SUB-ZERO / WOLF Smart Appliance Module™ For Home Automation™ • Go to http://www.cardaccess-inc.com/automation/support/index. php?a=drivers and download the SUB-ZERO or WOLF driver. • Add the driver to the Documents/Control4/Drivers folder. • Start Composer Pro, go to the Search Tab and select “Others” as the device type and “SUB-ZERO as the manufacturer. There are four (4) drivers to choose from. Select the model that matches your refrigerator or oven. • Add the driver to the room where the refrigerator or oven is located and then go to the conncections tab and click network. • Identify the Smart Appliance Module by pressing the identiication button on the front cover four (4) times. Supported Models and Requirements The Card Access Smart Appliance Module™ is designed for installation into speciic SUB-ZERO / Wolf appliances. Installation should be completed by an authorized Control4® Dealer. The module requires a Control4 Home Controller running Composer 2.1.0 or higher. Important Safety Instructions WARNING! You should install this device in accordance with all national and local electrical codes. IMPORTANT! Improper use or installation of this device can result in LOSS OF/DAMAGE TO PROPERTY. IMPORTANT! Using this product in any manner other than outlined in this document voids your warranty. Also, Card Access is NOT responsible or otherwise liable in any way for any damage resulting from the misuse of this product. See the section of this document entitled WARRANTY for details. What Is Included. Prior to installing the Smart Appliance Module, the Control4 Controller being used in the project will need to be assigned a Control4, 4Store account. To create a 4Store account follow the directions below: • Go to http://www.4store.com and create an account for the Home Controller in the project. • Download the SUB-ZERO or WOLF app: SUB-ZERO for the refrigerator, and WOLF for the oven. • After loading Composer, go to the Agents Tab and add the 4Store Agent. Enter the account information for the 4Store account you have just created. Save the information and click the update button. This will load the SUB-ZERO app and make it appear on the Navigator. • The Home Controller must be running version 2.1 or higher for correct operation. If the Home Controller is running an earlier version and needs to be General Instruction Notes NOTE: To ensure good ZigBee wireless reception, please consider the following: (1) ensure the device is within 150 feet of another ZigBee device and (2) avoid installing the module near other electrical equipment that may cause interference with the ZigBee signal (such as cordless telephones that operate on the 2.4 GHz frequency). NOTE: To mount the Wireless Smart Appliance Module, use the included two-sided Velcro tape to mount the Tray Assembly to the outward facing lat surface located under the top vent cover of the reigerator. For oven installation, contact your SUB-ZERO Service Technician for assistance. • Model Number (SUB10A-ZP) This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. • Date of Purchase This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: • Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. • Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. Troubleshooting If the Smart Appliance Module is not working: • Reboot the Smart Appliance Module by removing power from it and then re-connecting power. NOTE: Power must be removed from the product for 10 seconds to ensure a reboot. • To remove the Smart Appliance Module from the ZigBee PAN, remove power by removing the RJ12 connector from the module. Press and hold the ID button while simoutaneously restoring power to the module. Once the LED turns amber, release the ID button. The LED will change to red. The module is now ready to be reidentiied into the project. Please visit www.cardaccess-inc.com/automation/registration to register your new product. The product must NOT be immersed. The Smart Appliance Module Assembly plastics are paintable with any water-based residential paints. DO NOT CLOG THE COVER ASSEMBLY VENT HOLES WITH PAINT. All parts in the Card Access Smart Appliance Module meet the material restrictions of RoHS, as proposed by the RoHS Technical Adaptation Committee. Card Access is not responsible for removal or reinstallation costs.
