Quick Start GuideSR570acThis Quick Start Guide shows you how to set up and start using your new gateway.
INSTALLATIONLocate the splitter cable that is included with your SmartRG gateway. It has three ports.1. Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the wall jack installed by your service provider. Connect theother end to the WAN port on the gateway.2. Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to a LAN port on the gateway. Connect the other end to theEthernet port on your PC.3. Plug the power adapter to the wall outlet and then connect the other end of it to the Power port of thegateway.4. Turn on the unit by pressing the Power button on the side of the gateway.Your gateway is now automatically being set up to connect to the Internet. This process may take a few minutes tocomplete before you can begin using your Internet applications (browser, email, etc.).Notes:lIf you use 3G WAN service, connect the 3G USB data card to the USB port of the gateway.lIf you use DSL service, connect the supplied phone cable to a phone wall jack and the other end to the DSL port onthe gateway.lYou cannot use the xDSL uplink, 3G WAN service, and Ethernet uplink at the same time.If you are unable to connect to the Internet, confirm that all cable connections are in place and the gateway’spower is turned on.

QUICK GATEWAY CONFIGURATIONWarning: Do not press the Reset button unless you want to clear the current settings. The Reset button is in asmall circular hole on the rear panel. If you want to restore the default settings, insert a thin wire (such as a paperclip) into the hole, press the Reset button gently for 1 second, and then release the button. The system rebootsand returns to the factory defaults.Logging in to your gatewayTo change the settings on your gateway, you must log in the gateway's interface. Make sure that you havecompleted the steps in "INSTALLATION" before you begin.1. Open your internet browser application and type 192.168.1.1 into the address line. The authenticationdialog appears.5
2. Enter the default credentials shown below and click OK.User Name: admin Password: adminNote: Your service provider may use other settings. Contact your provider for details.3. At the bottom of the page, click Manage gateway (advanced). The gateway interface appears, showing theDevice Info summary page.Configuring the WAN manuallyIf the automatic connect process is unsuccessful, refer to the Advanced Setup >Layer 2 Interface and WANServices sections of the SmartRG SR570ac Gateway User Manual to manually establish a connection.
WiFi SetupTwo methods, WPS and Manual, are available for configuring your wireless connection. Perform the steps onthis page first, and then follow the instructions for the applicable method.1. In the left menu, click Wireless. The Wireless Basic page appears.2. If desired, in the SSID field, enter the network name to which you want your client devices connected.3. Continue with the steps for the method you prefer.7
WPS MethodIf the device you wish to connect to the Internet via your gateway supports the WPS secure WiFi connectionmethod, follow these steps.1. In the left menu, click Wireless. Click the wireless band that you want to configure and then click Security.2. In the Enable WPS field, verify that Enabled is selected..3. Click Apply/Save to commit your selection.4. Within 2 minutes, activate WPS on the 3r- party device to which you wish to connect. The device may havea pushbutton on its exterior or a software interface is used to initiate WPS connection. To learn how to usethe WPS feature on your client device, refer to its documentation.Your device should now be connected to your gateway wirelessly using WPS. If you encounter problems with theWPS setup such as connection failure, refer to the documentation for your client device for further instructions.
Manual MethodYou can manually configure a wireless connection. Once your gateway’s other parameters are set up, follow thesesteps.1. In the left menu, click Wireless. Click the wireless band that you want to configure and then click Security.2. Scroll down to the Manual Setup AP section.3. If your gateway supports multiple wireless networks, select the SSID of the network you wish to configure.You will need this ID for Step 8.4. Select the desired Network Authentication method. Make sure that the host devices you intend to usesupport the authentication method that you select.5. If desired, choose a WPA/WAPI passphrase and type it in to this field. To use the default passphrase, clickClick here to display and copy the passphrase. You will need this passphrase for Step 8.6. Select any desired encryption preferences in the next three fields.7. Click Apply / Save.8. Follow the Wi-Fi connection instructions provided with your client device to connect to the gateway. Enterthe SSID name that you selected in Step 3 and the passphrase from Step 5 in the corresponding fields onthe network setup screen of your Wi-Fi client device.9
OPTIONAL WALL MOUNTUsing a Phillips-head screwdriver, remove the mountfrom the bottom of the gateway.Using the template below, attach the two screws tothe wall. Using wall anchors is recommended.Slide the back of the gateway down on the screws.Note: If a bracket is included with your gateway, slidethe bracket into the holes on the back of the gatewayand then slide the bracket down on the screws.4 1/8”  (104mm)GatewayFront1/16” (2-3mm) Wall Anchor
