Accessories Included in the box with your OrCam base and head units are the following:  Two mounts for attaching OrCam to your eyeglasses  Three adapters of varying sizes to fit eyeglass frames (non-round) with a thickness ranging from 1.0 – 5.5 mm  Alan key for fastening mounts to eyeglasses  Power charger and adapter  USB cable with standard USB to micro USB connector  Belt clip for Base unit  Shim adapter for bone conductor hearing piece on Head unit  User manual Restrictions The following restrictions apply to the current version of OrCam:  OrCam cannot be used at outside at night or in low-light conditions.  The Head unit can only be mounted on the right-hand side. You can use either hand to point at objects, although the right hand is recommended for the current configuration.

Battery Before you can begin using OrCam, you must charge the battery in the Base unit for eight (8) hours.  A fully charged battery can work for up to three hours with constant use and eighteen hours on Standby.  Standby starts automatically after five minutes if no trigger is received.  After the initial eight hour charge, the battery requires four hours from depleted to full.  OrCam notifies you regarding how much battery power you have remaining. Assembly Head unit The Head unit attaches a mount, permanently fastened to a pair of eyeglasses. The mount is attached to the temple (side piece) of the eyeglass frame.  To attach the Head unit 1. Select the adapter that most closely matches the thickness of the temple of your eyeglass frame. 2. Fit the adapter and Head mount to the right-hand temple. (Currently, only right-hand mounts are available.) 3. Ensure that the mount is aligned with the sight line of the glasses. If OrCam is angled too high or too low, you will not be able to accurately trigger the device. 4. Use the Alan key to tighten the mount to the frame. 5. Snap OrCam into the mount and verify that the camera is properly aligned. Base unit The Base unit can be clipped to your belt or placed in a pocket, pouch, or other carrying case.  We recommend that the cord be underneath your clothing so it does not catch on things in your environment. (Tuck the cord behind your ear where it comes off the Head unit.)

It can be damaged if dropped, burned, punctured, or crushed.  OrCam is designed to work in ambient temperatures between 32° and 104° F (0° and 40° C). The device can be damaged if used outside of this temperature rage. Store in a cool, dry place.  OrCam is water resistant but not waterproof. The Head unit can be used in a light rain or drizzle, as long as the Base unit is covered and protected.  Do not use OrCam in heavy rain, when at the beach or swimming pool.  Do not submerge OrCam in any type of liquid.  Do not expose the device to chemicals, such as household cleaners, aerosol sprays, solvents, alcohol, or ammonia.  Do not open the Head or Base units.  There is a cord connecting the Head and Base units. Do not disconnect this cord from either Head or Base unit.  Do not pull on the cord or cut it in any way.  Do not attempt to repair OrCam by yourself. Only qualified OrCam personnel may repair or service your device.  Do not attempt to replace the battery; you may damage the battery, which could cause overheating and even injury. CAUTION: RISK OF EXPLOSION IF BATTERY IS REPLACED BY AN INCORRECT TYPE.  Use only the AC adapter supplied with your device. Using another AC adapter may invalidate the warranty and could cause severe injury.  Do not force a connector into a port or apply excessive pressure to a button. This may cause damage that is not covered under the warranty. If a connector does not insert easily, check for obstructions in the port and verify that you have the correct connector for that port.  Ensure that the rubber cover on the bottom of the Base unit is closed whenever the connectors are not in use.  Exposing the Base unit to magnetic fields may damage the unit or erase your data.  When you are using OrCam or charging the battery, it is normal for the Base unit to get warm. If the unit becomes excessively hot, leaks, or gives off a burning smell, turn off the device immediately and contact your OrCam representative.
