OVERVIEW OF THIS GUIDE
Overview of this guide
This guide provides instructions on how to connect up your
Sentry-II transceiver, and how to perform basic setup and operating
tasks. It assumes that you have limited knowledge ofIIF
communication and of using an [IF transceiver.
Extensive reference material is provided on the CD at the back of
this guide
NOTE: A range of options and accessories is available for
the Sentry-ll transceivers For more information
contact your Codan representative or refer to the
product catalogue that is applicable to your
transceiver.

The 2320 Handset
The 2320 Handset is (I comm] point for the Sentry-II Transceiver.
The user interface provides 1m icon-based menu sxructurc for easy
semp and operation of the Transceiver.

THE 2320 HANDSET
The 2320 Handset is a hand-held device that has a microphone, a
PTT button, a screen, navigation keys, numeric keys, an internal
GPS receiver with an antenna, and a speaker that can switch
between earpiece and loudspeaker modes. The keypad enables you
to control and configure the transceiver system via the user
interface. The handset connects to the RFU via an integrated
interface cable.
NOTE: The 2320 Ilaudset is used to adjust the volume and
the mute state ofthe 11-250 accessory (handset or
speaker) if available.
The 2320 Handset is shipped from the factory with standard
functious pre-programmed to specific keys. The standard function
is written on the key in GREEN text. New user-defined functions
may be assigned to most of the keys.

the Sentry-H transceiver as well as type/edit text,

All the keys available on the control point‘s keypad can be accessed
from the USB keyboard. The USB keyboard provides more
functions for text editing

Overview of the wizard
The wizard is available ifthe transceiver:
- has not been programmed with a profile
- has a basic profile that has the same selt‘address for each of
the default IIF networks: Selcall (Ind CALM
- has one scan table
The wizard steps you through setting up information in the
transceiver so that it may be operated at a basic level

Starting the wizard
The wizard should start automatically when a new transceiver is
powered up for the first time.

follow the instructions below. If your transceiver has
been profiled using the TPS System Programmer,
the wizard may not be available.
NOTE: For information on specific entries in the wizard,
please see the Reference Manual (Codan part
number15-04188-EN Issue 1).
To use the wizard:
J Press PTT, then press .0 (Menu) to return to the top
level ofthe menu structure.

Highlight the icon for the wizard (i), then press ‘—
(OK).
Ifthe icon is not visible, then the wizard is not available as
the transceiver has been programmed already with a
non-basic profile.
Press ‘— [Yes) to confimi that you want to start the
wizard.
If you want to bypass the wizard, press _, (No).
Selecting a language
NOTE: This step in the wizard is shown ifyou have multiple
languages available.
To select a language:

Press A or v to scroll to the language that you want to use
on the control point, then press OK.
NOTE: The label above the \— key appears in the
selected language.
Press \— (Save) to save the information
Setting the time and date
To set the time and date:

Press 1 or > to select the time zone that you want to use.
Press v to move to the Daylight Saving entry.
Press 1 or > to select the time that you want to use.
Press v to move to the Local Time entry.
Press ) to enter edit mode for the local time.
Press A or v to scroll to the value that you want to set, then
