(2) Description on some terminology 1) Bluetooth is a radio technology that connects devices, such as mobile phones and headsets, without wires or cords over a short distance (approx.10meters). - Because of electronic interference with other devices, abnormal operations or noise may occur. Electronic interference can occur because Bluetooth uses a frequency range which is used by Industrial, scientific, medical devices, a microwave oven, or a wireless LAN. Bluetooth devices must be apart from these devices. 30 - Depending on environments where Bluetooth devices are used, abnormal operations or noise may occur. If your body interfere signal transmission, abnormal operations or noise may occur. If part of your body like hands contacts around radio circuit area sending or receiving electronic waves, abnormal operations or noise may occur. Because radio wave strength is changed by an obstacle, such as wall, partition, or others, noise may occur depending on your position. - During a call, a noise may take place if the unit and the gateway device, such as mobile phone, are not located close enough to radio communicate. If this condition continues, the Bluetooth connection between ABT-C100 ABT C100 and the gateway device may be disconnected disconnected. - Functions of each Bluetooth device can be different according to realization of their company. To g get more information: www.bluetooth.com. 2) Bluetooth profiles are predefined functions by Bluetooth SIG for many kinds of device dependant protocols. Bluetooth gateway, such as mobile phone, supports either the headset profile, the hands-free profile, or both. To implement a profile, all mandatory features must be supported. - Headset profile: mono headset profile - Hands-free profile : the profile proper to make a call through the connected mobile phone - Advanced Audio Distribution Profile / Audio Video Remote Control Profile(A2DP/AVRCP) : specification which can play stereo 31 3) Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) is Bluetooth profile which can deliver stereo sound. To enjoy stereo music, both Bluetooth devices connected together support A2DP. 4) Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP) is Bluetooth profile that a device can remote control the connected device. To use AVRCP, both Bluetooth devices connected together support AVRCP. 5) Pairing creates a unique and encrypted link between two Bluetooth devices and lets them communicate with each other. 6) Pairing mode is the state in which the Bluetooth gateway device can pair. After paired, it can be connected. 7) Connected mode is the condition that a two Bluetooth devices are li k d ttogether linked th llogically. i ll IIn thi this state, t t th the audio di can b be lilistened d and d callll can be made 8) Standby mode is when a Bluetooth device is idle waiting for a call or audio play play. The Blue connection is made made. 9) If you do not connect a Bluetooth device for 30 minutes after power up, the unit goes powered off. 32 (3) Safety and general information 1) Safety guidelines - Do not use ABT-C100 in a danger of ignition of flammable gases. -To avoid any damage or malfunction, do not drop the unit from high places. - Do not modify, repair and disassemble the unit at discretion. - Keep away the unit from humidity, water, and any other liquid.
