir
PC Card. Again, be careful of the oollar glued in place.
3 3A. “you are usma ZoomAir Hardware Access Point, mount the antenna in a central
location as an 'u rella” to provide optimal coverage.
35. It you are usi ZoomAir in a point-to-point applioation, mount bath antennas so that
they are lacing eac other in a line at sight orientation.
I DIRECTIONAL ANTENNA
'I (lawfully remove the existing dipole antenna: Gently unscrew the hexagonal collar on the
antenna body. Do not attempt to turn the knurled bran collar on the PC Card.
It is glued In place.
2 Attadi one end of the crdole‘ to the directional antenna and the other to the ZoomAir PC
Card. Again, be careful of the cellar glued in place.
3 Using the supplied universal mounting and positioning hardware, position the antenna in a
vertical orientation so that the receiving antenna is in the line at sight.
