Remove all cushioning materialsurrounding the product and carefully lift theproduct from the package.Retain the package and all packing materialfor possible use in reshipment or storage.Visually inspect the product and applicableaccessories for any physical damage such asscratches, loose or broken parts, or any othersign of damage that may have occurredduring shipment.NOTE: If damage is found, request an inspectionby the carrier’s agent within 48 hours of deliveryand file a claim with the carrier. A claim forequipment damage in transit is the soleresponsibility of the purchaser.

82 foot dialTransmitterMoving the two foot dialsIndex on XMTRStep 3: Secure the index to the transmitterwith the two (2) supplied Phillips screwsplaced in the stand offs.Step 4: Mount the gasket to the meter.Step 4: Remove and discard old gasket.Step 3: Use a screwdriver to remove anddiscard the two (2) index mounting screws.Install ORION® Transmitter and SensusIndex on MeterUse care when handling the ORIONtransmitter to insure the drive pawl is notsubjected to any physical abuse. Abuse maycause this spindle to become bent,misaligned or otherwise inoperative.When attaching a meter index to an ORIONtransmitter, make sure it mounts securely. Thetwo drive gears must mate without causingany binding or potential for disengagement.Step 1: Place the two (2) supplied stand offsin the transmitter.Stand OffsStep 2: Place the index on the front of theORION transmitter.Line up two front gears. 9Program the ORION TransmitterBadger Meter uses the Badger®-Radix®system to display and process screens.Please reference the document “Instructionsfor Installing ORION Gas Meters Using theRadix Programming Tool”.The meter is now installed. On the Badger-Radix you’ll see the next meter number andthe process starts again.Step 5: Care must be taken when placing atransmitter/index unit on the meter.Before placing the transmitter/index on thegas meter put four (4) supplied plugs into therear of the transmitter.Step 7: There is some adjustment in theposition of the index plate. Make sure theindex is positioned so the shaft turns freelyabout ½ turn.Step 6: When mounting an ORION®transmitter to a gas meter, make sure the gasmeter drive gear engages the transmitter drivepawl. These two drive pawls must matewithout causing any binding or potential fordisengagement.Drive GearDrive PawlStep 8: There are three (3) different lengthsof mounting screws in the transmitter kit.Install the shortest screw in the top left (#1)of the ORION transmitter.Install the second longest screw in the topright (#2).Install the two (2) longest screws in thebottom (#3 and #4). 3 41 2
10Installation of ORION for SENSUS® MODELR-175/200/250/275 (11 Tooth) with dial orodometer index is now complete.Step 3: For security purposes, insert the two(2) supplied red tamper plugs over the screwsand push them in.Step 2: Install the cover with the two (2)supplied screws.Complete the InstallationStep 1: Place the ORION® cover over theoutside of the index and transmitter.
