® On Call ® Bluetooth Adapter User’s Manual (iOS) REF G124-15A English Welcome, and Thank you for choosing the On Call® Bluetooth® Adapter. On Call® Bluetooth® Adapter uses Bluetooth® Core Specification version 4.0 technologies for rapid build-up of simple links. Bluetooth® 4.0 version aimed at very low power applications running off a coin cell with a long distance of data transfer. Our On Call® Bluetooth® Adapter is intended for our On Call® Blood Glucose Monitoring System (BGMS) users who want to monitor their glucose levels remotely. In this manual The On Call® Bluetooth® Adapter provides a wireless Bluetooth® connection between your Apple iOS mobile device and your On Call® BGMS. So you can enjoy the comfortable and convenient data processing after blood glucose data transfer. Before using, read the instructions carefully. ® Please refer to user’s manual of On Call BGMS to learn about all the components this Bluetooth® Adapter works together. ® Use only On Call BGMS and Apple iOS mobile device with the On Call® Bluetooth® Adapter. Keep out of reach of children. On Call® Bluetooth® Adapter Overview BGMS and Device Compatibility On Call® BGMS: All On Call® meters with data transfer function. Compatible devices: Apple iOS mobile device: iphone4s, iphone5, itouch4s and itouch5 Replace the Battery One CR 2032 3.0V Coin Cell Battery has been preinstalled in the adapter. Please turn over the adapter and pull out the preinstalled insulation sheet to start use. The Red indicator light will flash when the battery is low, it can be used for only very short time from then on, please replace the battery as soon as possible according to the following steps: 1. Turn over the adapter and slide the battery cover off the adapter 2. Insert one CR 2032 3.0V coin cell battery into the battery carrier. Make sure it is aligned with the Plus (+) side facing up. 3. Slide the battery cover back on and make sure that it snaps shut. Note: Your battery will last longer if you remove it when you will not be using your Bluetooth® Adapter for a month or longer. Warning: Only use Lithium CR 2032 3.0V coin cell battery. Using any other type of battery may cause an explosion. Using your On Call® Bluetooth® Adapter The On Call® Bluetooth® Adapter is designed to be simply operated with only one control button. Button will provide alternative operations depending on the color and the duration of the time they it is pressed. 1. Turning the Bluetooth® Adapter on and off To turn the adapter on, press the button briefly. The On Call® Bluetooth® Adapter will shut itself off automatically after finishing the data transmission or 2 minutes after last action. 2. Pairing with your mobile device ® Before you can start using the Bluetooth adapter, you need to connect it to your On Call® Blood Glucose Meter. 1) Inert the headphone plug of your Bluetooth® Adapter into the headphone jack of your On Call® Blood Glucose Meter. 2) When the “PC” symbol appearing on screen of meter, it comes into data transmission mode. Note: If the meter does not show “PC” symbol, please refer to the relevant User’s Manual of blood glucose meter and coordinate with meter buttons to display the “PC” symbol on the screen. 3) Press button to start the automatic pairing with Bluetooth® Adapter and iOS device. Warning: Connect On Call® Bluetooth® Adapter ONLY to On Call® BGMS. Connecting it to any other device may make your readings inaccurate or damage one or both devices. Do not touch the metal part of the headphone ® plug of the Bluetooth Adapter by your hand. 3. Data transmission 1) After your iOS device finding and pairing with Bluetooth® Adapter, press command of “receiving data” in iOS interface. 2) Meter is displaying “to” and “PC” to indicate the data transmission to Bluetooth® Adapter, when the Green indicator light on Bluetooth® Adapter flashes every 1 second. 3) When the Meter appears “End” and “PC” the pairing is complete. 4) The Bluetooth® Adapter is transferring date to iOS device when the Green indicator light of the Bluetooth® Adapter flashes every 0.3 seconds. Warning: Do not put the Bluetooth® Adapter on a metal surface or in a metal box or enclosure. This may affect its ability to send data. Always store your On Call Bluetooth Adapter with power off and safely protected. 2. Keep your adapter dry and avoid exposing it to extreme in temperature, keep it away from heat and direct sunlight. Storage at high temperatures (above 45°C / 113°F) can degrade performance and reduce battery life. Storage at low temperatures (down to –10°C / 14°F) will shorten battery life and may affect operation. 3. Do not expose your On Call® Bluetooth® Adapter to water or other liquids. 4. Never operate this device in an area where there is a risk of explosion. Using electrical equipment in the presence of flammable anesthetics or oxygen may cause an explosion. 5. Do not take the adapter apart. Taking the adapter apart will void the warranty. Note: Follow proper precautions and all local regulations when disposing of the Adapter and used batteries. Maintenance Your On Call® Bluetooth® Adapter does not require special maintenance or cleaning. A cloth dampened with water and a mild detergent solution can be used to wipe the outside the adapter. Take care to avoid getting liquids, dirt, blood or control solution into the adapter. On Call® Bluetooth® Adapter is a precision electronic instrument. Please handle it with care.
