   5IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION  Some of the following information may not apply to your particular product. However, as with any electronic product, you should observe safety precautions when you use this product.   Save this manual : it contains important safety information and operating instructions.  Before using this product, please follow and adhere to all warnings, safety, and operating instructions located on the product and in this User ’s Manual.  Do Not expose the product to water or moisture.  Do Not expose the product to extreme hot or cold temperatures.  Do Not expose the product to open flames.  Do Not allow objects to fall on, or liquids to spill on the product.  Use only Original Accessories. Damage from the use of non-approved accessories will void your phone warranty.  Connect the approved charger only to designed power sources as marked on the product.  To reduce the risk of damage, remove the electrical cord from an outlet by pulling the charger rather than the cord.  Make sure the electric cord is located accordingly, so that it will not be subjected to damage.  To reduce the risk of electric shock, unplug the product from the power source before attempting any cleaning. Once unplugged, use a soft cloth dampened with water.  DANGER : Never alter the cord or plug. If the plug does not fit into the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician. Improper connection can result electric shock.
   6 Do Not attempt to disassemble the product – doing so will void the warranty. This product does not contain consumer-serviceable components. Service should be performed only by Authorized Service Centers.  Do Not remove the antenna. A detached antenna may be a choking hazard for children.  Do Not allow battery to be placed inside the mouth. Electrolytes could be released and may be toxic if swallowed.
   7GETTING TO KNOW YOUR PHONE   LED Indicator   : Flashes to indicate an incoming call or message. It also lights up (flashes) when you turn on the phone.  Backlit LCD Screen   : The LCD screen contains three areas; - The top line displays indication about your phone’s operating mode. - Two lines in the middle are the display areas for numbers and characters. - The bottom line displays menus.  Menu Keys (  / ) : This key performs several useful functions. - During incoming calls, press it to answer the incoming call. - In Standby mode, press it briefly to access Main Menu and Select Menu. - When navigating a menu, press it to select the highlighted selection.  SMS Key ( ) : When in Standby Mode, press this key to access Message Menu items.  Navigation Key () : This key allows you to navigate the phone’s variable functionality and useful shortcut.  Microphone    : Your typical voice microphone for conversation and you can also mute the microphone during conversation by pressing “MENU” “4” “5”.  Accessories Connector   : The location where you connect your charging device. It can also be used to connect wireless data device or hands-free car kit.  CLR Key   : This key is used to erase numbers or characters you may have entered incorrectly, or to return to a previous screen. - To erase one character from the display screen, briefly press it once. - To erase all of them, hold it for one second. - To back up one menu level, press it once. - To return to Standby Mode, hold it for one second.
   8- During a call, press it to control earpiece volume.  END/  Key   : Press this key to disconnect a call or to return to Standby Mode from any menu. Press and hold this key to turn the phone On or Off.  SEND Key   : This key performs several useful functions. - Dial a number and press it to connect. - Press it once to redial the last outgoing number.   Numeric Keys  : These keys are to dial and to input numbers and characters.  * : This key performs several useful functions. - Change bells to vibration - Use as navigation key.  #   : This key performs several useful functions. - Use as instance phone lock. - Use as navigation key.  Antenna
   9DISPLAY INDICATORS Display indicators appear across the bottom of your phone’s LCD screen. These display indicators (or icons) will vary based on your phone’s operating modes.   Signal strength : This icon shows your current signal strength. More lines indicate more signal strength. Five lines indicate maximum strength, and one line indicates least strength.  No service indicator : This icon indicates your phone cannot find a signal because you’re outside a service area. When this is displayed, you cannot make or receive calls. Wait a little while for a signal or move into an open area.  Roaming : This icon indicates you are “roaming” on to other carrier’s service area. But you must register the roaming service.  Vibrator on : This icon means that an incoming call will vibrate the phone rather than ring it or before/after the phone ring. It also means that your phone is on Etiquette mode. An incoming call will vibrate the phone rather than ring it. This feature is good for quiet situations where you don’t want your ringer to disturb anyone.  Message indicator : This icon indicates you have message(s) waiting. Press SMS Menu button to see the message menu, or press and hold to be connected to voicemail.  Alarm on : This icon means that you set the alarm On.  Battery strength : This icon shows the level of your battery charge. The more black bars you see the greater the charge. When the battery becomes very low, an empty box appears and the phone flashes an alert.
