Please read this user’s manual carefully before use. Brief introduction 1. Bluetooth wireless communication technology Bluetooth is a standard of close range radio-communication technology that was drawn up by Ericsson, IBM, Intel, Nokia and Toshiba. With Bluetooth technology, we can achieve the highest transmission rate among mobile phones, computers, printers, PDAs and other devices. The max transmission range of class II is 10 meters while the max transmission range of class I can reach up to 100 meters. 2. About BTE002 BTE002 is a Bluetooth mono headset. Overview Multi-function button(MFB): Turn on/off the headset, pair,answer and reject incoming call, redial last number LED indicator VOL-: Volume down/voice dial/microphone mute VOL+: Volume up/call transfer/microphone mute Ear hook USB charging jack Ear cap Microphone Loudspeaker 2. Charging the headset The headset comes with a built-in rechargeable battery, prior to using it, it is recommendable to charge the battery fully for the first time. Connect the charger to a standard power outlet and the charger plug to the charging jack of the headset. The red LED will be on while charging. It takes about 2 hours to charge the battery fully. When charging has completed, the red LED will be off. When the headset is on and the battery becomes low, the red LED flashes twice and the headset emits a string of indication tones every 10 seconds. Please recharge the battery fully as described above. Remark: When you can’t turn off the headset, you can turn it off as soon as you charge it. Basic operation 1. Turning on/off the headset Function Operation Turn on the headset Indication Tone Blue LED is on A long “DI” for 1 second tone LED indicator Press and hold MFB button for about 6 seconds, and release it until the blue LED is on Turn off the Press and hold MFB button Red LED is on A long “DI” headset for 2~3 seconds, and for 1 second tone release it until the red LED is on Remark: In order to save power, the headset will switch off automatically if no devices can be connected after 10 minutes. 2. Pairing the headset with a Bluetooth mobile phone Prior to using the headset for the first time, you have to pair it with a Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone. The pairing procedures are subject to different models of mobile phones. Please refer to your mobile phone user’s manual for further information. The general pairing procedures are as follows: 1) Place the headset and your mobile phone where they are easily viewable by no more than 1 meter apart; 2) Make sure the headset is off, otherwise turn it off first; 3) Press and hold MFB button for about 12 seconds, and then release the button after you hear the third indication tone(The first one is a “DI” tone, the second one is “DU”, the third one is “DONG-DONG”) or see red and blue LEDs flash alternately. The headset successfully enters into pairing mode; 4) Activate your mobile phone’s Bluetooth function and set your mobile phone to search for Bluetooth devices. After the search is completed, select “BTE002” from the Bluetooth device list; 5) According to the indication, enter password or PIN No:”0000” and press ” Yes” or “confirm”; 6) When the pairing is completed, the blue LED will flash twice every 5 seconds; 7) Go back to your mobile phone’s main menu. For certain mobile phone models, a headset icon will be shown on the screen. You should now be able to make calls using the headset. Remarks: Pairing mode will last 2 minutes. The headset will switch to standby mode automatically if it can’t connect to any devices after 2 minutes. If you want to continue pairing the headset with a Bluetooth device, please switch off the headset first and then re-pair according to steps 1~7 mentioned above. After successful paring, the headset and your mobile phone will remember each other, no need to re-pair at next use. Every time the headset is turned on, it will connect to the last connected device automatically. If you want to pair it with other devices, please turn off the Bluetooth function of the last connected devices first and pair the headset with the new device according to steps 1~7 mentioned above. 4. Connecting the headset with a Bluetooth mobile phone You can make a call with the headset when it connects to a Bluetooth mobile phone, general connecting methods are as following: 1) The headset often automatically connects to a Bluetooth mobile phone when it sucessfully pair with a Bluetooth mobile phone. If the mobile phone prompt “connect”, you just need to press “Yes” or “confirm” button (It varies from different models of mobile phones). 2) Every time the headset is turned on, it will connect to the last connected device automatically. 3) When the headset is standby and doesn’t connect to any devices, press MFB button once, the headset will connect to the last connected device. 4) You can find “BTE002” in the Bluetooth list of the headset and connect. 5. Clearing the pairing list After successful paring, the headset and your mobile phone will remember each other, no need to re-pair at next use. The headset can remember 8 paired devices. When the number of devices exceeds 8, the first one will be replaced. You can also operate the headset to clear all pairing information. Operating method: Simultaneously press and hold MFB button and Volume up button when the headset is in standby mode or pairing mode, and release the buttons until the red and blue LEDs are on or hearing 2 “DU” tones, it takes about 5 seconds to clear the pairing list of the headset. Remarks: You can cancel the pairing list when the headset is turned on and you can not cancel the pairing list when the headset is turned off. The headset will turn off automatically when the pairing list is cancelled. 6. Wearing the headset This headset is suitable for both ears. the ear hook can turn freely, please refer to the following charts to adjust. After wearing the headset well ,please turn the microphone of headset towards user’s mouth, then you can enjoy the best comfort and conversation. Suitable for right ear suitable for left ear 7. When the volume of the headset is adjusted to max. or min. you will hear a ”DU” tone. When pressing the answer button on some mobile phones, the call will be transferred to the cell phone. You have to transfer the call to the headset manually then. Please refer to your mobile phone user’s manual for further information. Care and maintenance Read the following recommendations before using the headset. Following these you will be able to enjoy our product for many years. Consider turning the headset off before placing it in your pocket or bag. If the MFB is accidentally depressed, your mobile phone may place an unintended call. Do not expose the headset to liquid, moisture or humidity to avoid the product’s internal circuit being affected. Don’t use abrasive cleaning solvents to clean the headset. Do not expose the headset to extremely high or low temperatures as this will shorten the life of electronic devices, destroy the battery or distort certain plastic parts. Don’t dispose of the headset in a fire as it will result in an explosion Don’t expose the headset to contact with sharp objects as this will cause scratches and damage. Don’t attempt to disassemble the headset as it may get damaged if you are not professional. In case the product doesn’t function properly, send it to the store you bought it. The staff will help you to solve the problem. FAQs 1. What to do when there are some noises? Please put your mobile phone and the headset on one side of you to get the best sound quality. 2. Why can’t my mobile phone connect to the headset? a) Ensure the headset has paired with your mobile phone; b) Make sure the Bluetooth function of your mobile phone is active; c) Ensure the headset and your mobile phone are within 10 meters and there are no barriers between them, such as walls and other electric devices. 3. I can’t turn off the headset. What shall I do now? When you start charging the headset, it will turn off automatically. Notes: 1. This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules.
