Carematix #### Adapter Connecting to a Device 1. Please ensure that the batteries are installed in the adapter. See below for instructions on how to install batteries. 2. Connect the device to the adapter using the adapter’s cable. Make sure that the connection is secure. Transmitting a Measurement 1. Take a measurement as you normally do using the device. 2. If your adapter does not have a Send button, then the measurement will be automatically transmitted from the device to the adapter. 3. If your adapter does have a Send button, please press it once after the device has taken the measurement. Your measurement will now be send to the adapter and then on to the receiver hub. Helpful Hints 1. Please insure that the device and the adapter fit together securely. 2. The connector will fit properly only one way. If resistance is encountered while connecting, please check and reorient connector if necessary. 3. Please check batteries after approximately 6 months of regular use and replace if necessary. Power Supply Battery Installation Warranty 1. This equipment is guaranteed for the period of 1 year after the date of purchase against manufacturing defects when returned along with the proof of date of purchase. During this period, the unit will be repaired or replaced free of charge if the failure is attributable to faulty design or manufacture. This warranty does not cover damage or malfunctions caused by improper handling or use contrary to the instructions in this manual. Opening or taking apart the unit or its components will void the warranty. Should your unit require service, please e-mail to us at service@carematix.com 2. 3. Open the battery compartment cover on the underside of the adapter. When the compartment is opened, insert 2 AA batteries, making sure they are oriented correctly. Replace the battery compartment cover. Notes: 1. Since the batteries installed from the factory at the time of shipment are monitor batteries, their life may be shorter than regular, new batteries. Care and Maintenance 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Because this unit uses precision parts, care should be taken to avoid extremes in temperature variations, humidity, shock, dust and direct sunlight. Do not open or take apart the adapter or its components. There are no user serviceable parts. Do not drop or strike this unit. Do not yank at the cable as its connection to the peak flow meter may become unsecured. If the unit is to be stored for a long period, please disconnect it from the peak flow meter and be sure to remove batteries before storage. Changes in treatment or therapy should not be based on information provided by the Adapter. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS Batteries should not be left in the Carematix 7100 Adapter for an extended period of time that the Adapter is not is use. Batteries should be disposed of properly according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. If the monitor is accompanied by a base station (hub) requiring plugging into a phone line, the line should NEVER be plugged in during a thunderstorm. CAUTION Changes or modifications to this equipment not expressly approved by Carematix, Inc. could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.
