About The 5802: The ADEMCO 5802 is a pendant-style Emergency wireless transmitter that may be worn around the neck or carried in a pocket or purse. Pressing the button on the transmitter (for at least one second) will send an alarm signal to the control receiver. The 5802 is intended for use only with wireless alarm systems that support 5800 series devices. The control receiver’s response to the 5802 signal can be set for either 24-hour audible alarm or 24hour silent alarm by appropriate programming of the control receiver. The 5802 is powered by a non-replaceable Lithium battery designed to provide long life. The entire 5802 should be replaced When a low battery condition is indicated by the control unit. Programming The Serial Number: The 5802 has a unique identification code (serial number) permanently assigned during manufacture. The control system is required to “learn” the transmitter’s serial number during installation of the system. Note: During the “learning” procedure, two transmissions must be sent (by pressing the button). Allow at least 8-seconds between transmissions. All 5802 transmitters shall be programmed as “BR” type units (i.e., unsupervised “Button RF”). See the control unit’s Installation Instructions for further details regarding possible zone responses and programming.
