Operation of the turn signal light in the
above cases can be set to “On" or
"Oil“ by a SUBARU dealer, Consult
your SUBARU dealer for details. Also.
for models with a multl function dls-
piay, the setting can be changed using
the display. For details, refer to “flu!“
function display (Non—U5 vehicles only;

I Locking the doors
Press the 'E' button to lock all doors and
rear gate (5-door). An electronic chirp Ml
sound once and the turn signal lighls will
llash once.
It any ol the doors (or the rear gatellrunk
lid) is not lully closed. an electronic chirp
will sound five times and the turn signal
lights wil llash five times to alert you that
the doors (or the rear gale/think lid} are
not properly closed. When you close the
door. it will automatically lock and then an
electronic ctfirp will sound once and the
turn signal lights wnl flash once.

Press the 'J' button to unlock the driver‘s
door. An electronic chirp will sound twice
and the turn signal lights will llash twice.
To unlock all doors and me rear gate (5-
doorl, bnefly press the if“ button a
second time within 5 seconds
NOTE
it the intent-I bemoan the first and
second presses of the “‘7' button (tor
unlocking of all ol‘ the doors and the
roar gate) is oxtnmely short. the sys-
tem may not respond

Use this iunuion to find your vehicle
parked among many vehicles in a large
parking lot Provided you are within 30 leet
(10 meters) olthe vehicle. pressing the ‘U‘
button three times in a 5-second period
will cause your vehicle‘s ham to sound
once and its turn signal lights to flash three
times,
NOTE
if the interval between presses In too
short when you pros the “9' button
three times. the system may not re-
spond to the signals from the remote
transmitter

I Sounding a panic alarm
To activate the alarm, press the 'PANIC”
button once.
The horn will sound and the turn signal
Iigl’tE will flash.
To deactivate the panic alarm. press any
button on the remote transmitter. Unless a
button on the remote transmitter is
pressed. the alarm will be deactivated
after approxirnateiy 30 seconds.
I Selecting audible signal op-
eration
Using an electronic chirp. the system will
give you an audible signal when the doors
lock and unlock ll desired. you may turn
the audible signal ofl.
Perform the lollowing steps to deaarvate
the audible signal. You can also use the
same steps to restore the lunction.
1. Sit in the driver's seat and shut all
doors and the rear gate.
2. Hold down the REAR (UNLOCK) side
at the power door locking switch.
3. While holding down the REAR (UN-
LOCK) stde ol the power door locking
switch, pull the key out and re—insert It into
the Ignition switch at least 6 times wrthin
10 seconds alter Step 2
4. Open and close the driver's door once
within 10 seconds alter Step 3.
5. The turn signal lights flash 3 times to
indimte completion 0' the setting.
You may have the above settings done by
your SUBARU dealer. Also, lor models
with a multi function display. the setting
can be changed using the display. For
details. reler lo 'Multi lunction display
(Non-US vehicles only, it equipped)" ’73-

I Replacing the battery
CAUTION
- Do notlet dose oil or water get on

cing the battery.

mlttor when replacing the battery.

When the transmitter battery begins to get
weak, transmitter range will begin to
oeuease. Replace the battery as soon
as possible.
To replace the battery:

I Replacing lost transmitters
it you lose a transmitter or want to
purchase additional transmitters (up to
tour can be programmed), your transmit-
lers should be reprogrammed for security
reasons. For details. Contact ycur
SUBARU dealer and have me vansmitiers
programmed into the remote keyless entry
system.
