Please follow these guidelines. Failure to do so might cause the product to malfunction, or even a potential hazard to your health. Do not use your phone while driving. Park the car before making or answering a call. Turn off your phone when refueling. Do not use your phone near a gas station, flammable, or chemical substances. Warning! It may explode when exposed in fire. Do not use your phone during a flight. Wireless devices can cause interference in the aircraft. Do not use your phone near medical equipments like pacemaker without requesting permission from the physician or medical staff. Radio signals may affect the performance of your phone. Do not touch any exposed parts of the antenna while in a call, it will affect the call reception and waste battery power. Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the phone by yourself. Only authorized personnel should perform this service. When you connect accessories to your phone, please read the safety guidelines carefully. Do not use unauthorized products. Please use only the original accessories or products that are authorized by our company. Keep out of children's reach. Phone controls MENU/SELECT key MESSAGE key NAMES/CLEAR/ BACK key POWER/EXIT key CHARGE LED light Navigation UP‐DOWN/ LEFT‐RIGHT key CALL/REDIAL key SPEAKERPHONE key Telephone KEYPAD buttons Use the control buttons to do the following: MENU/SELECT key • Menu: Press to open and access the phone menu. • Select: Press to accept the selected function. MESSAGE key • Press to access the Write message home menu. NAMES/CLEAR/BACK key • Names: Press to access the Phonebook records. • Clear: Press to delete a number or a character input. • Back: Press to return to the previous screen display. MICROPHONE POWER/EXIT key • Press to end an active call. • Press to exit a menu and return to standby mode. • Power On/Off: Press and hold for 3 seconds to turn the phone On or Off. CHARGE LED light • Lights up when charging the battery. Navigation keys (UP‐DOWN/LEFT‐RIGHT) • Press to move the selection up or down during options programming. • Press to move around the LCD screen when writing or editing a message. • Press to open the pre‐programmed key shortcut function. CALL/REDIAL key • Press to make a call. • Redial: Press in standby mode to open the call lists, select the number and then press CALL/REDIAL. SPEAKERPHONE key • Press to activate the speakerphone call function. Preparation before use Installing the curl telephone line cord 1 Insert the telephone line jack at the End of the curl cord into the handset. Push the jack until it snap in place. 2 Arrange the cord to fix inside the groove on the base unit as shown. 3 Insert the other end of the telephone line jack into the base unit. Push the jack until it snap in place. Installing the SIM card and battery pack Your phone will not work without the SIM card. The Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card identifies you to the wireless network. 1 Remove the battery cover on the base unit. 2 Insert the SIM card into the slot with copper contacts facing down the pins. Insert the jack of the battery pack into the terminal pins. Insert the battery pack and arrange the wires. Replace the back cover and push until the locking tab clicks into place. Charging the battery 1 Connect the AC adapter plug to an electrical outlet and connect the other end to the USB jack at the right side of the phone. 2 When the power comes on, the charge LED will lit, “Charging…” will be displayed on the LCD screen and the charge indicator will start to scroll. It will only stop after the battery comes to full charge. If a battery is completely discharged, it may take a few minutes before the charge indicator appears on the LCD screen. To fully charge when the phone is discharged, keep charging for at least three hours. After the battery charge comes to full, disconnect the charger from phone and the socket of the alternating current. Warning! Do not take out the battery when it is being charged. To ensure the best performance, please use original accessories. Using other accessories may affect the performance of the phone. Personal data and settings in your phone and SIM card might get lost when you take out the battery. Power ON/OFF Press and hold the POWER key to turn on or power off your phone. Security number PIN1: PIN (Personal Identity Number), is usually provided to a SIM card by the network operator. If you enter a wrong PIN three times in a row, it will be locked. You need to enter your PUK (Personal Unblocking Key) number to unlock. Please contact your network operator for more details. PIN2: PIN2 is provided to some SIM. If you enter a wrong PIN three times in a row, it will be locked. You need to enter your PUK2 to unlock. Call your network operator for more details. PUK: PUK (Personal Unblocking Key) is used to unblock the PIN. PUK is provided to a SIM card. If you lose or forget the password, contact your network operator. Phone code: Turn on the Phone code for security and prevent the phone from unauthorized use. Phone features Make a call You have several choices