Brookstone® warrants this product against defects in materials and/or workmanship
under normal use for a period of ONE (1) YEAR from the date of purchase by the
original purchaser (“Warranty Period”). If a defect arises and a valid claim is received
within the Warranty Period, at its option, Brookstone will either 1) repair the defect
at no charge, using new or refurbished replacement parts, or 2) replace the product
with a new product that is at least functionally equivalent to the original product, or
3) provide a store credit in the amount of the purchase price of the original product.
A replacement product or part, including a user-installable part installed in accordance
with instructions provided by Brookstone, assumes the remaining warranty of the
original product. When a product or part is exchanged, any replacement item becomes
your property and the replaced item becomes Brookstone’s property. When a store
credit is given, the original product must be returned to Brookstone and becomes
Brookstone’s property.
Obtaining Service: To obtain warranty service, call Brookstone Limited Warranty Service
at 1-800-292-9819. Please be prepared to describe the product that needs service
and the nature of the problem. A purchase receipt is required. All repairs and
replacements must be authorized in advance. Service options, parts availability and
response times will vary. You are responsible for delivery and the cost of delivery of
the product or any parts to the authorized service center for replacement, per our
instructions.

8. Never block the air openings of the unit with materials such as clothing,
plastic bags or papers, or place it on a soft surface such as a bed or couch,
where the air openings may be blocked.

signal from the transmitter.

11. Never operate this unit if the adapter has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not
working properly, or if it has been dropped or damaged, or dropped into water.
Do not attempt to fix it yourself.
12. To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble or attempt to repair the
unit. Incorrect repair can cause risk of electric shock or injury to persons when
unit is used.
13. Do not operate in the presence of explosive and/or flammable fumes.
14. Never remove the Adapter plug from the socket by pulling the power cord.
baTTery PrecauTIons
• Dispose of the old batteries properly. Do not dispose of the old batteries in a fire.
• Do not leave the batteries where a child or pet could play with or swallow them. If
the batteries are swallowed, contact a physician immediately.
• The batteries may explode if mistreated. Do not attempt to recharge or
disassemble the batteries.
• Use only fresh batteries of the required size and type. Do not mix old and
new batteries, different types of batteries, or rechargeable batteries of
different capacities.

There is no Snow icon when
setting the initial forecast.
Temperature and humidity data
on Transmitter and Base unit
are not the same.

SOlUTION
You will not see the snow icon when setting
the forecast. Snow cannot be selected as
a Forecast when setting the initial forecast.
If it is snowing, rain must be selected. The
unit will be able to determine if it is raining
or snowing due to temperature. When the
unit shows the forecast the Snow icon will
display if Snow is predicted.
Base unit and transmitter need some time to
sync when it they are first set up. Give the
unit a few hours to fully sync.
Base unit could be picking up a transmission
from another unit close by.
Base unit and transmitter may need to be
re-synced (see page 12).
The Weather Forecast does not
change or is not accurate.
The Initial Forecast needs to be set. See
page 11.
The Initial Forecast needs to be calibrated.
See page 13.

Select a location for the Transmitter that is within 100 feet of the Base Unit. For
the best results, the Transmitter should not be placed in direct sunlight, where water
may accumulate, or near other electronic devices.

Select a location for the Base Unit that is within 100 feet of the Transmitter. For
best results, the Base Unit should be placed in an area where it will not be exposed
to extreme temperatures from heaters, air conditioners, etc.
calIBraTINg THe INITIal FOrecaST
adaPTer
After 72 hours, if the unit is not showing an appropriate forecast, the initial forecast
may need to be reset. Make sure to calibrate when weather conditions are well
defined (for example; very clear or currently raining).
1. Remove the REAR COMPARTMENT DOOR.
2. Press and hold the FORECAST button for 3 seconds until the WEATHER
FORECAST ICONS start to flash.
3. Using the + and – buttons, scroll through the WEATHER FORECAST ICONS
and select the one that best represents the current weather.
4. Press the Forecast button to save and set the current Forecast.
5. Replace the rear compartment door.

When the unit shows the forecast, the Snow icon will display if Snow is predicted.

3. Replace the REAR COMPARTMENT DOOR after setting the initial forecast.

4. After initial set up, approximately 48 hours are needed before the weather
forecast is accurate. Once the weather forecast is accurate, the unit will forecast
weather 6-8 hours ahead.
Remove REAR COMPARTMENT DOOR and plug in ADAPTER.
2. Push STAND into STAND SOCKET.
SeTTINg THe INITIal FOrecaST
When the Base Unit is first plugged in, the cloudy WEATHER FORECAST ICON
will flash. The forecast must then be set so the unit can predict the future forecast.
We recommend setting the initial forecast during daylight conditions.
1. Remove the REAR COMPARTMENT DOOR.
2. Using the + or – buttons, scroll through the WEATHER FORECAST ICONS
(shown below) and select the one that best represents the current weather.
Note: as with all weather forecasting, an absolute accurate forecast cannot be
guaranteed due to sudden weather changes.

1. Unscrew and remove the BATTERY DOOR.
2. Insert two AAA batteries (not included) according to the polarity indicators
inside the compartment.
3. Replace BATTERY DOOR and tighten screw to secure.
Note: a low battery icon will appear on the Base Unit display when the
Transmitter batteries are low.

Note: You will not see the snow icon when setting the forecast. Snow cannot be

Once the Base Unit is plugged in, and batteries are placed in the Transmitter,
the Transmitter will automatically send the temperature and humidity to the
Base Unit. The LED on the Transmitter blinks during transmission.
After a few minutes, if the temperature and humidity do not show on the Base Unit
display, press and hold the SYNC button on the Base Unit for 3 seconds to sync the
Base Unit with the Transmitter.
