DR While charging, both S805 indicators turn on and remain on until charging completes. The S805 cannot be used while charging. Your S805 fully charges in about 2 hours. 4 When charging completes (indicators off), unplug the charger from the electrical outlet, and your S805. Note: You can also use a Motorola Original™ Vehicle Power Adapter to charge your S805 while in your vehicle. AF A fully charged S805 battery provides approximately: • [12?] hours of stereo music listening time • [15?] hours of phone call talk time • [400?] hours of standby time Pairing Your S805 and Bluetooth Phone You must pair (link) your S805 and your Bluetooth-enabled phone before you can make/receive calls or listen to music (originating from your phone). Note: To listen to music originating from your Bluetooth-enabled phone, stereo audio streaming (A2DP Profile) must be supported by the phone. Using the S805 11 “Pairing” links two Bluetooth equipped devices, and allows your phone to remember your S805’s unique ID. After your S805 and phone are paired, your S805 automatically connects to your phone when you turn it on. Step DR Perform these steps to pair (link) your phone and S805: 1 Turn on the Bluetooth power on your phone. Bluetooth power option may be OFF by default. Bluetooth power must be ON to search for devices. For most Motorola phones: AF a M(Menu) > Settings > Connection > Bluetooth Link > Setup > b Scroll to Power. c Select Change. d Scroll to On. e Press Select to turn on the Bluetooth feature. Bluetooth feature remains on until you turn it off. Note: For other phones, refer to your phone’s user’s guide. 2 Put your S805 into pairing mode. Note: For more information on pairing with your Bluetooth phone, see the direct.motorola.com/hellomoto/Motos upport/source/BluetoothSelect.asp web site. Using the S805 13 Pairing Your S805 and Bluetooth Audio Device DR You must pair (link) your S805 and your Bluetooth-enabled audio device before you can play music. Note: For the S805 to listen to music originating from your Bluetooth-enabled audio device, stereo audio streaming (A2DP Profile) must be supported by the audio device. “Pairing” links two Bluetooth equipped devices, and allows your phone to remember your S805’s unique ID. After your S805 and audio device are paired, your S805 automatically connects to your audio device when you turn it on. Perform these steps to pair (link) your S805 and audio device: AF Step 1 Holding the S805 close to the audio device, put your S805 into pairing mode: With your S805 off, press and hold L until the indicator light turns on and remains on (about 6 seconds). 2 Place your Bluetooth-enabled audio device into pairing mode. Note: For details on placing your Bluetooth-enabled audio device in pairing mode, see the device’s user documentation. 3 When the S805 pairs successfully with the audio device, you will see a series of 10 rapid flashes from the L button indicator light. 14 Using the S805 Pairing to Additional Devices DR Your S805 can store pairing information for up to eight different Bluetooth devices. These devices are stored in chronological order in the “Paired Device List” in your S805’s memory. When you try to pair to more than eight devices, the oldest paired device is removed from the list. Any of the eight paired devices can start a paired connection to your S805. AF When you turn on your S805 it automatically connects only to the last handsfree device (such as a mobile phone) and the last music source it was connected to. If you want to connect your S805 to another device in the paired device list, you must start the connection from that device. When any one of the eight devices starts a connection to your S805 afterwards, that device then becomes the “last connected” device. Connecting Your S805 to a Wired Audio Device To listen to music from a non-Bluetooth audio device, connect your audio device to the headset jack using the 2.5mm-to-3.5mm stereo audio cable included with your S805. Using the S805 47 Wireless Phone Safety Tips Drive Safe, Call Smart SM Check the laws and regulations on the use of wireless phones and their accessories in the areas where you drive. Always obey them. The use of these devices may be prohibited or restricted in certain areas. Contact www.motorola.com/callsmart for more information. Your wireless phone lets you communicate by voice and data—almost anywhere, anytime, wherever wireless service is available and safe conditions allow. When driving a car, driving is your first responsibility. If you choose to use your wireless phone while driving, remember the following tips: Get to know your Motorola wireless phone and its features such as speed dial and redial. If available, these features help you to place your call without taking your attention off the road. When available, use a handsfree device. If possible, add an additional layer of convenience to your wireless phone with one of the many Motorola Original™ handsfree accessories available today. Position your wireless phone within easy reach. Be able to access your wireless phone without removing your eyes from the road. If you receive an incoming call at an inconvenient time, if possible, let your voice mail answer it for you. Let the person you are speaking with know you are driving; if necessary, suspend the call in heavy traffic or hazardous weather conditions. Rain, sleet, snow, ice, and even heavy traffic can be hazardous. Do not take notes or look up phone numbers while driving. Jotting down a “to do” list or going through your address book takes attention away from your primary responsibility—driving safely. 48 Using the S805 Dial sensibly and assess the traffic; if possible, place calls when your car is not moving or before pulling into traffic. If you must make a call while moving, dial only a few numbers, check the road and your mirrors, then continue. Do not engage in stressful or emotional conversations that may be distracting. Make people you are talking with aware you are driving and suspend conversations that can divert your attention away from the road. Use your wireless phone to call for help. Dial 9-1-1 or other local emergency number in the case of fire, traffic accident, or medical emergencies.1 Use your wireless phone to help others in emergencies. If you see an auto accident, crime in progress, or other serious emergency where lives are in danger, call 9-1-1 or other local emergency number, as you would want others to do for you.1 Call roadside assistance or a special non-emergency wireless assistance number when necessary. If you see a broken-down vehicle posing no serious hazard, a broken traffic signal, a minor traffic accident where no one appears injured, or a vehicle you know to be stolen, call roadside assistance or other special non-emergency wireless number.1 1.Wherever wireless phone service is available.