for placing a call. Dial the Lift the handset or press SPEAKERPHONE key, dial the phone number number and then press CALL key to dial out the number. Press CLEAR key to delete a wrong entry. Dial from contacts Open the Phonebook list and select the contact you wish to call. Press CALL key to dial out the selected record. Communicate through the speakerphone or lift the handset. Dial from the call list Press CALL key, the call lists will display starting from the most recently called number. Press CALL key again to automatically dial the displayed record, or press Up or Down key to scroll the list and then press CALL key to dial the selected record. Communicate through the speakerphone or lift the handset. NOTE: The phone is equipped with an auto‐dial function. It will automatically send out the number in a few seconds after input. Answer a call When a call comes in, the phone will behave according to the setting of the phone profile. It will show the caller's name if the network supports it. The caller’s name display depends on whether you have saved it in your phonebook. Lift the handset to answer the call, or press CALL key to answer in speakerphone mode. Options with the handset while in a call: Mute a call Press Options>Mute to deactivate the microphone. Press Options>Unmute to return to normal call conversation. Adjust the call Volume Press Option>Volume to adjust the call volume. Press Right key to increase, or press Left key to decrease the volume level. Press Accept to confirm the setting. OR, adjust the volume direct by pressing the Left or Right key to open the call volume indicator. Press Right key to increase or press Left key to decrease the volume and then press Accept to confirm. Hold a call Press Option>Hold to hold the call. Press Option>Retrieve call to retrieve the held call. Access the Phonebook Press Option>Phonebook to access the phonebook list. Options when receiving an incoming call: Turn off the Press Ringer off to turn off the ringer. Ringer Reject a call Press End or Exit key to reject the call. To end a call conversation Press End or Exit key, or return the handset to the cradle to end the call. Emergency calls You do not need to own a SIM card to make emergency calls. Emergency calls may differ from different network operators, please contact your network operator to get your local emergency call number. To make an international call To make an international call, press * key twice to display the “+” character on the screen, and then enter the country code, area code (without the first zero), and the phone number: For example; Enter 505 for Nicaragua, 44 for UK, 86 for China. Enter +8613798297223, when making an international call to China. Call Voicemail Before using this feature, first setup the Voice mailbox number in Menu>Short Messages > Voice mail>Voice mailbox number 1 Select Listen to Voice Mail messages. 2 Your voicemail number is dialed. 3 When the call connects, follow the voice prompt to retrieve your voice mail message. Keypad lock To enable a permanent keypad lock, activate the setting on Menu>Settings>Phone settings>Keypad Locking Settings. Call Records Your phone records the Missed call, Outgoing call, Incoming call, and Call Duration. Missed Call The phone records the latest list of unanswered incoming calls. 1 In the Calls home menu, select Missed Call. 2 Press Up or Down key to browse the list. 3 Press Option and then select; Show number, Call, Send SMS, Edit, Delete, Delete all, Add to blacklist, Add to friendlist. Outgoing Call The phone stores the list of phone numbers that you have most recently dialed or attempted to call. 1 In the Calls home menu, select Outgoing Call. 2 The dialed call list will display, select the record you wish to view. 3 Press Option and then select; Show number, Call, Send SMS, Edit, Delete, Delete all, Add to blacklist, Add to friendlist. Incoming Call The phone records the list of answered incoming calls with the telephone number or the name (if the caller's number is identified with the name and number that is stored in the Phonebook memory), date, and time of the call. 1 In the Calls home menu, select Incoming Call. 2 The received call list will display, select the record you wish to view. 3 Press Option and then select; Dial, Send SMS, Delete, Save Number, Delete all, or Show number. Call duration The phone records the accumulated time of calls for outgoing calls, incoming calls, and the duration of time of the latest call. 1 In the Calls home menu, select Call duration. 