and slidethe two shaftstogether.Rotatethe attachment
shaft untilthe button locks into the positioninghole.

NOTE: lf the button does not releasecompletelyin the
positioninghole, the shafts are not locked into place.
Slightlyrotatefrom side to side uniil the button is locked
into place.

The U.S. EnvironmentalProtectionAgency(EPA),theCaliforniaAirResourcesBoard
(CARB),and TechtronicIndustriesNodh America, Inc., are pleasedto explain the
EmissionsControlSystemWarrantyon your 2007 model year non-roador smallofiroad engine.In California,new equipmentthat uses smalloff-road enginesmust be
designed,built, and equippedto meet the states stringentanti-smogstandafds.In
other states, new 2000 and later model year non-road enginesmust be designed,
built, and equipped at the tjme of sale to meet the U.S. EPA regulationsfof small
non-roadengines.The non-road enginemust be free from defects in materialsand
workmanshipwhich cause it to fail to conform with U.S. EPAstandardsfor the first
two years of engine use from the date of sale to the ultimatepurchaser Techtronic
IndustriesNorth America, Inc., must wafrant the emissioncontrol sysiem on your
non-road or small off-roadenginefor the perjod oftime listed above providedthere
has been no abuse, neglect, or improper maintenanceof your non-road or small
off-road engine.
Youremissioncontrolsystemmay includepartssuch as the carburetororfuel injection
system,the ignitionsystem,catalytic converters,fuel tanks, valves,filters,clamps,
connectors,and other associatedcomponents.Also included may be hoses, belts
and connectors,and other emission-relatedassemblios.
Wherea warantable conditionexists,TechtronicIndustriesNorth America,Inc.,will
repair your non-road or small off-road engine at no cost to you, includingdiagnosis, parts, and labor perfomed at an authorizedseruicecenter for RYOBIobfand
outdoor products.
MANUFACTURER'S WARRANW COVERAGE:
This product's enissions control system is waranted for two years. lf any emission-relatedpart on your engineis defociive,the part will be repaifedor replacedby
TechtronicIndustriesNolrh America, Inc.,free of charge.
OWNER'S WARRANTY RESPONSIBILITIES
(a) As the non-road or small off-road engine ownel you are responsiblefof
the performanco of the required maintenance listed in your operator's manual.
Techtronic Industries North America, Inc-, recommends that Vou retajn all receipts coveringmaintenanceon your non-road or small off-road engine, but
Techtronic lndustries North America, lnc., cannot deny warianty solely for the
lack of receipts or for your failure to ensure the performance of all scheduled
maintenance.Any replacemontpart or service that is equivalent in performance
and durability may be used in non-waranty maintenance or repatrs, and shall
not reduce the waranty obligations of Techtroniclndustries North America, Inc.
(b)As the non-road or small off-road engineowner,you should be aware,however,
that TechtronicIndustriesNorth America, lnc., may deny you wa(anty coverage if
your non-road or small off-road engine or a part has failed due to abuse, neglect,
impfoper maintenance,or unapprovedmodifications.
(c) You are responsiblefor presentingyour non-road or small off-road engineto an
authorizedseruicedealeras soon as a problem exists.The watranty repairsshould
be completed in a reasonableamo!nt of time, not to exceed 30 days.

DEFECT WARRANW COVERAGE REQUIREMENTS:
(a)The wafianty period begins on the date the engineor equipmentis deliveredto
an ultimatepurchase[
(b) General EmissionsWaranty Covefage. Techtronic Industries North Amefica,
Inc., warants to the ultimate purchaserand each subsequentpurchaserthat your
non-roador smalloff-roadengineis designed,built, and equippedatthe time of sale
to conform with all applicableregulationsadopted by the CaliforniaAir Resources
Boardorthe UnitedStates EnvironmentalProtectionAgency;and that it is free from
defects in materialsand workmanshipwhichcausethe enginetofailto conformwith
applicableregulationslor a period oftwo yearsfrom the date the non-roador small
off-roadengine is purchasedby the initialpurchase[
(c) The warranty on emissions-relatedparts wjll be interpreted as follows: Any
warranted part that is not scheduledfor replacementas requiredin the Emissions
MaintenanceScheduleand WarrantyParis List set forth below is warfantedfor two
years.lfany such part {includingany pad that is schedlled only for regularinspection)
fails during the period of wairanty coverage,it will be repairedor replaced at any

AuthorizedSeruiceCentef at no charge.Any such part repairedor replaced
under warrantywill be wa(anted for the remainingwarranty period.A statementto
the effect of "repair or replace as necessary"would not reduce the period of war
ranty coverage.Any warranted part that is scheduledfor replacementas required
maintenancein the EmissionslvaintenanceSchedule and Waranty Parts List is
waranted for the period of time prior to the first scheduledreplacementpoint for
that part. Any such part repairedor replaced under watranty is waranted for the
remainderof the period priof to the first scheduled replacementpojnt, and will be
repairedor replacedat any HYOBI@
AuthorizedSeruiceCenter for no charge until
that reolacementooint is reached.

Techtronic Industries North America, Inc., shall remedy warranty defects at any
authorized RYOBI@
Authorized SeNice Centef, including any distribution center
that may be franchisedto s€ryice the subiect engines.Any diagnosticwork done
at a RYOBI@
AuthorizedSeryiceCentershall be free of chargeto the owner if such
work detefminesthat a warrantedpart is defective.Any manufacturerapprovedof
equivalentreplacementpart may be used for any wa(anty maintenanceor repairs
on emission-relatedparts, and must be providedfree of chargeto the owner if the
part is still under warranty.Techtroniclndustries Nodh America, Inc., is liable fof
damages to other engine components caused by the failure of a warranted part
still under warranty.
Add-on or modifiedpaftsthatare notoxemptedbytheCaliforniaAk BesourceBoard
may not be used. The use of any non-exemptedadd-on or modified parts will be
groundsfor disallowingawaranty claim.TechtronicIndustri€sNorth America,Inc.,
will not be liableto waffant failuresof waranted parts caused by the use of a nonexemotedadd-on or modified oart.
