Charging a Battery
F6 mobile phone is powered with a rechargeable Li-ion battery. So
you must use only approved batteries and chargers. The phone can be
used when the battery is being charged. We suggest that you should
fully charge or discharge the battery for the first two to three times.
Make sure that the charging time lasts at least 4 hours (12 hours for
the first time). And the battery should be used until the phone switches
off automatically because of the low battery. To prolong the battery
life, you should fully charge it when charging the battery.
Charging the Battery with a travel charger
To charge the battery with a travel charger, please do as follows:
1.
With the battery in position on the phone, connect the lead from
the travel adapter to the bottom of the phone.
2.
Connect the adapter to a standard AC wall outlet. The battery
icon changing from blank to solid indicates that the charging is
22
in progress.
3.
When charging is finished (the battery icon becomes solid),
disconnect the adapter from the wall outlet first and then from
the phone.
Note:
When disconnecting the lead of the adapter from the phone, you should
press the buttons on both sides of it, otherwise it may be easily damaged.
Low Battery Indicator:
When the battery is low, you will hear a warning tone to remind you
to charge the battery. Also, a message of ‘Battery Low’ will be
displayed repeatedly at regular intervals while an empty battery icon
shows on the display. If the battery becomes too low for the
phone to operate, it switches off automatically
Switching the Phone On/Off

for about two
seconds until the phone is switched on.
2. If ‘PIN Check’ is set in your phone, please input the PIN code and
press ‘Enter’ key to connect your phone to the GSM network.
23
Note:
If you enter an incorrect PIN code for three times in succession, the code
will be locked and cannot be used until you re-enable it by entering the
PUK code.
3. If you have activated the function of ‘SIM Lock’ in a certain SIM
card, you’ll be required to enter your ‘Password’ if you want to use
a different SIM card. The phone will accept the new SIM card with
right password and requires no password the next time you switch
the phone on.
4. If the phone is out of service, “No Service” appears on the display.
In this case, you cannot make and receive calls. Wait a little while
for a better signal or move into an open area to regain the service.
5. To switch the phone off, press and hold the
key for about
two seconds.
WARNING:
Do not switch on the phone when the mobile phone using is prohibited or
when it may cause interference or danger. Moreover, you’d better take

different letter on the same key), just wait for a few seconds for the
cursor to automatically appear on the right of the one you entered, and
then select the next letter.

Using the Batteries
A rechargeable Li-ion standard battery powers your phone. The
following batteries are also available (ask your local dealer for further
details):
Type
Capacity
Talk Time
Standby Time
Li-ion
650mAh
2-3hrs
60-100hrs
Charge and discharge:
In order for the new battery to reach its best performance, please fully
charge and discharge it for the first two to three times when using.
Regarding the charging duration, you are suggested to charge the
battery for more than 10 hours (ignore ‘Charge Full’ displayed after
charging for about 2 or 3 hours).
Precautions for using the batteries:
1. Never use any charger or battery that is damaged in any way.
2. If you use the phone near the network’s base station, it uses less
power. Talk and standby time are greatly affected by the signal
strength on the cellular network and the parameters set by the
network operator.
99
3. Battery charging frequency depends on the remaining battery
charge, the type of battery and charger used. The battery can be
charged and discharged hundreds of times, but it will gradually
wear out. When the operation time (talk time and standby time) is
noticeably shorter than normal, it is time to buy a new battery.
4. If left unused, a fully charged battery will discharge itself over time.
5. Uses only approved batteries and chargers. When a charger is not in
use, disconnect it from the power source. Do not leave the battery
connected to a charger for more than a week, since overcharging
may shorten its life.
6. Extreme temperatures will affect the charging capacity of your
battery: it may require cooling or warming first.
Do not leave the
battery in hot or cold places, such as in a car in summer or winter,
as you will reduce the capacity and lifetime of the battery. Always
try to keep the battery at room temperature. A phone with a hot or
cold battery may temporarily not work, even when the battery is
fully charged. Li-ion batteries are particularly affected by
temperatures below 0 °C.
100
7. Do not short-circuit the battery. Accidental short-circuiting may
occur when a metallic object (coin, clip or pen) causes a direct
connection between the + and - terminals of the battery (metal strips
on the back of the battery), for example when you carry a spare
battery in a pocket or bag. Short-circuiting the terminals may
damage the battery or the object causing the short circuit.
8. Dispose of the used batteries in accordance with local regulations.
Always recycle. Do not dispose of batteries in a fire.
Care and Maintenance
The phone is a product of high precision and super craftsmanship and
should be treated with care. The suggestions below will help you to
fulfill any warranty obligations and allow you to enjoy using this
product for many years. When using your phone, battery, charger, or
any accessories, please:
♦ Keep the phone and all its parts and accessories out of small
children’s reach.