2 The LCD screen will display the Outgoing Duration, Incoming Duration, and the Last Call Duration. Press Reset key to reset the time count back to zero. SIM Tool Kit This menu allows you to access a range of SMS based services that helps you do more. Simply select the desired service from the service menu. To get the list of services available for your phone or for assistance on any of these services, please call your SIM network. There are different menus according to different SIM cards. Phonebook To view the contacts on your phone, press NAMES key or press Menu>Phonebook and then select Browse>ALL/SIM card/Family/Friends/Office/Others. Browse mode A way to find a contact quickly is to press a letter key (A~Z) that corresponds to the first letter of a name, and the search will jump to the first entry beginning with that letter. Press Up or Down key to scroll through the list. Press Option to do the following; Details Displays the number and the contact memory location. Call Calls the selected contact. Send SMS Opens the SMS write menu for writing message to the selected contact. Edit To edit the number and the name. For contacts stored on the phone memory, it will include to edit the group memory location. Send name card To forward the name and number of the contact as content of a message. Delete Deletes the selected contact. Add to blacklist Adds the contact into the Firewall>Black list memory. Add to friendlist Adds the contact into the Firewall>Friend list memory. Add to speed dial To assign the selected contact into the Speed dial memory, select the memory location from 2~9. Add new Contact The contact will be stored in the SIM memory by default. To store a contact in the phone memory, set the Phonebook>Setting>Save to, and select Save to Phone. To store a contact in the phone memory; 1 In the Phonebook menu, select Add new Contact. 2 Input the number and then press Accept. 3 Input the name and then press Accept. 4 Select the group memory location: Family, Friends, Office, or Others. 5 Press Accept. Speed dial Program a speed dial numbers to the keys 2 ~ 9 and make a call via speed dial. 1 In the Phonebook menu, select Speed dial. 2 Select a Speed dial key location and then press Accept. 3 Select Set/Change. 4 Browse the phonebook record you wish to assign and then press Accept. 10 To make a Speed dial call; In standby mode, press the Speed dial key memory location and then press CALL key to dial out the stored number. Setting To set the directory of the storage memory, and ring tone for the group phonebook. In the Phonebook menu, select Setting and then select; Save to Sets the memory storage location; Save to SIM or Save to Phone. Ringing tone Sets the ring tone for each group memory. Select Family, Friends, Office, or Others and then set the desired ring tone from the list. Used space To check the storage status of the SIM and Phone contact memory. Fixed dial This function applies when the SIM card support this feature. The PIN2 must be entered to enable the FDN function. The outgoing call is restricted only to the phone numbers stored in the FDN memory. SDN phonebook The numbers stored in the SDN directory are pre‐installed by the service provider. Record manager To copy, move, or delete SIM or Phone contacts. 1 In the Phonebook menu, select Record manager. 2 Select; Copy SIM to phone, Copy phone to SIM, Move SIM to phone, Move phone to SIM, Delete all SIM entries, or Delete all phone entries. 3 Follow the screen prompt to confirm the next move. Short Message Write message Before you start, make sure that the number of the service center is set. The number is supplied by the service provider and is usually saved on the SIM card. 1 Press Menu and then select Short Message>Write message. For quick access to 11 the Write message menu, press MESSAGE key in standby mode. Type the message. You will be able to track the number of characters that you are creating as you type. Press CLEAR key to delete a wrong input, press and hold CLEAR key to delete the whole entry. Press # key repeatedly to set the text input mode; Abc, abc, ABC, 123, Es, es, or ES. Press 0 key to add space. Press 1 key repeatedly to input “, . ? ! 1” characters. Press * key to open the special symbols menu, use the navigation keys to scroll to the desired character and then press Accept to input. After completing the message, press Option and select; Only send ‐ Sends the message by dialing the recipient number, or search the recipient from the Contact list. Only save ‐ Stores the message in the Draftbox memory. Send and Save ‐ To send and then save the message in the Outbox memory. Send to many ‐ To send the message to two or more recipients. SMS Read view When receiving a text message, a message alert will be heard. Press Select and then Read to open the message. Reading a Text message: Open the Short message>Inbox folder. The message lists will display starting from the Unread or most recently viewed. Select the message in the list and then press Accept key to read the content. From the SMS message read view, press Option to do the following: Text Reply Opens the Message write box to reply the message sender. Forward Forwards the message to other contact/s. 12 Dial back Calls the message sender. Delete Deletes the current message. Delete all Deletes all of the messages in the Inbox folder. Extract number Extracts the phone number of the message sender, and any other related phone numbers in the message. Save message as draft After writing a message, press Option>Only save. The message is saved in the Draftbox memory. Message setup Templates To open the pre stored message templates. To edit the messages, press Edit and