aids or pacemakers can be
impaired. Keep at least
20cm/9 inches between
the device and the pacemaker. Wear the device on
the ear further away from a
heart pacemaker during a
call. For more information
consult your doctor.
Caution! Young children
may choke on small parts.
The device must therefore
be stored out of the reach
of small children.
Do not throw the device into an open fire.
The device may only be
opened by authorised
service partners. Any
changes to this device are
strictly prohibited and will
invalidate the operating
licence.
Important:
Dispose of unusable devices and their accessories according to the legal
regulations.
The phone may cause interference in the vicinity of
TV sets, radios and PCs.
Use only original accessories. This will avoid potential damage to health or
property and ensure compliance with all relevant
regulations.
Improper use will invalidate the
guarantee!
Permanent hearing loss may occur if
you use ear- or headphones at high
volume.You can adapt over time to a
higher volume, which may sound normal but can be damaging to your hearing. Set your volume to a safe level. If
you experience ringing in your ears,
reduce the volume or discontinue use
of your system.
In some countries there may be restrictions to the use of Bluetooth® devices. Please make enquiries at the
authorities responsible.

Compatibility
The Headset Bluetooth® (referred to
hereafter as "headset") is suitable for
telephoning with mobile phones with
the Bluetooth Profile (Headset Profile or
Handsfree Profile).
Bluetooth®
technology
The Bluetooth® word mark and logos
are owned by the Bluetooth SIG, Inc.
and any use of such marks by
BenQ Corp. is under license. Other
trademarks and trade names are
those of their respective owners.
The headset and the mobile phone
communicate by means of Bluetooth®,
a short-range radio link.
To enable this communication, the
headset and mobile phone must be
paired with each other. For more information please read "Establishing the
first connection with the mobile phone
(pairing)", page 6.
Please also read the notes on
Bluetooth® links in your mobile phone
user guide as the controls and display messages differ between
phones.

Getting started
Adjusting the headset
Wearing the headset
correctly
You can reverse the ear hook so
that you can wear the headset
on the left or right ear.
Wear the headset as shown in
the diagram. The microphoneopening must always point towards your mouth.
1. Pull the ear hook backwards
out of its holder.
Bend the ear hook carefully to
adjust it to your ear.
2. Turn the ear hook and carefully insert it on the other side:
Ensure that part of the projecting end of the rubber earpiece
sticks into your ear canal.

Inserting the battery
To operate the headset you need
to use the AAA battery supplied
with it. The battery is not yet
inserted.
To do this, open the battery
compartment and insert the
battery the correct way round.
Corresponding markings can
be found in the battery
compartment.

Establishing the first
connection with the mobile
phone (pairing)
The headset must be switched
off.
Switching the headset on
and off
• Switch on:
a Press for about
2 seconds. The LED
lights for 1 second
continuously. A low
and a high tone can
be heard.
If no connectable mobile phone can be
found, please repeat
the pairing. If no mobile phone is connected with the headset,
it switches off automatically after 1 hour.
• Switch off:
a Press for about
3 seconds. The LED
lights continuously
for 1 second and then
goes out. A high and a
low tone can be
heard.
1. Press the a button for
at least 5 seconds. The LED
lights continuously, and two
high tones can be heard. Your
mobile phone can now "look
for" the headset.
2. Activate the search mode of
your mobile phone. Please
read the notes on this in the
user guide of your mobile
phone.
3. If your mobile phone finds
your headset, this is shown on
the mobile phone display
beneath the device name
HHB-100.
If your mobile phone does not find the
headset within 3 minutes, activate the
search mode again (repeat step 1).
4. If requested, enter the code
(PIN) of the headset on the
mobile phone:
0000
The headset is now registered to
your mobile phone.

Troubleshooting
You can regulate the volume of
the headset via the mobile
phone.
Headset does not work
• When the battery is empty, the headset gives a warning tone and a flashing signal, see page 7:
¢ Insert new battery.
a Press 2 x briefly: Hold
call. Press again
2 x briefly: Continue
call.
a Press and hold: End
call.
a Press and hold: End
Second call
the current call.
a Press briefly: Hold the
current call and accept the waiting call.

Bluetooth® connection problems
• The Bluetooth Profile of your mobile
phone and your headset are not compatible, see page 3.
• No mobile phone is connected, see
page 6.
• You can recognise the threat of a call
being cut off by the poor audioquality.
¢ Reduce the distance between
headset and mobile phone.
• If the mobile phone is not connected
to the network, you will hear a
recurring beep tone in the headset.
If the Bluetooth® connection to the
mobile phone is interrupted for
several seconds during a call, you
can only continue the call with the
mobile phone.
