Door Window Sensor The DW3-101 is a Contact Sensor intended for doors, windows, and numerous other objects that open and close. Each Door Sensor has two pieces - the contact sensor (large piece) and the magnet (small piece). The sensor sends a signal to the control panel when the magnet is moved away from or near the contact sensor. The sensor will also send a signal when the contact sensor cover is tampered. Adding Sensor to the Panel To add a Door Window sensor to the panel, set your panel to sensor learning mode, tamper the sensor by removing the sensor cover and replacing it then exit program mode. Installation To Install an DW3-101 on a door, place the magnet on the top corner of the door, opposite the hinge on the flattest surface. Place the contact sensor no more than 3 inches to the side or above the magnet on the molding. Press firmly and hold it in place for 30 seconds. If you have crown molding or another decorative molding, it might be better to reverse the setup (contact sensor on door, magnet on molding).Be sure to align the two half circles on the contact sensor and magnet when you install them. To Install an DW3-101 on a window, place the magnet in the middle of the window frame on the right or left side. Place the contact sensor on the window molding. Be sure to align the two half circles on the contact sensor and magnet when you install them. Press firmly and hold it in place for 30 seconds. Reverse the contact sensor and magnet if necessary. Testing To test an DW3-101 sensor, go to test mode on your panel and ensure the panel volume is loud enough to hear. Next, move the magnet piece away from the contact sensor (large piece). Listen for the appropriate verification sounds (see panel instructions for more details). When you are finished, Exit test mode. Battery Installation/Replacement To install or replace batteries in the DW3-101, open the contact sensor (large piece) by finding the small side with three vertical lines. Insert your fingernail or a flat head screwdriver into the hole and pull the cover toward you. The Sensor requires two CR2032 batteries. Insert the batteries with the “+” facing toward you. Replace the cover starting with the small side without three vertical lines. You should hear a click when the cover is properly replaced.
