the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a
residential installation.
This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance
with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that
interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or

IMPORTANT NOTE (CO-LOCATION)
FCC RF Radiation Exposure Statement: This equipment complies with FCC RF radiation exposure limits set forth for
an uncontrolled environment. This device and its antenna must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any
other antenna or transmitter.
Tests for SAR are conducted using standard operating positions specified by the FCC with the phone transmitting at
its highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands. Although the SAR is determined at the highest certified
power level, the actual SAR level of the phone while operation can be well below the maximum value. This is because
the phone is designed to operate at multiple power levels so as to use only the power required to reach the network. In
general, the closer you are to a wireless base station antenna, the lower the power output.
Before a phone model is available for sale to the public, it must be tested and certified to the FCC that it does not
exceed the limit established by the government-adopted requirement for safe exposure. The tests are performed in
positions and locations (e.g., at the ear and worn on the body) as required by the FCC for each model. (Body-worn
measurements may differ among phone models, depending upon available accessories and FCC requirements).
While there may be differences between the SAR levels of various phones and at various positions, they all meet the
government requirement for safe exposure.
For body worn operation, to maintain compliance with FCC RF exposure guidelines, use only accessories that contain
no metallic components and provide a separation distance of 1.5cm (0.6 inches) to the body. Use of other
accessories may violate FCC RF exposure guidelines and should be avoided.

Health and Safety Information
Exposure to Radio Frequency (RF) Signals
Your wireless phone is a radio transmitter and receiver. It is designed and manufactured not to exceed
the emission limits for exposure to radio frequency (RF) energy set by the Federal Communications
Commission of the U.S. Government. These limits are part of comprehensive guidelines and establish
permitted levels of RF energy for the general population. The guidelines are based on the safety stan-
dards previously set by both U.S. and international standards bodies:
* American National Standards Institute (ANSI) IEEE. C95.1-1992
* National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurement (NCRP). Report 86. 1986
* International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) 1996
* Ministry of Health (Canada), Safety Code 6. The standards include a substantial safety margin
designed to assure the safety of all persons, regardless of age and health.
The exposure standard for wireless mobile phones employs a unit of measurement known as the Spe-
cific Absorption Rate, or SAR. The SAR limit set by the FCC is 1.6W/kg *.
* In the U.S. and Canada, the SAR limit for mobile phones used by the public is 1.6 watts/kg (W/kg) averaged over
one gram of tissue. The standard incorporates a substantial margin of safety to give additional protection for the public
and to account for any variations in.
SAR Information
THIS MODEL DEVICE MEETS THE GOVERNMENT'S REQUIREMENTS FOR
EXPOSURE TO RADIO WAVES.
Your wireless mobile GSM phone is a radio transmitter and receiver. It is designed and manufactured
not to exceed the emission limits for exposure to radio frequency (RF) energy set by the Federal Com-
munications Commission of the U.S. Government. These limits are part of comprehensive guidelines
and establish permitted levels of RF energy for the general population. The guidelines are based on
the safety standards previously set by both U.S. and international standards bodies:

* Ministry of Health (Canada), Safety Code 6. The standards include a substantial safety margin
designed to assure the safety of all persons, regardless of age and health.
The exposure standard for wireless mobile GSM phone employs a unit of measurement known as the
Specific Absorption Rate, or SAR. The SAR limit set by the FCC is 1.6W/kg *.
For body worn operation, this phone has been tested and meets the FCC RF exposure guidelines
when used with an accessory that contains no metal and that position the antenna of the GSM phone
a minimum of 1.5cm from the body. The SAR values of this GSM phone are 0.639mW/g (body) and
0.603mW/g (head). Use of other accessories may not ensure compliance with the FCC RF exposure
guidelines.
The FCC has granted an Equipment Authorization for this model device with all reported SAR levels
evaluated as in compliance with the FCC RF exposure guidelines. SAR information on this model
device is on file with the FCC and can be found under the Display Grant section of http://
www.fcc.gov/oet/fccid after searching on FCC ID QDJ-0307KON01. Additional information on
Specific Absorption Rates (SAR) can be found on the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Asso-
ciation (CTIA) web-site at http://www.devicefacts.net.
* In the U.S. and Canada, the SAR limit for mobile GSM phone used by the public is 1.6 watts/kg
(W/kg) averaged over one gram of tissue. The standard incorporates a substantial margin of safety to
give additional protection for the public and to account for any variations in.

Installing SIM card
The SIM (Subscriber Identification Module) card is a small plastic card with metal contact
on it. You get this card after you subscribe to your operator. Your personal subscriber infor-
mation is stored in the SIM card and you need to use this card in the phone to make/receive
calls and access services provided by your operator.
What is a SIM card?
• Turn the phone face down.
• Open the back cover. • Slide the SIM card into the SIM card socket.
