Y201 Combustible Gas Detector Manual - Yeezou

Y201 Combustible Gas Detector Manual

※ Before use of this product, please read the instruction manual carefully.

General Instructions

The Yeezou 201 combustible gas detector is equipped with a high-performance semiconductor gas sensor, offering excellent sensitivity for detecting leaking combustible gases such as natural gas or propane. It is suitable for use in households, factories, hotels, apartments, and other areas requiring gas leak localization.

The detector is powered by 3 AAA batteries (not included) and features a hand-held portable design for convenient gas leak checks. Visual LED indicators and an audible alarm notify the user of the presence and relative concentration of combustible gases. The varying audible ticking rate and the number of lit LEDs help users determine the gas leak rate. A quick-response sensor bulb with an adjustable sensitivity dial allows for the detection of both large and small leaks.

Important Notes

To prevent damage to the sensor's molecular membrane from overpressure, avoid using test gas sources with directed high pressure (e.g., gas pressure nozzles) for gas leak tests. It is recommended to turn a lighter or gas stove on and off to introduce gas into the air, then move the detector probe to the area to check functionality.

Testing with ultra-high concentrations of combustible gas may reduce the detector's usability and pose a flammable hazard.

Product Layout

The detector features the following components:

  1. LED gas level indicators
  2. Warm-up indicator (yellow) ?
  3. Power indicator (green) ?
  4. Low battery indicator (red) ?
  5. ON/OFF Power switch
  6. Sensor tip and built-in sensor
  7. Goose neck (12" / 30 cm)
  8. Speaker
  9. Sensitivity adjustment dial
  10. Battery cover

Operation

  1. Before use, ensure the location has clean & fresh air. Switch the ON/OFF power switch to turn on the detector. The yellow Warm-up Indicator will light up for approximately 10 seconds; wait for it to turn off before use. The green Power Indicator will remain illuminated while the device is powered. Note: The device requires a 10-second warm-up period each time it is turned on.
  2. After the 10-second warm-up, the yellow Warm-up Indicator will turn off, indicating the detector is ready. Adjust the sensitivity using the side dial until the first, bottom LED is at the threshold of lighting up and the high-frequency ticking just begins. If the dial is already set too high (towards '+'), a false alarm may sound after warm-up. In such cases, rotate the dial towards '-' until the first LED is lit or about to be lit to set the correct sensitivity.
  3. Trace the sensor around the suspected leak source. The detector will emit an increasing frequency ticking tone as gas concentrations rise. The tone decreases when gas concentration falls. The 6 gas level indicators will also change accordingly.
  4. To localize any leak, rotate the sensitivity dial towards '-' to reduce sensitivity. This will result in a slower ticking rate and fewer gas level indicators being lit.
  5. The red low battery indicator will illuminate when approximately 0.5 hours of operation time remains. Replace batteries promptly.

Detectable Combustible Gases

The following is a partial list of detectable combustible gases:

  • Natural gas
  • Propane
  • Gasoline
  • Butane
  • Spraying Fuel
  • Methane
  • Ethanol
  • Ethers
  • Rubbing Alcohol (Isopropyl alcohol or Propanol)
  • Ammonia
  • Naphtha

Applications

The device can be used in various industries requiring gas leak localization, including:

  • Oil production
  • Smelting
  • Chemical production
  • Sewage treatment
  • Coal gas extraction
  • Mining
  • Tunnel construction
  • Storage facilities
  • Brewing
  • Pharmaceuticals

Maintenance and Storage

  1. The detector requires minimal maintenance or repair to remain operational, as it does not need periodic calibration. Adjust sensitivity before each use to prevent false alarms or reduced sensitivity. Verify continued operation by checking with test gas.
  2. If the device has not been used for an extended period (over 1-2 months), it is recommended to use new batteries. Turn on the device and allow it to warm up for several minutes.
  3. Wipe the detector with a damp cloth as needed. Do not use abrasive solvents or other cleaners on the detector's surface or sensors.
  4. The detector is not waterproof; avoid contact between the sensor and water.
  5. This product should not be stored or used in the following environments:
    • Humid or dusty environments
    • Environments containing caustic gases or sulfur dioxide
    • High temperature, high humidity, or direct strong sunlight
  6. Turn off the detector when not in use. Remove batteries before long-term storage.

Warranty

The manufacturer's warranty is one year. An additional "1-year Extended Warranty" (totaling two years from purchase) can be applied for by visiting the website and registering purchase information. Yeezou's liability and the buyer's remedy under this warranty are limited to the repair or replacement of the device.

The company is not responsible under warranty for circumstances including:

  1. Failure to use the product according to the manual's instructions.