   10 BATTERY INFORMATION  Your phone comes with a partially charged, rechargeable Li-ion battery so that you can use the phone immediately after it is activated.  Installing the Battery.   To insert the battery into your phone: 1. Remove the battery compartment cover of the phone by sliding it down. 2. Put the battery pack into the battery cradle. 3. Replace the battery compartment cover by sliding it up towards the phone. 4. Charge the battery pack for at least 3 hours prior to using it.  Charging the Battery.   You can tell whether or not your battery needs to be recharged by checking the upper-right corner of your phone’s display.  When the battery charge level gets low, the battery sensor will let you know by blinking the battery icon and making audible warning tone. If the battery level gets too low, the phone will be turned off automatically. When this happens while you were receiving incoming call or making outgoing call, the call will be automatically disconnected. Watch the battery strength icon and make sure your battery is adequately charged to avoid such situation.  Charging with the Traveler’s Charger.  Use traveler ’s charges certified only. Using any other unauthorized accessories may be dangerous and will invalidate the phone warranty if said accessories caused damage or defected the phone.  To Charge the Battery using the Traveler’s Charger:  - Plug the power cord of the charger into a wall outlet. - Insert the connector of the charger at the bottom of the phone. - Charging status will be shown on the display. - Note) Make sure you put the connector of the charger into the phone correctly.
   11 Failure to do so may cause damages to the phone.  A completely discharged standard battery recharges fully in approximately tbd hours. The extended battery recharges in approximately tbd hours. Leaving your phone turned on during charging, or charging batteries simultaneously, will increase charging time. Leaving the battery in the charger once it is fully charged does not harm the battery.   WARNING After the battery is fully charged, the battery can be discharged. If the charger is connected to your phone for over 3hrs, please pull the plug from the phone and recharge the battery even if the battery is fully charged.  Turning your phone on and off.  When you’re ready to turn on your phone, press and hold “END/ ” until the display is turned on and the phone makes the sound. When the phone has found a signal, the “ ” icon appears. Once the phone is turned on, it enters Standby mode and you are able to make and receive calls.  To turn your phone off, press and hold “END/ ” until the display is turned off and the phone makes the sounds. Then the display will go blank. When the phone is turned off, nothing is displayed on screen.  Note: If “END/ ” is pressed for less than one second, the phone will not be turned off. This function prevents your phone from being turned off accidentally.   Standby Mode.  Standby is the most basic state of your phone. The phone goes into standby mode soon after you turn it on, or whenever you briefly press “END/ ”. When your phone is in Standby Mode, you will typically see the banner (that’s the message displayed when you turn on your phone). If you enter a phone number, you press “SEND” to complete the call, or press “STO ( )” to save it in the internal phone book.  Power Save Mode   Your phone comes with a Power Save feature that will automatically be activated if your phone is unable to find a signal after 15 minutes of searching. While this feature is active, the phone’s
   12 battery power is conserved. The phone will automatically recheck for a signal periodically. To manually force the phone to recheck for a signal, press any key. A message on the display will let you know when the phone is operating in Power Save Mode.  Conversation Mode.  You can place and answer calls only when your phone is turned on. During a call, the phone is in Conversation Mode.
   13 BASIC FUNCTIONS  1. Making a Call. In standby mode, enter the phone number (up to 32 digits) by pressing the digit keys. The phone number is displayed from left to right. Press “SEND”. The phone places the call to the entered phone number (if service is available).  2. Ending a Call. To end a call, press “END/ ”. The call time (length of the call) will be displayed along with the name or number of the called party (if available). The phone returns to Standby Mode automatically.   3. Answering a Call. To answer an incoming call, press any key if “Any Key Answer” is set. (Please refer to “6. Any Key Answer” in “III. Phone Setting”. If your phone is registered in Caller ID, a caller’s phone number will be displayed on screen. If caller’s number is stored in Phone Book, the caller’s name will be displayed.  4. Correcting Dialing Mistakes. To correct a misdialed digit, press “CLR” to erase one digit at a time. You can erase all the digits at once by pressing “CLR” and holding it down for at least one second.  5. Storing Phone Numbers Phone numbers for frequently used services are pre-programmed into your phone. To store a number,  - Enter a phone number and press “STO ( )”. Or in standby mode, press “Menu ( )” , “1. Phone Book” and “3. Phone # Store”. - Enter the location number you want to store in. - Press “” and enter the name. - Press “” and enter the phone number. - Press “” and scroll “” or “(*)” / “(#)” to choose Group type. - Press “Sto ( )” to store.
