The subdividing of the subject matter plus the loose leaf form will facilitate the updating of the manual as new or revised components and service procedures are introduced. Each page of this service manual will be identified in the lower right hand comer and as new or revised pages are published it will be easy to keep the manual up to date by following the filing instructions on the cover letter. This Service Manual is a valuable service tool and care should be taken to keep it up to date by prompt and proper filling of subsequent pages as they are issued. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS PRECAUTIONS TO BE OBSERVED BEFORE AND DURING SERVICING TO AVOID POSSIBLE EXPOSURE To Excesstve MICROWAVF FNFRGY- A. Do not operate or allow the oven to be operated with the door open. B. Make the following safety checks on all ovens to be serviced before activating the magnetron or other microwave source. and make repairs as necessary. (1 ) Interlock operation (2 ) Proper door closing ( 3 ) Seal and sealing surfaces ( arcing. wear, and other damage ). t 4 ) Damage to or loosenlng of hinges and latches. ( 5 ) Evidence of dropping or abuse. . Before turning on microwave power for any service test or inspection within the microwave generating compartments, check the magnetron. wave guide or transmission line, and cavity for proper alignment, integrity, and connections. . Any defective or misadjusted components in the interlock. monitor, door seal and microwave generation and transmission systems shall be repaired, replaced, or adjusted by procedures described in this manual before the oven is released to the owner. . A microwave leakage check to verify compliance with the Federal performance standard should be performed on each oven prior to release to the owner. . Operate the oven from a properly grounded AC outlet capable of supplying 120 volts at 15 amperes. REPMRlNG METHOD OF SEVERAL BREAKDOWN 1. Repair when there occured large amounts microwave leakage. There are many factors which may cause microwave leekinr. Following mentioned may be the main cause of microwave leakage: (l) The door d-rnrmed. the hinge loosed or damlped that caused the door can not close tightly. (2) The door pressing cover or the embed pieee damaged or come all. (3) Obvious damage or uneven oi the oven. (at There are tilth between the door end the oven. (5) The door and the oven are serious loosed alter the door closed. it there still exist microwave leahage. measure near the magnetron with the probe of the microwave leakage mea~ sure. it the leakage is larger. the oven should be turned oil and check whether the tour screws which its the triag- netrom have been loosed. if loosed, twist them tightly with socket wrench. ii the torn screws are fixedly. then the magnetron should be take down to check the copper filament weaved washer oi the magetrou has been placed well or whether the wave guide housing mpling has been oxidised or have lacquer on it. [I do have. scrape the all» dized layer or the lacquer off. when fix the magnetron, the copper filament weaved washer must be placed well. the screw] muat be twist tightly. 11m. turn am the oven and measure again until it comply with the requirement. n the microwave leakage is larger u those little puaitltm or the window board. the oven should be turned on to m- speet whether there are crack anwng them (fig. 5 — 17). it several holes formed a crack . it would enlarge the ml- erowave leakage. it that is the case, it indicates the door has broken. and thwld be replaced with a new door. 1. Means or repair when the oven can heat. but the t-rrnl-bk glass an' t more Firstly. check whether the turntable holder is placed correctly. it it Is correct. then pull out the power plug and talle down the turntable combination, measure the resistance value of the turntable motor with R X lK grade of a avometer. if it la open * eireulted. it indlutea the turntable motor has: broken. and should be replaced by a new. same model one. it the resistance value is between is - 22K. it Indicates the turntable motor Is normal. then check the connecting shalt weave. it the plastics which the shalt insert in has broken. a new shalt weave should replace it. 4 3. Repair when the overt can heat. but the lamp is not net. Pull out the power plug, take down the cabinet and discharge the capacitor. Pull out the two terminal plugs of the lamp. measure the two plugs of the lamp with the R x loll grade ol’ a avorneter. it it la n.“ — nlrrzulted. it lndirztes the lam: has broken. and should be replaced bv a same model one. unann- Figd - 16 a. Turn of! the overt . null out the power plug. take down the cabinet. discharge the capacitor . then turn the [an with hand to see whether it it moving flexibly. if not. It indlutes that the oil bearing of the [an motor has run off the oil, and should take down the fan oumblnatlom to repair the motor. Loosen the two screws which [is the bearing out the shaft and the bearing. and rinse them with kerosene (ATTENTION: The bearing can only be wiped with a silk which moistened with kerosene rather than be washed in the kerosene because there are felt on it. if the ielt are united with kerosene. then the engine oil can not be sutked up. ). After the bearing being cluned. the lelt should be refuted fully with engine oil (for when the oven ls operating. the engine oil empty into the' oil bearing slowly). Fix the bearing cover with two screws. turn the in around till it can move flexibly. “then insult them to me oven. and plug in the two terminal plugs. if the tan can move flexibly, then the winding of the fan motor should be examined. Measure the winding with R X [00 grade of a avometer. II' It is open - circuited. it indicate! the winding 0! the [in motor has broken, and should be re- placed by a new. same model one.
