10/5/12 10:25 AMRF Exposure - iPhone 5Page 1 of 2http://www.apple.com/legal/rfexposure/iphone5,1/en/iPhone has been tested and meets applicable limits for Radio Frequency (RF) exposure.Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) refers to the rate at which the body absorbs RF energy. SAR limits are 1.6 Watts per kilogram (over avolume containing a mass of 1 gram of tissue) in countries that follow the United States FCC limit and 2.0 W/kg (averaged over 10grams of tissue) in countries that follow the Council of the European Union limit. During testing, iPhone radios are set to their highesttransmission levels and placed in positions that simulate use against the head, with no separation, and near the body, with 10mmseparation.To reduce exposure to RF energy, use a hands-free option, such as the built-in speakerphone, the supplied headphones or othersimilar accessories. Carry iPhone at least 10mm away from your body to ensure exposure levels remain at or below the as-testedlevels. Cases with metal parts may change the RF performance of the device, including its compliance with RF exposure guidelines, in amanner that has not been tested or certified.Although this device has been tested to determine SAR in each band of operation, not all bands are available in all areas. Bands aredependent on your service provider’s wireless and roaming networks.Band TransmitFrequencyFCC 1g SARLimit (W/kg)Body HeadGSM 850UMTS V 850CDMA 800 (BC 0)LTE Band 5824–849 1.6 1.04 0.972GSM 1900UMTS II 1900CDMA 1900 (BC 1)LTE Band 21850–1910 1.6 1.18 1.18BC10 817-823 1.6 0.876 0.925LTE Band 13 777-787 1.6 0.645 0.616LTE Band 17 704-716 1.6 0.547 LTE Band 3 1710-1785 1.6 1.12LTE Band 4 1710-1755 1.6 1.18 1.25LTE Band 25 1850-1915 1.6 1.18 UMTS 2100 1920-1980 1.6 0.9072.4 GHz Wi-Fi 2400–2483.5 1.6 0.198 0.5725150-52505250-53501.61.60.130.1140.5940.575133