then input the text. Press Accept to save the edited message template. Service Center Select to view the number of the service center. The service center number is usually stored in the SIM card. Validity Period Sets the time interval during which the SMS Center will try to send the message; 1 hour, 12 hours, 24 hours, 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, or Maximum. Status Report Set to On if you want the network to send a delivery report, otherwise set the option to Off. Storage media Used space Sets the storage memory location; SIM or Phone memory. Displays the memory status of the phone and the SIM message memory. Broadcast message The Cell Broadcast message is used by the network operator for sending the same message to all the users within a certain area. 13 The phone is set ready to receive a broadcast message from the default broadcast channel of the network. To add more channels; 1 In the Broadcast message menu, select Subjects. 2 Select Add Topic and then input the reference of the Topic ID. 3 Press Accept to confirm the setting. Tools FM radio Press Menu>Tools and then select FM Radio to turn on the radio. FM Channel Auto Search; 1 In the FM radio home menu, press Menu>Auto search. 2 In the prompt, press “Yes” to commence. 3 The phone will scan for clear FM radio channels and stores them in the Channel list memory. Press Up or Down key to change channel. FM Channel Set Frequency; You can enter the bandwidth frequency of your favorite FM radio station. 1 In the FM radio home menu, press Menu>Set Frequency. 2 Input the band width frequency. If the bandwidth falls below 100MHz, input “0” at the first digit. 3 To save the channel in the Channel list, press Menu>Save Channel. Changing channels; While tune in to a current FM channel, press Up or Down key to change channel based from the stored channel list. Press Left or Right key to change channel in the increment of 0.1 MHz. Browsing the channel list; Press Menu>Channel to display the Channel list. Use Up or Down keys to browse the list. Press Menu>Select to open the selected channel. Press Menu>Delete Channel to delete the selected channel. Adjusting the volume; While tune in to a current FM channel, press Menu>Volume. Press Left key to decrease, 14 press Right key to increase the sound. Press Accept key to confirm the setting. Turn off the Radio; In the FM radio home menu, press Menu>Radio Switch Off. Alarm User can set 3 settings of alarm clock. 1 Select; Alarm 1, 2, or 3. 2 Select On. 3 Enter the alarm time and then press Accept. 4 Select One shot alarm or Weekly alarm. In the Weekly alarm setting, press Up or Down arrow keys to browse the days and then press Right key to mark or unmark the selected day. 5 Press Accept key to save the alarm. Calculator The calculator allows carrying out simple arithmetic operation (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). 1 Press Menu>Tools and then select Calculator. 2 Input the first number/s (not more than 9 digits). 3 Press Menu and then select the option: Flip sign, Square root, Square, Add, Subtract, Multiply, or Divide. 4 Input the second number/s (not more than 9 digits). 5 Press Menu>Compute result to display the answer. Calendar To view the calendar; Press Up key repeatedly to view the calendar date of the previous months. Press Down key repeatedly to view the calendar date for coming months. User can set to view a specific calendar date, press Option>Go to date and then input the date‐month‐year, the calendar will update the display according to the date input. Settings You can set the general functionality of your phone. Press Menu and then select Settings. 15 Profiles Set the ring tones, sound volume level to adopt a behavior in a certain environment. 1 Press Menu>Setting and then select Profiles. 2 Select Standard or Mute. 3 Select Set as default or Personalize. Personalize settings User can customize an option depending on the profile selection. The Speaker and Handsfree volume can only set in the mute mode. In the standard profile, user can set the following: Ringing tone: Set the call ringing tone. Browse the list to select your desired incoming call ring tone. Ringing volume: Set the ring volume level of the call ring tone. Press Left or Right key to adjust the volume and then press Accept to confirm the setting. Speaker volume: Set the default volume level of the speaker. Press Left or Right key to adjust the level and then press Accept to confirm the setting. Handsfree volume: Set the default volume level when using the speakerphone. Press Left or Right key to adjust the level and then press Accept to confirm the setting. Keypad tone: Set to turn the key tone sound to On or Off. Warn tone: Set to turn the warning tone sound to On or Off. Missed alert: Set to turn the missed alert tone sound to On or Off. SMS alert tone: Set the Message tone. Browse the list to select the SMS ring tone and then press Accept to confirm the selection. Power on/off ring: Set to turn the power on and power off ring tone sound to On or Off. Alarm tone: Set the Alarm tone. Browse the list to select the Alarm tone and 16 then press Accept to confirm the selection. Clock settings Date & Time Sets the time and date display of the phone. Date format Sets the display format of the date. Time display format Sets the time format to either 12 hours or 24 hours. Backlight Set the backlight behavior of the LCD screen to On or Off. Phone settings Language Set the operating language of the phone to either English or Spanish. Shortcut settings Set the most often used functions in the shortcut keys to access them via touch of a button. 