TheGTI‐MW300Lisahighperformance,low‐powerWLANWiFiModulewithhighlyintegratedSystem‐on‐Chip(SoC)
solutiondesignedforabroadarrayofsmartdevicesforInternetofThings(IoT),
Machine‐to‐Machine(M2M),homeautomation,andSmartEnergyapplications.Ahighdegreeofintegrationenables
verylowsystemcostsrequiringonlyasingle3.3Vpowerinput,a38.4MHzcrystal,andSPIFlash.IthasbeenIntegrated
withonboardsheetmetalstampingantennaandanotherU.FLconnectoroptionalforexternalantenna.TheSoC
includesafull‐featuredWLANsubsystempoweredbyprovenandmatureIEEE802.11n/g/bMarvelltechnology.The
WLANsubsystemintegratesaWLANMAC,baseband,anddirect‐conversionRFradiowithintegratedPA,LNA,and
transmit/receiveswitch.ItalsointegratesaCPUsubsystemwithintegratedmemorytorunMarvellWLANfirmwareto
handlerealtimeWLANprotocolprocessingtooff‐loadmanyWLANfunctionsfromthemainapplicationCPU.The
88MW300applicationsubsystemispoweredbyanARMCortex‐M4FCPUthatoperatesupto200MHz.Thedevice
supportsanintegrated512KBSRAM,128KBmaskROM,andaQSPIinterfacetoexternalFlash.AnintegratedFlash
Controllerwitha32KBSRAMcacheenablesexecuteInPlace(XIP)supportforfirmwarefromFlash.TheSoCisdesigned
forlow‐poweroperationandincludesseverallow‐powerstatesandfastwake‐uptimes.Multiplepowerdomainsand
clockscanbeindividuallyshutdowntosavepower.TheSoCalsohasahigh‐efficiencyinternalPAthatcanbeoperatedin
low‐powermodetosavepower.ThemicrocontrollerandWLANsubsystemscanbeplacedintolow‐powerstates,
independently,supportingavarietyofapplicationusecases.AninternalDC‐DCregulatorprovidesthe1.8Vrailforthe
WLANsubsystem.TheSoCprovidesafullarrayofperipheralinterfacesincludingSSP/SPI/I2S(3x),UART(3x),I2C(2x),
GeneralPurposeTimersandPWM,ADC,DAC,AnalogComparator,andGPIOs.Italsoincludesahardwarecryptographic
engine,RTC,andWatchdogTimer.The88MW300includesahighspeedUSBOn‐The‐Go(OTG)interfacetoenableUSB
audio,video,andotherapplications.AcompletesetofdigitalandanaloginterfacesenabledirectinterfacingforI/O
avoidingtheneedforexternalchips.TheapplicationCPUcanbeusedtosupportcustomapplicationdevelopment
avoidingtheneedforanothermicrocontrollerorprocessor.
