Installing the SoftwareIf you want to customise the use of the middle button,you need to install the software that accompanied themouse. Please proceed to proper installation based onthe version of Operating Software installed on yourComputer:Installing software under Windows 95 or 98Insert the software disc in your floppy disc drive, click the Start button, choose Run and type “a:\setup”,click OK and follow the instructions on screen.Installing software under Windows NT 4.0:Log in as Administrator or as a user who hasAdministrator privileges. Follow the same procedure asoutlined for installation under Windows 95.Installation software under Windows NT 3.5x and Windows 3.1x:From the File menu in Programme Manager, ChooseRun. Upon completion of software installationPS/2 users – When the mouse is connected to the PS/2port, the ValuMouse Wireless software will automaticallyenable the middle button functionality (specific to theapplication being used) under Win 3.1x, Win95 andWin98, WinNT 3.5x and WinNT 4.0x.Customising the Use of the Middle ButtonIf you would like to customise the specific functionalityof the middle button, follow these instructions based onthe Windows version on your PC.Under Windows 95, 98 and NT 4.0xRight click on the mouse icon in the system folder andclick on Open. This will bring up the KensingtonValuMouse Wireless Control panel. Under Windows 3.1x and NT 3.5xDouble click on the mouse icon on the desktop. Thiswill bring up the Kensington ValuMouse Wireless controlpanel. Trouble ShootingSymptom: No mouse movement.Possible Causes: (1) Make sure the mouse is securelyplugged in the PS/2 or USB port. (2) Make sure you have installedKensington ValuMouse Wirelesssoftware or the standard Microsoftmouse drivers included with yourWindows operating system.Symptom: The cursor on the screen remains atone spot or moves erratically.Possible Causes: Check the mouse cable for anybreaks or sharp twists.
