Cautionary Suggestions • Disconnect all power before installation or service. • Installation and maintenance must be performed by qualified personnel. Fixture Mount DALI Sensor (D2) Installation Instructions • Installations and maintenance must be performed in accordance with state, local, and national electrical codes and requirements. Installation Steps This installation assumes that you have already installed the DALI LED driver. Step Figure 1: Fixture Mount DALI Sensor Shipped Components • DALI Sensor (D2) Tools You May Need Turn off all power to the light fixture by switching off the circuit breaker. The face of the sensor is only 1.08 inches (27mm) in diameter and is designed to mount in a ½ inch trade size (0.875 inch) hole.. (All parts of the sensor are inside the lighting fixture except for a ring and spring.) Determine the location for the sensor in fixture, and either remove an existing ½ inch knockout or cut a hole in the fixture. Orient the sensor and measure the length between it and the LED driver “DALI connections”, and cut two lengths of 18 AWG wire that are at least this length plus 1 inch. Strip each end of the 2 wires leaving 3/8 inch of exposed wire. Insert one end of the wires in the sensor’s wire holes and the other in the DALI LED driver “DALI connections” wire holes Remove (by unscrewing) the outer ring from the sensor (saving the ring and pressure spring). On the inside of the fixture, insert the sensor in the hole in the fixture and on the outside of the fixture, replace the spring and screw back on the outer ring. Tighten firmly, but do no over tighten. • Wire cutter and stripper Figure 2: Mechanical dimensions of the DALI Sensor Description Figure 3: Wiring Diagram Ready the fixture for use, and when done, restore power to the fixture.
