IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
Some of the following information may not apply to your particular product. However, as with
any electronic product, you should observe safety precautions when you use this product.
Save this manual : it contains important safety information and operating instructions.
Before using this product, please follow and adhere to all warnings, safety, and operating
instructions located on the product and in this User ’s Manual.
Do Not expose the product to water or moisture.
Do Not expose the product to extreme hot or cold temperatures.
Do Not expose the product to open flames.
Do Not allow objects to fall on, or liquids to spill on the product.
Use only Original Accessories. Damage from the use of non-approved accessories will void
your phone warranty.
Connect the approved charger only to designed power sources as marked on the product.
To reduce the risk of damage, remove the electrical cord from an outlet by pulling the
charger rather than the cord.
Make sure the electric cord is located accordingly, so that it will not be subjected to damage.
To reduce the risk of electric shock, unplug the product from the power source before
attempting any cleaning. Once unplugged, use a soft cloth dampened with water.
DANGER : Never alter the cord or plug. If the plug does not fit into the outlet, have a
proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician. Improper connection can result electric
shock.
Do Not attempt to disassemble the product – doing so will void the warranty. This product
does not contain consumer-serviceable components. Service should be performed only by
Authorized Service Centers.
Do Not remove the antenna. A detached antenna may be a choking hazard for children.
Do Not allow battery to be placed inside the mouth. Electrolytes could be released and may
be toxic if swallowed.
GETTING TO KNOW YOUR PHONE
LED Indicator
: Flashes to indicate an incoming call or message. It also lights
up (flashes) when you turn on the phone.
Backlit LCD Screen
: The LCD screen contains three areas;
- The top line displays indication about your phone’s
operating mode.
- Two lines in the middle are the display areas for numbers
and characters.
- The bottom line displays menus.
M enu Keys (
: This key performs several useful functions.
- During incoming calls, press it to answer the incoming
call.
- In Standby mode, press it briefly to access Main Menu
and Select Menu.
- When navigating a menu, press it to select the highlighted
selection.
SMS Key ( )
: When in Standby Mode, press this key to access Message
Menu items.
Navigation Key (
: This key allows you to navigate the phone’s variable
functionality and useful shortcut.
Microphone
: Your typical voice microphone for conversation and you can
also mute the microphone during conversation by pressing
“MENU” “4” “5”.
Accessories Connector
: The location where you connect your charging device. It can
also be used to connect wireless data device or hands -free car
kit.
CLR Key
: This key is used to erase numbers or characters you may have
entered incorrectly, or to return to a previous screen.
- To erase one character from the display screen, briefly
press it once.
- To erase all of them, hold it for one second.
- To back up one menu level, press it once.
- To return to Standby Mode, hold it for one second.
- During a call, press it to control earpiece volume.
END/ Key
: Press this key to disconnect a call or to return to Standby
Mode from any menu. Press and hold this key to turn the
phone On or Off.
SEND Key
: This key performs several useful functions.
- Dial a number and press it to connect.
- Press it once to redial the last outgoing number.
Numeric Keys
: These keys are to dial and to input numbers and characters.