it or scratching it with a sharp thing.
♦ Do not store the phone in extremely hot places. High temperatures
may shorten the life of electronic devices, damage the batteries, and
warp or melt certain plastics.
♦ Do not store the phone in extremely cold places. When the phone
warms up (to its normal operating temperature), moisture can form
inside the phone, which may damage the phone’s electronic circuit
boards.
♦ Do not drop, knock or shake the phone. Rough handling may break
internal circuit boards.
♦ Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents
to clean the phone. Wipe it with a soft cloth slightly dampened in a
mild soap-and-water solution.
102
♦ Do not paint the phone. Paint may clog the device’s moving parts
and prevent proper operation.
♦ Use only the supplied or an approved replacing antenna.
Unauthorized antennas, modifications of attachments may damage
the phone and may violate regulations governing radio devices.
♦ If the phone, battery, charger, or any accessories are not working
properly, take it to your nearest qualified service center.

IMPORTANT SAR INFORMATION
Your wireless phone is a radio transmitter and receiver. It is
designed and manufactured not to exceed the emission limits
for exposure to radiofrequency (RF) energy set by the FCC of
USA. These limits are part of comprehensive guidelines and
establish permitted levels of RF energy for the general
population. The guidelines are based on standards that were
developed by independent scientific organizations through
periodic and thorough evaluation of scientific studies. The
standards include a substantial safety margin designed to
assure the safety of all persons, regardless of age and health.
The exposure standard for wireless mobile phones employs a
unit of measurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate,
or SAR. The SAR limit set by the FCC is 1.6 W/kg. *
Tests for SAR are conducted with the phone transmitting at its
highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands.
Although the SAR is determined at the highest certified power
level, the actual SAR level of the phone while operating can
be well below the maximum value. This is because the phone
is designed to operate at multiple power levels so as to use
only the power required to reach the network. In general, the
closer you are to a wireless base station antenna, the lower the
power output.
Before a phone model is available for sale to the public, it
must be tested and certified to the FCC that it does not exceed
the limit established by the government adopted requirement
for safe exposure. The tests are performed in positions and
locations (e.g., at the ear and worn on the body) as required by
the FCC for each model. The highest SAR value for this
model phone when tested for use at the ear is 1.35 W/Kg and
when worn on the body, as described in this user guide, is
112
0.730 W/Kg. (Body-worn measurements differ among phone
models, depending upon available accessories and FCC
requirements). While there may be differences between the
SAR levels of various phones and at various positions, they all
meet the government requirement for safe exposure.
* In the United States and Canada, the SAR limit for mobile
phones used by the public is 1.6 watts/kg (W/kg) averaged
over one gram of tissue. The standard incorporates a
substantial margin of safety to give additional protection for
the public and to account for any variations in measurements.
Use only the supplied or an approved antenna. Unauthorized
antennas, modifications, or attachments could impair call
quality, damage the phone, or result in violation of FCC
regulations. Do not use the phone with a damaged antenna. If
a damaged antenna comes into contact with the skin, a minor
burn may result. Please contact your local dealer for
replacement antenna.
This transmitter must not be co-located or operating in
conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter.
Body-worn Operation
This device was tested for typical body-worn operations. To
comply with RF exposure requirements, a minimum
separation distance of 1.5 cm must be maintained between the
user’s body and the handset, including the antenna.
Third-party belt-clips, holsters, and similar accessories used
by this device should not contain any metallic components.
Body-worn accessories that do not meet these requirements
may not comply with RF exposure requirements and should be
113
avoided.