   14 6. Adjusting Earpiece Volume During a Call To adjust earpiece volume during a call, press “” to increase or decrease earpiece volume.    7. Using Caller ID If you registered Caller Identification Service to your service provider, you can see the sender ’s phone number. Also the phone will store received, missed and dialed numbers up to 20. If you want to redial the number you dialed, received and missed. simply press “SEND”, - Then you can see up to 20 numbers on logs orderly in timely bases. - Press “View ( )” key to see the time you called and the number. - Simply press “SEND” key to redial the number you sele ct. Note :) If you didn’t register Caller ID service with your service provider or if you didn’t receive any calls, your phone will not show any missed calls.  8. Speed Dialing Once you stored the phone numbers in your phone by using Phone Book, you can make a call by pressing One- or Two-Touch Dialing. Press a location number you stored, then your phone will automatically connect you to the phone number you wish to call.  9. Short Cut a. Keypad Lock : Press and hold “0” for a second when it’s in Standby Mode, and the keypad will be locked. To unlock the keypad, press “*” and “#” orderly. b. Phone Lock : press and hold “#” for a second when it’s in Standby Mode, and the phone will be locked. To release the phone, press “Menu ( )” and enter your password. c. Etiquette Mode : Press and hold “*” for a second. Then the phone will turn to vibration mode. To release etiquette mode, press and hold “*” again. d. Phone Number Search : Press “” of navigation keys. Then all the phone numbers you stored will be shown alphabetically. e. Calendar : Press “”. Then the phone will show you a calendar. f. Alarm  : Press “CLR”. Then you can set an alarm.  10 Current Time Setting
   15 If you are in AMPS service area or out of no service area, your phone cannot show you a correct time. In this case, you can set the time as below: - Press “OPER ( )” in standby mode. - Enter the date and time orderly and press “OK ( )” to save.
   16 MENUS  I. PHONE BOOK  1. Call List a. Missed Call To see the phone number that you missed, press “MENU ( )”, “1. Phonebook”, “1. Call List” and “1. Missed”. Then you can see the last 20 numbers you missed.   Scroll “” to select a number and press “VIEW( )” to see the time you received. Or press “DEL ( )” to delete. If you want to store it in the Phone Book, press “SAVE ( )”. Or if you want to send a message to this number, press “SMS ( )”. To know how to store a number, see “Storing Phone Numbers” on page      . Press “SEND” key to redial. b. Incoming Call To see the phone number that you received, press “MENU ( )”, “1. Phonebook”, “1. Call List” and “2. Incoming”. Then you can see the last 20 numbers you received.   Scroll “” to select a number and press “VIEW( )” to see the time you received. Or press “DEL ( )” to delete. If you want to store it in the Phone Book, press “SAVE ( )”. Or if you want to send a message to this number, press “SMS ( )”. To know how to store a number, see “Storing Phone Numbers” on page      . Press “SEND” key to redial. c. Outgoing Call To see the phone number that you dialed, press “MENU ( )”, “1. Phonebook”, “1. Call List” and “2. Outgoing”. Then you can see the last 20 numbers you received.   Scroll “” to select a number and press “VIEW( )” to see the time you dialed. Or press “DEL ( )” to delete. If you want to store it in the Phone Book, press “SAVE ( )”. Or if you want to send a message to this number, press “SMS ( )”. To know how to store a number, see “Storing Phone Numbers” on page      . Press “SEND” key to redial.
   17 2. Phone Book Search You can go to phonebook list by pressing “” to see all the phone number list you stored alphabetically. Also you can fine a phone number according to Name, Location Number, Phone Number or Group. a. Search by name You can find a number you stored in Phone Book by entering a name. - Press “Menu ( )” , “1. Phone Book”, “2. Search” and select “1. Name”. - Enter the name you want to call. - If you don’t remember the full name, just enter the first letter of the name. Your phone will show you all similar names. - Press “SEND” to dial. - Or press “View ( )” to edit or “Del ( )” to delete. b. Search by location You can find a number you stored in Phone Book by locations. - Press “Menu ( )” , “1. Phone Book”, “2. Search” and select “2. Address”. - Enter the location number you want to find and press “Ok”. - Press “SEND” to dial. Or press “View ( )” to edit or “Del ( )” to delete. - If a number is not stored in the location, “Empty Location” is shown on the display. c. Search by Number You can find a number ’s information you stored in Phone Book by entering a phone number. - Press “Menu ( )” , “1. Phone Book”, “2. Search” and select “3. Phone Number”. - Enter the number you want to see and press “Ok”. Then you will see the name and location. - Press “SEND” to dial. Or press “View ( )” to edit or “Del ( )” to delete. - If the number is not stored in the location, a warning tone is sounded and “No Number Matches” is shown on the display. d. Search by group You can find a number you stored in Phone Book. - Press “Menu ( )” , “1. Phone Book”, “2. Search” and select “4. Group”. - Scroll “(*)” or “(#)” to select “No Group”, “Family”, “Friends”, “Business” or “Company”. - Once you select “No Group”, “Family”, “Friends”, “Business” or “Company”, you can see the numbers you stored and defined only as “No Group”, “Family”, “Friends”, “Business” or “Company”.
