RC50-C HF EMAIL SOFTWARE FEATURES AT A GLANCE Codan’s RC50-C HF Email software provides fast, efficient, error free email capability over HF radio. Operating in conjunction with Codan’s HF Transceivers and RM50 range of Data Modems, the software operates on a standard Windows™ PC using a single USB port with no specialised PC hardware requirements. When installed, the software runs in the background requiring no user interaction. ADAPTIVE DATA RATES UP TO 19200 BIT/S Adaptive data rates up to 19200 bit/s NATO interoperable When used with a CODAN™ ISB capable Transceiver data rates up to 19200 bit/s are possible. Data rates are fully adaptive to suit the prevailing channel conditions ensuring the fastest possible data rate is used at all times. Inbuilt compression and industry leading data rates minimise station on-air time. Data encryption NATO INTEROPERABLE Compatible with CALM™/ALE Operator control via a standard POP3 email client and the use of STANAG 5066 ensures the system is interoperable with other manufacturer’s systems. Intranet/Internet gateway DATA ENCRYPTION Over the air transmissions can be encrypted using AES-256 bit encryption. Additionally, the RC50-C system has been designed to support customer defined third party email encryption software for full end-to-end email encryption. SIMPLIFIED OPERATION USING CALM™ / ALE The RC50-C HF Email software integrates with Codan’s enhanced CALM™/ALE linking system, simplifying operation and ensuring the best available channel is chosen for each data session. INTRANET / INTERNET GATEWAY RC50-C can be configured as a gateway to connect with a wider Intranet/WAN providing a fully integrated field email service. 12-20271-EN Issue 3 5/2014 www.codanradio.com © Copyright 2014 RC50-C HF EMAIL SOFTWARE SPECIFICATIONS STANAG 5066 V1.2 Annex F.12 Compressed File Transport Protocol (CFTP) SUPPORTED WAVEFORMS Modulation Data Rates MIL-STD-188-110A Coded PSK 75, 150, 300, 600, 1200, 2400 Uncoded PSK 4800 MIL-STD-188-110B (serial tone) Coded PSK/QAM 3200, 4800, 6400, 8000, 9600 MIL-STD-188-110B (Appendix F) * Coded PSK/QAM ISB: 9600, 12800, 16000, 19200 STANAG 4539 Coded PSK/QAM 75, 150, 300, 600, 1200, 2400 3200, 4800, 6400, 8000, 9600 Uncoded PSK/QAM 12800 Coded PSK 75, 150, 300, 600, 1200, 2400 Uncoded PSK 1200, 2400, 3600 STANAG 4415 Coded PSK 75 STANAG 4529 Coded PSK 75, 150, 300, 600, 1200 Uncoded PSK 600, 1200, 1800 STANAG 4285 DATA RATE CONTROL Adaptive, controlled by BER measurements, ISB 75 to 19200 bit/s, SSB 75 to 9600 bit/s DATA INTERFACE USB2.0 or 2 x RS232 Serial MINIMUM PC SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Windows™ XP Professional SP2 or Windows™ 2000 Professional SP4 Compatible with Windows™ 7 Intel Pentium IV 800 MHz or better 6 GB or more of free space for email storage 512 MB or more of RAM CD-ROM drive POP3 / SMTP compliant email client Access to any commercial POP3 / SMTP compliant email server for internet connectivity RECOMMENDED TRANSCEIVERS Envoy™ X2 NGT™ SR, SRx, MR, ASR, AR Manpack 2110, 2110M * Requires an ISB capable Transceiver CODAN™, Envoy™ and NGT™ are trademarks of Codan Consult Codan for configuration options Values noted are typical.
