TaylorMade SIM Tuning Guide

Fueled by a history of innovation and breakthrough technologies, the next generation of metalwoods from TaylorMade Golf pushes the boundaries of design and performance. The 2020 SIM family reshapes driver technology with a powerful new asymmetric sole shape engineered for increased clubhead speed and less drag through improved aerodynamics. Building on TaylorMade's legacy, which includes movable weight technology, non-traditional crown coloring for advanced optics and alignment, and the first-ever metalwood in 1979, the SIM family disrupts conventional driver design. With SIM, SIM Max, and SIM Max D, a new shape of performance has arrived.

An image displays three TaylorMade SIM drivers, labeled SIM, SIM Max, and SIM Max D, showcasing their distinct designs. Below the drivers, a TaylorMade torque wrench is depicted, used for adjusting the club's settings.

Adjusting the SIM family is simple with the TaylorMade torque wrench. Use the wrench to loosen the screw in the center of each weight, then slide the weight to the desired location and lock it in place by tightening the screw until you hear an audible "click" noise from the wrench.

To adjust the Loft Sleeve, loosen the screw in the heel until the clubhead releases from the shaft. Align the desired loft as marked on the sleeve with the line on the back of the hosel and tighten the screw until you hear an audible "click" noise.

Step 1: Loft Sleeve [Loft, Lie & Face Angle Adjustment]

The SIM, SIM Max, SIM Max D, and SIM Ti Fairway feature a 4-degree Loft Sleeve™, which allows for adjustment of loft, lie, and face angle. There are 12 possible positions to fine-tune your ball flight.

A circular diagram illustrates the TaylorMade Loft Sleeve adjustment system. The center shows the SIM logo and 'STD LOFT'. Around the perimeter, 12 positions are detailed, indicating adjustments for loft (e.g., +0.75°, -1.5°, +2°), lie angle (e.g., 59.5°, 58.75°, 58°), and spin rate (RPM) for each setting, categorized by 'UPRT', 'HIGHER', 'LOWER', and 'STD LOFT'.

Each Click of the Sleeve

  • Movement increases or decreases loft 0.5° – 0.75°
  • Movement increases or decreases lie angle 0.5° – 0.75°
  • Movement increases or decreases face angle 1.0° – 2.0°

Step 2: Ball Flight Control Adjustment [Movable Weight Track System]

The SIM Driver is unique because of the Movable Weight Track System. The single, 10g weight enables the player to create their preferred shot shape.

Three distinct configurations of the SIM driver head are shown to illustrate ball flight control. The 'MAX FADE' configuration shows the weight positioned towards the toe, indicating a dispersion of 20 yards. The 'NEUTRAL' configuration shows the weight in the center of the track, also indicating a 20-yard dispersion. The 'MAX DRAW' configuration shows the weight positioned towards the heel, again indicating a 20-yard dispersion.

MAX FADE: POSITION THE WEIGHT TOWARDS THE TOE. DISPERSION 20 YDS.

NEUTRAL: POSITION THE WEIGHT IN THE CENTER OF THE TRACK. DISPERSION 20 YDS.

MAX DRAW: POSITION THE WEIGHT TOWARDS THE HEEL. DISPERSION 20 YDS.