   18 - Place  the cursor on the number you want to dial by scrolling “” and “”. - Press “SEND” to dial. Or press “View ( )” to edit or “Del ( )” to delete.  3. Storing Phone Numbers Phone numbers for frequently used services are pre-programmed into your phone. To store a number,  - Press “Menu ( )” , “1. Phone Book” and “3. Phone # Store”. Or you can press “Menu ( )”. - Enter the location number you want to store in. - Press “” and enter the name. - Press “” and enter the phone number. - Press “” and scroll “” or “(*)” / “(#)” to choose Group type. - Press “Sto ( )” to store.    4. Call Time View The “Call Time” function displays the approximate duration of last call in hours, minutes, and seconds and the total number of calls made under the current phone number on display.   - Last Call : Press “Menu ( )” , “1. Phone Book”, “4: Call Time” and “1: Last Call”. Then your phone will indicate the approximate duration of last call you made in minutes and seconds. - Home Calls : Press “Menu ( )” , “1. Phone Book”, “4: Call Time” and “2:. Home Calls”. Then your phone will indicate the approximate total time in hours and minutes the phone has been used in your provider’s service area. - Roam Calls : Press “Menu ( )” , “1. Phone Book”, “4: Call Time” and “3: Roam Calls”. Then your phone will indicate the approximate total time in hours and minutes the phone has been used in roaming area. - All Calls : Press “Menu ( )” , “1. Phone Book”, “4: Call Time” and “4: All Calls”. Then your phone will indicate the approximate total time in hours and minutes the phone has been used at home and the roam area.  5. My Phone Number To see your phone number, Press “Menu ( )” , “1. Phone Book” and “5: My Phone Num.”. Then your phone number will appear on screen.
   19  6. Delete Phone Book If you want to clear call lists, which you missed, called, received and stored in Phone Book. - Press “Menu ( )” , “1. Phone Book” and choose “6. Delete All”. - Scroll “” and choose call list you want to delete by press “SEL ( )”. - Press “Ok ( )” to erase.
   20 II. MESSAGE SERVICES  Your phone can receive two types of message services – text messages and voice mails – and it can send out text messages (SMS: Short Messaging Service), if these services are available from your service provider. If you subscribe to either one or both services, callers can leave you text messages or leave messages in voice mail. Your service provider then transmits the text messages and voice mail  notifications to your phone.  1. Text Message Services (SMS: Short Messaging Service) The text message service is depended to the system used by your service provider.   Your service provider transmits the messages to your phone. If your phone is turned on, it can receive the messages as described below. If your phone is not turned on, your service provider retains the messages and transmits them again later. When a new text message is received, your phone makes an alert tone or vibrates and   is displayed on screen. If you read the new message,   will disappear. Note) Your phone holds up to TBD messages or a  maximum of TBD KB of message text.  a. Read Text Messages If your phone is turned on while the text message is coming through, it will notify you by either making the alert sound or by vibrating and   will be displayed on screen. You can read the message immediately by pressing “ ” key.   To read a new message: - Press “Menu ( )”, “2. Message” and “1. Inbox”. - Select messages and press “OK ( )” to see. Then the received time, the sender, the sender’s phone number, and the new text message will appear on screen. - You can read the text message by scrolling “” keys. - If you want to reread the message, Press “Menu ( )”, “2. Message” and “1. Inbox”. Then you can see the message list on screen. Select the message you wish to read again and press “OK ( )”. Or press “DEL ( )” to delete. - While reading a message, press “MENU ( )” to reply or forward this message or to store a phone number or message contents. Or press “DEL ( )” to delete. - Choose  “1. Reply” to reply the message. Edit the message and press “YES ( )”. Then you can send a message as the same manner as “2. Send Text Message” on page __”. - Choose  “2. Forward”. Edit the message and press “YES ( )”. And enter the number you want to forward this message. - Choose  “3. Number Store”. Then you can store a phone number received with the message as the same manner as “3. Phone # Store” in “I. Phone Book” on page ____.
