2.0 - Charging Staon Assembly Instrucons
1. Plug the barrel side of the USB charge cable or power supply (depending on which you ordered) into the charger. (Figure 2)
2. (Oponal) Aach the weighted base. Place the ‘This Side Down’ (Figure 3) side of the weighted base onto the surface, and place the
Charging Staon on top of it. (Figure 1) and secure with the screws provided. (Figure 4)
Figure 2 Figure 3 Figure 4
3. Rubber feet can be placed on the corners of the weighted base (Figure 5) or directly onto the Charging Staon (Figure 6) to
prevent slipping from a surface.
4. (Oponal) Mounng the Charging Staon to a Surface. Place the ‘This Side Down’ (Figure 3) side of the weighted base onto the
surface, and secure with screws. Note: Because surface types dier, screws are not included to mount a Charging Staon to a
surface.
5. Place the Charging Staon on top of the weighted base (Figure 1) and secure the Charging Staon to the base with the screws
provided (Figure 4)
Note: The weighted base has the same pre-drilled mounng holes as the ECS-H and UMC Chargers.

9.0 - Communicaon Mode Switch
Charging Staons with an embedded modem feature a Communicaon Modem Switch. The
Communicaon Mode Switch allows the reader to transmit data through either the modem or wired
connecon.
When the Communicaon Mode Switch is moved to the right, in the direcon of the arrow, the reader will
communicate via the modem. The QuickConnect code located on the front of the Charging Staon must
be scanned to establish a Bluetooth connecon. Scanned data will then be transmied to the host device
wirelessly.
If a wired connecon is needed, move the Communicaon Mode Switch to the le. For USB Downloader
or Keyboard mode, the Batch Mode Enable code must be scanned (refer to Secon 10). To transmit
scanned data while in wired mode, the reader must be placed into the Charging Staon before data can be
transmied to the host device.
10.0 - Communicang in USB Downloader (HID) Mode
CR3600 rmware and conguraon sengs can be managed via USB Downloader (HID) Mode using Code’s CortexTools™.
To communicate in USB Downloader (HID) Mode with a CR3600 and Charging Staon, skip step 1 and proceed to step 2.
For the CR3600 to communicate in wired, USB Downloader (HID) Mode with a Charging Staon with embedded CodeXML®
modem:
1. Move the Communicaon Mode Switch to the le (opposite direcon of the arrow) on the Charging Staon (Figure 18).
2. Open CortexTools™. (Contact appeng@codecorp.com for a CR3600 compable version)
3. Scan the USB Downloader (HID) Mode conguraon barcode.
4. Dock the reader into the Charging Staon.
5. Follow the instrucons detailed in the CortexTools™ User Manual, available from
www.codecorp.com.

Important Note If Using a non-Code Bluetooth Device:
To connect to a Bluetooth device not manufactured by Code, you will need the Bluetooth address (oen referred to as the BD_ADDR)
of that device. The 12-character Bluetooth address can be found on the device near the serial number. Then visit Code’s website at:
hp://www.codecorp.com/bdaddr.php and enter the 12-character address to create the QuickConnect Code.
You will need to locate the Communicaons (COM) Port assigned to the Bluetooth serial port protocol before installing the Bluetooth
Conguraon Manager soware that is included with your Bluetooth adapter (e.g., COM 10). This is the COM Port through which the
CR3600 will connect.

The CR3600 needs only minimum maintenance to operate. The ps below for maintenance suggesons.
Cleaning the CR3600
The CR3600 window should be clean to allow the best performance of the device. The window is the clear plasc piece inside the
head of the reader. Avoid touching the window. Your CR3600 uses CMOS technology that is much like a digital camera. A dirty
window may stop the CR3600 from reading barcodes.
If the window becomes dirty, clean it with a so, non-abrasive cloth or a facial ssue (no loons or addives) that has been
moistened with water. A mild detergent may be used to clean the window, but the window should be wiped with a water moistened
cloth or ssue aer using the detergent.
The following agents are approved to clean a Code barcode reader:
1) Alcohol Wipes
2) Clorox® Non-Bleach Disenfecng Wipes
3) Clorox Bleach Soluon (10% Clorox bleach, 90% tap water)
4) Medical DiAirKem
5) Sani-Cloth® HB, Super Sani-Cloth® Germicidal, Sani-Cloth® Plus Germicidal Disposable Wipes
6) Virex® II Disinfectant Cleaner
