SITGKERS
OPERATION
The WK-700 is designed to allow remote arm and disarm capabili-
ties within a home or small business. The keypad's operation
matches the setup tor the system‘s master hardwire keypad. Dis-
arm codes, single digit arming. etc., are identical to the master
keypad.
Each time a key is pressed, the unit will Deep and the transmit LED
will light. Four digit User Codes and other key press sequences
may be entered Without waiting between presses. The system's
armed status will sound over the inside speakers whenever the
STATUS key is pressed,
To activate an emergency alarm, simultaneously press and
hold for 1 second the keys on each side at the label. For ex-
ample, a tire alarm is activated by presslng both the STATUS
and 1 keys.
Hourly supervision signals are sent to the control panel along with
the battery condition.
BATTERIES
The WK7700 is powered by a single battery pack which contains
two, CR2450 lithium batteries. Typical shelf life is greater than 10
years. Actual battery Iils will depend on the number of operations
and whether coded or single digit arming is used. Average battery
life should be about 5 years. Prolonged exposure to temperatures
outside of 5°C - 50°C will decrease battery Iile.
CONSUMER TESTING THE WK-700
No electronic product can perform better than the
a care and maintenance It recelves. Capricorn recomv
mends that each installing company otter a periodlc
service and maintenance agreement to the end user.
Teach your customers how to test each WK—700 installed in their
home. The test method depends on the type of installation and how
the WK—700 is configured in the system. Customers should be told
what action to take it any part of their system fails during normal
operation or during regular testing.
Complete testing of all pans of the system should be performed no
less than once per month. In some cases, more Irequent tests may
be appropriate tor the customer. Only the on-site installing person-
nel can make this determination.
For installation testing, reler to the system‘s Installation Manual and
User Instructions for more information. These manuals also contain
detailed inlormation on operating and installing RF devices.
UNDERSTANDING RADIO FREQUENCY DEVICES
Although radio transmission links have proven themselves by pro-
viding dependable commu tion, both customer and installer
need to understand their Ilm tions and restrictions before using
the system. Additional RF information is supplied with each sys~
tam's Installation Manual.
Radio reception characteristics of the system may be changed
when electronic devices, home computers, large appliances,
mirrors, toll wallpaper, etc., are added or moved within the
home. Have your customer consult with you If they have any
concerns when making changes at this nature.
Some of the areas you should be aware of are:
1. Transmitters have limited power and therefore limited range
because they must comply with FCC Rules and Regulations
as Part 15 devtces.
(cont‘d on next page)
2. The WK-700‘s batteries must be replaced when indicated by
low battery transmissions.
3. Because conditions in the customer home may change,
ponable transmitters should be tested from all anticipated
operating locations during both the installation tests and dur-
ing routine testing.
4. Periodic testing will reveal any new source of interference or
a failure of the system.
5. Receivers may be blocked by other signals occurring near
their operating frequency,
6. The receiver can only respond to one transmitter signal at a
time,