   21 - Choose  “4. Contents Store”. The you can store a message content as the same manner as “1. Message Write” in “3. Message Box” in “II. Message” on page ____. - If you wish to call the sender back, press “SEND ” while you are reading the message. Then “Call back #” appears on screen.  b. Send Text Message You can send the text messages through your phone. To edit and send the text message, press “Menu ( )”, “2. Message” and “2. Outbox”.   Send New Message - Press “1. New Message”. - Write a message and press “OK ( )”. - Enter the received number you wish to call, and press [OK] (). (You can send to up to 10 different phone numbers. - Then your phone number is displayed for the receive number as a call back number. If you want to edit, enter the number you want. - Choose  “Normal”, “Interactive”, “Urgent” or “Emergency” by scrolling “” and press “OK ( )”. Then the message will be sent out. - If the phone fails to send out the message, the phone will show you the phone number that the phone failed to send to.   Note) You can also choose various received number from Phone Book, recent phone numbers you sent to or from Group. When the phone ask you to enter the phone number you wish to send to, press “SRCH ( )” choose “1. Recent Number”, “2. Name Search”, “Group Search”, “4. Group 1” or “Group 2”.   Send from Message Box You can also send a message from a message box. - Press “2. Message box” and choose a message you want to send out by pressing “OK ( )”. Then whole contents will be shown on the display. You can edit or add a message directly on display. - Following manner to send out is the same as “1. New Message” above. - How to store a message box, refer to “3. Message Box” in “II. Message” on page __.
   22  Send Message That You Already Sent Out You can also send a message that you already sent out. - Press “3. Sent Message” and choose a message you want to send out by pressing “OK ( )”. Then whole contents will be shown on the display.   - Press “MENU ( )” to choose “1. Forwarding”, “2. Number Store” or “3. Contents Store”. - How to forward a message and how to store a phone number and contents, refer to “1. Reading Text Message” on page ___.   Group Edit You can preset phone numbers that you want to send SMS at the same time by using Group function. The total number of groups can be up to 2. To set the group,   - Press “4. Group Edit” and choose “Group 1” or “Group 2” by pressing “OK ( )”. - Enter a new phone number and press “” to move. - If you want to add a phone number from a recent number you sent out or Phone Book, press “SRCH ( )” choose “1. Recent Number”, “2. Name Search” or “Group Search”. - If you want to edit a phone number, place a cursor on the phone number you want to edit. And press “CRL” to clear a number and enter a new number again. - You can add up to 10 different numbers in one Group.  c. Message Box You can store a message content that is used frequently. To write a new message content, - Press “Menu ( )”, “2. Message”, “3. Message Box” and “1. Write Message” - Enter a message content and press “OK ( )” to save. You can store up to 5 messages. - To see the message box list, press “Menu ( )”, “2. Message”, “3. Message Box” and “2. List View”. If you want to edit, press “OK ( )”. Or if you want to delete, press “DEL ( )”.  d. SMS Setting   Message Alert You can set message alerts in 3 different types (No Alert, Bell, Vibration). - Press “Menu ( )”, “2. Message”, “4. Setting”, “1. Message Alert” and “1. Alert Type”. Select “No Alert”, “Bell” or “Vibrator” by scrolling “” and press “Ok ()” to set. - To select a bell type, press “Menu ( )”, “2. Message”, “4. Setting”, “1. Message
   23 Alert” and “2. Bell Select”. Scroll “” to choose a bell type and press “Ok ()” to save. - To choose a duration of a message alert, press “Menu ( )”, “2. Message”, “4. Setting”, “1. Message Alert” and “3. Duration”. Select “No Duration”, “Every 2 Min.” or “Every 5 Min.” by scrolling “” and press “Ok ()” to save.   Direct View If you want to see the message immediately when you receive SMS, - Press “Menu ( )”, “2. Message”, “4. Setting” and “2. Direct View”. - Choose  “Off”, “Only Number” or “Full Message” by scrolling “” and press “Ok ()” to save.   Delivery Ack. To set Delivery ACK, press “Menu ( )”, “2. Message”, “4. Setting” and “3. Delivery Ack.”. And choose “On” or “Off” and press “Ok” to set.  2. Voice Mail Service Your phone can receive voice mail notification when it is turned on. If your service provider transmits the notification and your phone is turned off, you will receive the notification when you turn your phone on. If your phone is turned on when it receives a voice mail notice, your phone makes an alert sound or vibrates and   is shown on screen. Once you listen to the new voice message,   will disappeared. Note) Sometimes   wouldn’t disappear even if you checked the message. It depends on the condition of the service providers’ system. If your phone is turned on when it receives a voice message, your phone will make the alert sound or vibrates and   will be displayed on screen. To listen to a voice message: - Press “Menu ( )”, “2. Number Store” to store a phone number received with a voice mail. - If you want to delete the message, press “DEL ( )” while you are reading the voice mail list. - If you want to call the sender back, simply press “SEND” while you are listening to the voice mail.  3. Messages Delete You can delete a message one by one or delete all messages at once. To delete a message; - Press “Del ( )” while you are reading a message or on the message list display. - If you want to delete all the message you received and sent, Message Box, Group 1 or Group 2. Also you can delete them all.   - Press “Menu ( )”, “2. Message” and “6. Delete All”. Choose “Inbox”, “Outbox”, “Message Box”, “Group 1”, “Group 2” or “Delete All” by scrolling “” and press “SEL ( )” to select. - Press “OK ( )”. Then the phone will ask you “Delete selected items?”.   - Press “OK ( )” to erase.
