Medical Alert and Activity Monitoring
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TM
ActivePERS is a battery powered, water resistant, medical alert
transmitter designed for use with a smartphone and compatible
TM
apps (requires Bluetooth 4.0). ActivePERS is supplied with a
magnetic clasp lanyard and is designed to be worn around the neck.
TM
ActivePERS is sealed to ensure water-resistance.
TM
IMPORTANT: ActivePERS will arrive in a low-power mode and will
TM
not function until activated and registered through an ActivePERS
compatible app (see “Quick Start” below).
TM
IMPORTANT: The ActivePERS battery is not replaceable. The
pendant should be discarded at the end of its battery life or be sent to
BioSensics for refurbishment.

QUICK START
TM
ActivePERS will arrive in a mode designed to save power during
TM
shipping. In this mode, ActivePERS will not detect falls or send
messages of any kind.

To register ActivePERS :
TM
1. Install and run an ActivePERS compatible app on your smartphone.
For a list of compatible apps and devices see www.activepers.com.
TM
2. Go to ActivePERS
> My ActivePERS and click Register ActivePERS™
3. Remove Pendant from Packaging
4. Press and hold the button until the light turns green, then release
the button

5. Follow the on-screen prompts to register your ActivePERS
pendant.
BioSensics strongly recommends that the user test the pendant by pressing
the button. The recommended frequency of testing is once a week. When the
battery power is low, the pendant needs to be replaced immediately.
USING ActivePERSTM
The following instructions apply only to devices that have been
activated and registered.

Wearing ActivePERS :

• ActivePERS should be worn around the neck like a necklace.
TM
The fall detection feature of ActivePERS will not work properly if
TM
ActivePERS is not worn around the neck.
WARNING: ActivePERS LANYARD CLASP CONTAINS A RARE EARTH
(NDFEB) MAGNET. NDFEB MAY INTERFERE WITH THE FUNCTION
OF CARDIAC PACEMAKERS AND IMPLANTABLE CARDIOVERTERDEFIBRILLATOR (ICDS). INDIVIDUALS WITH SUCH DEVICES SHOULD
EXERCISE CAUTION WHEN WEARING ACTIVEPERS AND KEEP THE
LANYARD CLASP BEHIND THE NECK AREA AT ALL TIMES.
Sending an alert signal:

• To send an alert signal press and release the ActivePERS button.
TM
The light on the front of the ActivePERS sensor will turn green
when a message is successfully sent.
Fall Detection:
TM
• When a fall is detected, the red light on the front of the ActivePERS
sensor will start blinking (it may take up to 6 seconds for the light to
start blinking after a fall).
• The light will blink for about 15 seconds before sending an alert
signal to the smartphone. The light will turn solid red to indicate
when the alert message has been sent.

or precision. If the user needs help, the user must always push the
pendant button if he/she is able to. If user needs help, the user must
briefly press the button. The signal range of the pendant button may
vary due to changing environmental factors.