1 Select the function key; Left key, Right key, Up key, or Down key. 2 Select the relevant function to assign; Alarm, Profiles, FM radio, Inbox, Calls, Phonebook, or Missed call. To set with nothing, select “empty” With the phone in standby mode, press the function key (Left, Right, Up, or Down) to quickly access the assigned function. Keypad Locking Settings Set the locking behavior of the keypad to; Disable, 30 Seconds, or 60 Seconds. Call settings Minute minder Firewall Set the to get alerted by two short beeps for every minute elapse during a call conversation. Set the reminder to 5 sec before or 15 sec before, otherwise set to Off. The phone is equipped with a special feature to sort and answer incoming calls by setting the following option: 17 Friend list ‐ Store the list of phone numbers for friends. Press Add to store contacts into the list. Black list ‐ Store the list of phone numbers that you want to block. Press Add to store contacts into the list. Current settings ‐ Set the behavior of the phone in responding with incoming calls: Bar all: To block all incoming calls. Bar blacklist: To block all phone numbers stored in the Black list memory. Friend only: To respond calls only to the phone numbers stored in the Friend list memory. Cancel all: To deactivate the firewall setting, the phone will respond to all incoming calls. Network Call waiting Diverts To display incoming calls when you are on a call. Select to Activate or Deactivate the call waiting function of the phone. Diverts a call to another number. Select the setting; Unconditional divert, Busy divert, No answer divert, No service divert, or Cancel all Network call barring This feature is network dependent. Please call your SIM network to get more details. Select; All international calls, International calls except to home, All incoming calls, Incoming while roam, All outgoing calls, or Cancel all. Network select Mode Select a wireless network via Automatic or Manual scanning Security settings The phone will prompt for the phone code, the default code is 0000. Power on PIN1 Set to On to enable the PIN1 code entry of your SIM before the phone proceeds to turn on. You can also select Change PIN1 to change the PIN1 code. 18 Phone lock Set to On to enable the phone code entry before the phone proceeds to turn on, otherwise set to Off. The default phone code is 0000. Version Info Select to view the software release version of the phone. NP Code Your phone is equipped with a special feature to unlock the SIM LOCK and enables the phone to use a SIM card from another network. 1 Input *#06# to display the IMEI number and take a record. 2 Call the network service hotline number to get the NP Code. You will be asked to supply the IMEI number of the phone. 3 The service center will inform the password for the NP Code. 4 Insert the new sim card and power on the phone. The phone will prompt to input the NP Code. 5 Press any of the number key to open the entry field and then input the password. 6 The phone will scan for the network. To return to the original SIM LOCK status, input *#247# and restart the phone. Maintenance Battery instructions When the phone automatically turns off or indicates the alarm information of power shortage, please charge the battery in time. For the first few times, please charge the battery fully. When not in use, please separate the battery with power supply. Overcharging will shorten the life of the battery. Do not expose your products to extreme high or low temperatures. Do not expose the battery to temperature above +40 °C. Do not use damaged battery. Do not expose your mobile phone to direct sunlight or in hot areas. High temperatures can shorten the life of electronic devices. 19 Do not expose the battery into fire or throw it away. Return the worn‐out battery to the provider or put it in the appointed recycle place. Do not throw it in familial rubbish. Follow these guidelines to protect your product: ‐ keep the product out of children's reach ‐ Keep your product dry. Do not expose it to liquid or moisture. Do not short‐circuit the battery, as this can cause excessive heat to bring about fire. Do not expose your mobile phone to direct sunlight or in hot areas. High temperatures can shorten the life of electronic devices. Do not attempt to disassemble the phone and battery by yourself. Prevent any liquid from leaking into your phone. Please only use original accessories. Using any unauthorized accessory may affect your mobile phone’s performance. 20 FCC Caution: This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