   25 III. PHONE SETTING  1. Wallpaper You can have the phone display various welcome greeting on stand-by mode. To edit the greeting for the display on stand-by mode: a. Wall Paper Type - Press “Menu ( )”, “3. Phone Setting”, “1. Wall Paper” and “1. Paper Type”. - Scroll “” to choose a wallpaper and press “Ok ( )” to save. b. Banner Edit - Press “Menu ( )”, “3. Phone Setting”, “1. Wall Paper”, “2. Greeting Edit” and “EDIT ( )”. - Edit the banner and press “OK ( )” to set.  2. Language You can set the phone to 2 different languages. (Spanish, English). - Press “Menu ( )”, “3. Phone Setting” and “2. Language”. - Select “Spanish” or “English” and press “OK ( )” to save.  3. Back Light You can set backlighting of LCD display and the keypad automatically turned off in 5, 15 and 30 seconds or set always off. To set back light; - Press “Menu ( )”, “3. Phone Setting” and “3. Backlight”. - Select “Always Off”, “5 seconds”, “15 seconds” or “30 seconds” and press “OK ( )” to save.  4. LCD Contrast You can adjust LCD contrast. - Press “Menu ( )”, “3. Phone Setting” and “4. Contrast”. - Scroll “” and “” to chose 5 steps of LCD contrast and press “Ok ( )” to set.  5. Auto Answer The “Auto Answer” function lets the phone answer the call automatically when the call is coming in. It helps you to answer the call while you are driving. To set “Auto Answer”: - Press “Menu ( )”, “3. Phone Setting” and “5. Auto Answer”. - Select “off”, “Always” or “Ear-Mic”.

Any Key Answer “Any Key Answer” function allows the call to be answered by pressing any key on the phone or by pressing “SEND” key only. To set “Anykey Answer”; - Press “Menu ( )”, “3. Phone Setting” and “6. Any Key Answer”. - Select “on” or “off” and press “OK ( )” to set.  7. Auto Redial The “Auto Redial” function redials the number automatically after 5 seconds if the call does not go through. To set “Auto Redial”: - Press “Menu ( )”, “3. Phone Setting” and “7. Auto Redial”. - Select “on” or “off” and press “OK ( )” to set.  8. DTMF Tone  You can set DTMF tone length to either normal or long. - Press “Menu ( )”, “3. Phone Setting” and “8. DTMF Length”. - Select “normal” or “long” and press “OK ( )” to set.  9. Auto Keypad Lock If you set “Auto Keypad Lock” as “on”, the keypad will automatically locked after 30 seconds when you don’t use. - Press “Menu ( )”, “3. Phone Setting” and “9. Auto Keypad Lock”. - Select “on” or “off” and press “OK ( )” to set. - If you want to release the keypad lock, press “*” and “#” on a standby mode.
