STOP!! STOP!! STOP!! STOP!! READ THIS FIRST! Warning You can be killed installing this device! You can be killed if the 5110 antennas come near electric power lines. Carefully read and follow all instructions in this manual. By nature of the installation, you may be exposed to hazardous environments and high voltage. Use caution when installing the outdoor system. The 5110B and 5110LB Wi-Fi cells contain a lithium-ion battery. To avoid the possibility of an explosion, the 5110B and 5110LB Wi-Fi cells should NOT be exposed to any temperatures higher than 85 degrees C. The RJ45 connectors of your Tropos 5110 source DC power on pins 4,5 and 7,8. While the IEEE 802.3 standards allow for pins 4,5 and 7,8 to be used for Power Over Ethernet, many vendors of hubs, switches, etc., do not adhere to the standard in this respect. Some products may be incompatible with this Power Over Ethernet capability. If such problems occur, use Ethernet cables that have no connections to the unused pins 4,5 and 7,8. The Tropos 5110 Wi-Fi Cell is installed in wet, outdoor locations. Make sure that secure closure caps are installed and all cable connections are securely fastened and waterproofed. The Tropos 5110 Wi-Fi Cell can only be used with approved antennas. See Appendix C, “Approved Antenna Configurations” for further information. Tropos Wi-Fi Cell Outdoor Installation Guide iii
