Installing Your Wireless Temperature Sensor
Your sensor can either be mounted on a wall or just sit on a horizontal surface.
QUICK START GUIDE
Wall Mount Your Wireless Temperature Sensor
Warning: When mounting near a window, drilling too close to the glass
could break the glass and possibly cause it to shatter and cause injury.
The window extends deeper into the frame than can be seen; therefore,
ensure your screw is beyond the glass before drilling. Thoroughly clean
and dry the surface.
1. You can mount the sensor securely using the screws
in the hardware kit. Using the holes on the drilling
template found later in this guide, mark the position
of the holes to be drilled. For drywall or other
1.6 mm (1/16 inch)
composite surfaces use a 7/32” drill bit. Drill a hole
maximum
for each of the mounting screws and insert a plastic
wall anchor into each hole. For other solid surfaces, use a 1/16” drill bit.
Drill a pilot hole for each of the mounting screws.
2. Ensure that fresh batteries have been installed.
3. Mount the sensor onto the screws and slide up to lock into place.

INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on your purchase of the ONELINK Wireless
Temperature Sensor. This device senses temperature
changes ranging between 14˚F to 112˚F (-10˚C to 44˚C).
This Quick Start Guide describes how to set up and
troubleshoot your Temperature Sensor.
For a full system set-up manual, please visit our website:
www.onelinkhome.com
Attaching the Temperature Probe
The probe, which attaches to the Temperature Sensor, is immersible and
designed to monitor the temperature of air or water. A pool, aquarium,
deep freezer, or baseboard radiator are just a few suggested places to
monitor ambient air or water temperature.
1. Insert the plug into the bottom of the sensor.
CONTROLLING YOUR SENSOR
Using your computer and the Wireless Gateway, you locally manage your
home environment with the ONELINK Wireless System. When configured, the
system can notify you of any new events
by sending an e-mail when your Temperature Sensor detects an event (a
temperature change) that moves beyond the user specified limits.
2. Place the Temperature Probe in the location
you wish to monitor.
Wall Mount Drilling Template
Mounting tools: Screwdriver, electric drill or awl. On hard surfaces, it is
recommended that you pre-drill 1/2-inch deep pilot holes with a drill bit
slightly smaller than the bracket mounting screws before securing the bracket
to the surface. When mounting a sensor on soft surfaces like sheetrock, use
an awl to punch holes in the material slightly smaller than the plastic anchors
included in the hardware mounting kit.
The illustration is drawn to a one-to-one scale, which means that
it provides the exact dimensions required to mount the unit.
How It Works
The Sensor monitors ambient temperature and if the temperature moves
beyond your set temperature range, it sends an event to your Wireless
System Gateway. When the External Temperature Probe is connected to
the Temperature Sensor, the internal sensor element is disabled.
INSTALLATION OVERVIEW

Mounting Kit
Installing your sensor is a simple process.
1. Locate the antenna and screw it into the top-left corner of the sensor until
it is secure. Sharp objects should be stored out of reach of children to
prevent injury.

2. Insert batteries. On the top of the sensor, slide open the door and insert
two AAA alkaline batteries. The inside of the sensor indicates the polarity
(+ and -) of the batteries. Close the door after inserting batteries.
The sensor does not support rechargeable NiCad or NiMH batteries.
3. Mount the sensor.

Installation Hints
Please consider the following points when mounting the sensor:
• The ONELINK Temperature Sensor is constructed for indoor use.
• Typically, the sensor’s range is 65-200 feet from the Gateway, depending
on the number of obstacles. These can include metal framing, thick walls,
and other wireless devices. It is recommended that different positions be
tried for optimal results.
Frequency range: 915 MHz
Typical open air range (line of sight): 200 ft (60 m)
Typical indoor range: 65 feet (20 m)
Sensor size: 1.613” x .615” x 3.441”
Operational temperature:
14˚ to 112˚ F with all components operating
within manufacturer thermal limits
Battery Regulations:
TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem
LED does not light up
Solution
• Ensure the batteries are properly inserted with the correct polarity.
• Ensure you are using fully charged AAA batteries.
Problem
Wireless System Gateway does not recognize the sensor during setup
Solution
• Ensure sensor is powered. Position the sensor in closer proximity to
your Wireless System Gateway and try again. Ensure there are no other
wireless devices interfering with the sensor. The sensor transmits on the
915 MHz frequency.
Problem
Events are not triggered
Solution
• Is the sensor registered with your Wireless Gateway?
• Ensure that you have the proper settings configured for the sensor
Problem
Sensor continually sends an event
Solution
• Ensure that you have the proper settings configured for the sensor.
For example, you have armed the sensor.
• The sensor can be configured so that it can send an event when the
contacts are closed or when they are opened.
•
Always use the exact batteries specified by this User’s Manual.
DO NOT use rechargeable batteries. For products requiring multiple
batteries, replace all batteries of a set at the same time. Do Not Mix
Old and New Batteries. Clean the battery contacts and also those of
the device prior to battery installation. Install batteries correctly with
regard to polarity (+ and -).
•
Keep battery out of reach of children. In the event a battery is
swallowed, immediately contact your poison control center, your
physician, or the National Battery Ingestion hotline at 202-625-3333
as serious injury may occur. Please dispose of or recycle used
batteries properly, following any local regulations. Consult your
local waste management authority or recycling organization to
find an electronics recycling facility in your area. DO NOT DISPOSE
OF BATTERIES IN FIRE. BATTERIES MAY EXPLODE OR LEAK.