   27 IV. SOUND MENU  1. Incoming Rings You can set the alert for incoming calls in 5 different ways. (Bell, Vibration, BellàVibration, VibrationàBell). - Press “Menu ( )”, “4. Sound” and “1. Ring Type  This option enables you to set the sound of ringing in 10 different bells and 10 different melodies. - Press “Menu ( )”, “4. Sound” and “2. Ring Type” and choose “1. Bell Type” or “2. Melody Select”. - Scroll “” to select. While you scroll, you can hear bells and melodies. - Press “OK ( )” to set.  3. Roam Ringer “Roam Ringer” option allows you to hear a distinctive ringing when you receive a call in other carriers’ service area, which you registered for a roaming service. - Press “Menu ( )”, “4. Sound” and “3. Roam Ringer”. - Choose  “on” or “off and press “OK ( )” to set.  4. Volume Control Volume  option allows you to adjust the ring volume, key tone volume, alert volume and earpiece volume.  - Press “Menu ( )”, “4. Sound” and “4. Volume”. - Select “1. Ring Volume”, “2. Keytone Volume”, “3. Alert Volume” or “4. Ear Volume”. - Scroll “” to increase or decrease the volume level and press “OK ( )” to set.    29 V. SECURITY FUNCTION  Your phone provides many security options, including a user-programmable lock code and call restriction features. To access the Security Menu in Standby Mode, press “Menu ( )” and “5. Security” and enter the four-digit password.  Note: The password is “0000” if you don’t have your phone number yet or the last 4 digits of your number if you already have your phone number. If you want to change the password, see “Changing Password” on page   .  1. Phone Lock If you lock the phone, it limits all outgoing calls except calls to the three hard-coded emergency numbers. You can lock the phone manually or set the phone to lock automatically when it is turned on. When the phone is in Lock Mode, you can answer incoming calls, but you must unlock the phone to place the outgoing calls (except to emergency numbers). - Press “Menu ( )” and “5. Security” and enter the password. - Press “1. Phone Lock”. - Select “never”, “on power up” or “now” and press “OK ( )” to set.  Notes 1) “Now” – You must unlock the phone to place outgoing calls. “On Power Up” – The phone is locked automatically when it is turned on. “Never” – The phone is unlocked. Note 2) You can simply lock your keypad by pressing and holding “#” on Standby Mode.  2. Changing Password If you want to change the password: - Press “Menu ( )” and “5. Security” and enter the password. - Press “2. Password” and enter the new 4-digit password. - Press “OK ()”, then you can see “RE-ENTER NEW CODE  _ _ _ _”. - Enter the new password again and press “OK ( )” to set.  3. Restrict Sending Calls   “Send Restrict” allows you to set your phone to restrict outgoing calls. - Press “Menu ( )” and “5. Security” and enter the password. - Press “3. Send Restrict”.
   30 - Choose  “on” or “off” and press “OK ( )” to set.  4. Voice Privacy   You can set “Voice Privacy” on or off. - Press “Menu ( )” and “5. Security” and enter the password. - Press “4. Voice Privacy.” - Choose  “on” or “off” and press “OK ( )” to set.  5. Network Change You can choose the network CDMA or Analog. - Press “Menu ( )” and “5. Security” and enter the password. - Press “5. Network”. - Scroll “” to chose “Automatic”, “Only CDMA”, “Only Analog” or “Temp Analog”. - Press “OK ( )” to set.  6. Initialization “Initialization” lets you initialize your phone. If you want to initialize your phone, - Press “Menu ( )” and “5. Security” and enter the password. - Press “6. Initialize” and choose “1. Part Initial” or “2. Full Initial”. - Choose  “on” or “off” and press “OK ( )” to set. - Then your phone display “– Initializing –”. - And your phone will be turned off and turned on automatically. Note) Part Initial – The phone is initialized except PIM, Phone Book and Messages.      Full Initial – The Phone is initialized including PIM, Phone Book and Messages.
   31 VI. PIM (Personal Information Management)  Your phone support you various additional functions, such as “Alarm”, “Schedule”, “Calendar”, “Calculator”, “Memo” and “World Time”.  1. Alarm You can set the 24-hour alarm to sound an alert at the set time, when your phone is on. If the phone is off at the alarm set time, the alarm will not sound. To set the alarm, press “Menu ( )” and “6. PIM” and choose “1. Alarm”. - Choose  “Alarm 1” or “Alarm 2” and press “OK ( )”. - Enter the time and choose AM or PM by pressing “AM PM ( )”. - Press “” and choose the alarm type as “Disable”, “Once”, “Mon~Fri”, “Mon~Sat” and “Daily” by scrolling “* / #  ”. - Press “” and select the bell type by scrolling “”. - Once you finish to set the alarm, press “OK ( )” to set. You can set up to 2 different alarms. Note) Disable – Alarm do not work although you set the time. Once  – Alarm will sound an alert at the set time once. Mon~Fri – Alarm will sound an alert from Monday to Friday. Mon~Sat – Alarm will sound an alert from Monday to Saturday. Daily – Alarm will sound an alert at the set time.  2. Schedule Schedule Manager option supports you to manage your schedule with your phone. To set or edit a schedule, press “Menu ( )” and “6. PIM” and choose “2. Schedule”.  a. Make Schedule :   - Select “1. Make”. Then you can see the calendar of this month on the display. - Scroll “” and “* / #” to choose the date and press “SEL ( )”.   - Enter the time (hour, minute and AM/PM) and press “OK  ( )”. - Enter a memo and press “OK  ( )”. - Scroll “” to choose a alarm type and press “OK ( )” to save.
