What is VH1160?
The VH1160 is a compact hardware device designed for automating Electronic Control Unit (ECU) conformance tests. It is integrated into the "CANoe Test Package VAG" for High-Speed CAN tests and LIN conformance tests. Its application areas include test implementations based on CANoe.
Overview of Advantages
- Simple interface via USB 2.0.
- Typical voltage supply via a 4 mm socket or a 4-pin round connector with a mechanical lock.
- Independent supply for automotive terminals IGN, Vbatt, and GND, switchable via relay. The current state is indicated by an LED immediately.
- Program-controlled measurement of ECU current consumption for easy sleep/wake-up monitoring.
- Configurable output voltage (independent of input voltage) common to terminals IGN and Vbatt. Overload state is indicated by an LED immediately.
Highlights
- Manages ground offset of the ECU and of the LIN line.
- Limits the recessive level of the LIN line.
- Provides short circuit and open circuit options for CAN and LIN lines.
- Includes analog and digital I/O connections.
Scope of Delivery
- VH1160 hardware with USB interface.
- VH1160 manual.
- Installation CD.
- USB cable (2 meters).
Optionally Available
- Y cable (required for CAN/LIN network disturbances).
- External voltage supply.
- Termination resistor with 120 Ω (CANterm120).
Diagram and Device Description
The VH1160 device features connections for power (30/Vbatt), ignition (15/IGN), ground (31/GND), and fault injection. It also includes network connections for CAN/LIN. The diagram illustrates how these connections relate to the ECU and the LIN line, including options for ground offset, recessive level limiting, and short/open circuit fault injection.
The physical device is shown in two views. The front view displays the Vector logo, model name "VH1160", status LEDs for Power, 30/Vbatt, 15/IGN, 31/GND, Overload, Fault Injection, and Network. It also shows connection ports labeled 30, 15 IGN, 31 GND, and Network. The side view confirms the "VH1160" model name, CE marking, and "Made in Germany" label.