   32 b. Schedule List : You can see the schedule list you stored. - Select “2. Schedule List”. Then you can see the schedule list orderly. - If you want to edit the schedule, scroll “” and press “OK ( )” to choose. - Choose  “1: Contents”, “2: Time” or “3: Alarm Type” and press “OK ( )”. - Press “EDIT ( )”. Edit contents, time or alarm type and press “OK ( )” to save. - Or you can delete a schedule by simply pressing “DEL”.   c. Schedule Delete : You can delete all schedules. - Select “3. Delete”. - Then your phone will ask you “All Schedule Erase?”.   - Press “OK ( )” to erase.    3. Calendar You can use your phone as a calendar. Press “Menu ( )”, “6. PIM” and choose “3. Calendar View”. Or you can simply press “” on the standby mode.  4. Calculator You can use your phone as a calculator. Press “Menu ( )”, “6. PIM” and choose “4. Calculator”.  5. Memo Memo option supports you to manage your daily jobs to do with your phone. To set or edit Memo, press “Menu ( )” and “6. PIM” and choose “5. Memo”. a. Write Memo :   - Choose  “1. New Write”. - Input or edit your jobs to do and press “OK ( )” to save. b. Memo List :   - Choose  “2. View List”. Then your phone will show you all memo list that you stored. - Select by scrolling “” and “” and press “OK ( )” to see. - Then you will see the memo and time you stored.   - If you want to edit, press “EDIT ( )”. c. Delete :   - Select “3. Delete”. Then you will see “All Memo Delete?”. - Press “OK ( )” to delete all memos. - Or if you want to delete Memo selectively, choose memo lists that you want to delete.
   33 - And press “Delete ( )”.  6. World Time View Your phone shows you world 77 cities’ current time. To access the world time view; - Press “Menu ( )” and “3. PIM” and choose “6. World Time”. - Use “” or “* / #*” to find cities. Note) If you are in AMPS or no service area and haven’t set the time, the phone will not show you world time View.

Busy”. - Enter the phone number that you want to forward and press “OK ( )”. - If you want to reset, press “RESET ( )”. c. No Answer : if you want to forward a call when you don’t answer. - Press “Menu ( )” and “7. Call Function”, “1. Call Forward” and “3. No Answer”. - Enter the phone number that you want to forward and press “OK ( )”. - If you want to reset, press “RESET ( )”. d. Unreachable Call Forward : if you want to forward a call when you are out of service area. - Press “Menu ( )” and “7. Call Function”, “1. Call Forward” and “4. Unreachable”. - Enter the phone number that you want to forward and press “OK ( )”. - If you want to reset, press “RESET ( )”. e. All Disable Call Forward : if you want to release all kinds of call forward. - Press “Menu ( )” and “7. Call Function”, “1. Call Forward” and “5. All Disable”. - Press “OK ( )”. Then the phone will ask you “Release Call Forward All?”. - Press “OK ( )” to release.  2. Call Waiting You have to register Call Waiting to your service provider prior to using this function. Caller Identification If you want to see the sender’s phone number, you have to register Caller ID to your service provider. How to set Caller ID in your phone; - Press “Menu ( )” and “7. Call Function”, “3. Caller ID”. - Choose  “disable” or “enable” and press “OK ( )” to save.

Service Access Number Edit If you want to set or edit an access number for additional services, such as “Unconditional, “Busy”, “No answer”, “Unreachable”, “Voice Mail”, “Call Waiting” and “Caller ID”; a. Message During a call, press “Menu ( )”, “2. Message” and choose “1. Inbox”, “2. Outbox”, “3. Message Box” or “4. Setting”. Then you can use Messages as same as “II. Messages”.  3. Phone Setting During a call, press “Menu ( )”, “3. Phone Setting” and choose “1. Back Light”, “2. LCD Contrast”, “3. Auto Answer”, “4. Anykey Answer”, “5. DTMF Length” or “6. Voice Privacy”. Then you can set your phone as same as “III. Phone Setting”.  4. Sound During a call, press “Menu ( )”, “4. Sound” and choose “1. Ear Volume”, “2. Mic Volume”, “3. Key Tone Volume”, “4.    37 ENTERING LETTERS & NUMBERS  You can enter letters, as well as numbers, when storing numbers and names into your phone or when sending out text messages (SMS : Short Messaging Service) by using your keypad. To enter letters, press the key associated with the letter you wish to enter until it appears on the screen (numbers also appear).  When you enter the letters, it automatically switches to ABC mode. The letters will be displayed in capital letters. 1. When   is appeared on the right corner of the bottom, you can enter a capital letter. 2. When   is appeared on the right corner of the bottom, you can enter a small letter. 3.