- Change bells to vibration
- Use as navigation key.
: This key performs several useful functions.
- Use as instance phone lock.
- Use as navigation key.
Antenna
DISPLAY INDICATORS
Display indicators appear across the bottom of your phone’s LCD screen. These display
indicators (or icons) will vary based on your phone’s operating modes.
Signal strength : This icon shows your current signal strength. More lines
indicate more signal strength. Five lines indicate maximum strength, and one
line indicates least strength.
No service indicator : This icon indicates your phone cannot find a signal
because you’re outside a service area. When this is displayed, you cannot make
or receive calls. Wait a little while for a signal or move into an open area.
Roaming : This icon indicates you are “roaming” on to other carrier’s service
area. But you must register the roaming service.
Vibrator on : This icon means that an incoming call will vibrate the phone rather
than ring it or before/after the phone ring.
It also means that your phone is on Etiquette mode. An incoming call will
vibrate the phone rather than ring it. This feature is good for quiet situations
where you don’t want your ringer to disturb anyone.
Message indicator : This icon indicates you have message(s) waiting.
Press SMS Menu button to see the message menu, or press and hold to be
connected to voicemail.
Alarm on : This icon means that you set the alarm On.
Battery strength : This icon shows the level of your battery charge. The more
black bars you see the greater the charge. When the battery becomes very low,
an empty box appears and the phone flashes an alert.
BATTERY INFORMATION
Your phone comes with a partially charged, rechargeable Li-ion battery so that you can use the
phone immediately after it is activated.
Installing the Battery.
To insert the battery into your phone:
1. Remove the battery compartment cover of the phone by sliding it down.
2. Put the battery pack into the battery cradle.
3. Replace the battery compartment cover by sliding it up towards the phone.
4. Charge the battery pack for at least 3 hours prior to using it.
Charging the Battery.
You can tell whether or not your battery needs to be recharged by checking the upper-right
corner of your phone’s display.
When the battery charge level gets low, the battery sensor will let you know by blinking the
battery icon and making audible warning tone. If the battery level gets too low, the phone will
be turned off automatically. When this happens while you were receiving incoming call or
making outgoing call, the call will be automatically disconnected. Watch the battery strength
icon and make sure your battery is adequately charged to avoid such situation.
Charging with the Trav eler’s Charger.
Use traveler ’s charges certified only. Using any other unauthorized accessories may be
dangerous and will invalidate the phone warranty if said accessories caused damage or defected
the phone.
To Charge the Battery using the Traveler’s Charger:
Plug the power cord of the charger into a wall outlet.
Insert the connector of the charger at the bottom of the phone.
Charging status will be shown on the display.
Note) Make sure you put the connector of the charger into the phone correctly.

Failure to do so may cause damages to the phone.
A completely discharged standard battery recharges fully in approximately tbd hours. The
extended battery recharges in approximately tbd hours. Leaving your phone turned on during
charging, or charging batteries simultaneously, will increase charging time. Leaving the battery
in the charger once it is fully charged does not harm the battery.
WARNING
After the battery is fully charged, the battery can be discharged. If the charger is
connected to your phone for over 3hrs, please pull the plug from the phone and recharge
the battery even if the battery is fully charged.
Turning your phone on and off.
When you’re ready to turn on your phone, press and hold “END/ ” until the display is turned
on and the phone makes the sound. When the phone has found a signal, the “ ” icon appears.
Once the phone is turned on, it enters Standby mode and you are able to make and receive calls.
To turn your phone off, press and hold “END/ ” until the display is turned off and the phone
makes the sounds. Then the display will go blank. When the phone is turned off, nothing is
displayed on screen.
Note: If “END/ ” is pressed for less than one second, the phone will not be turned off. This
function prevents your phone from being turned off accidentally.
Standby Mode.
Standby is the most basic state of your phone. The phone goes into standby mode soon after you
turn it on, or whenever you briefly press “END/ ”. When your phone is in Standby Mode, you
will typically see the banner (that’s the message displayed when you turn on your phone). If you
enter a phone number, you press “SEND” to complete the call, or press “STO (
the internal phone book.

Power Save Mode
Your phone comes with a Power Save feature that will automatically be activated if your phone
is unable to find a signal after 15 minutes of searching. While this feature is active, the phone’s

battery power is conserved.
The phone will automatically recheck for a signal periodically. To manually force the phone to
recheck for a signal, press any key. A message on the display will let you know when the phone
is operating in Power Save Mode.
Conversation Mode.
You can place and answer calls only when your phone is turned on. During a call, the phone is
in Conversation Mode.

BASIC FUNCTIONS
1. Making a Call.
In standby mode, enter the phone number (up to 32 digits) by pressing the digit keys. The phone
number is displayed from left to right. Press “SEND”. The phone places the call to the entered
phone number (if service is available).
2. Ending a Call.
To end a call, press “END/ ”. The call time (length of the call) will be displayed along with the
name or number of the called party (if available). The phone returns to Standby Mode
automatically.
3. Answering a Call.
To answer an incoming call, press any key if “Any Key Answer” is set. (Please refer to “6. Any
Key Answer” in “III. Phone Setting”. If your phone is registered in Caller ID, a caller’s phone
number will be displayed on screen. If caller ’s number is stored in Phone Book, the caller ’s
name will be displayed.
4. Correcting Dialing Mistakes.
To correct a misdialed digit, press “CLR” to erase one digit at a time. You can erase all the
digits at once by pressing “CLR” and holding it down for at least one second.
5. Storing Phone Numbers
Phone numbers for frequently used services are pre-programmed into your phone. To store a
number,
Enter a phone number and press “STO ( )”. Or in standby mode, press “Menu (
“1. Phone Book” and “3. Phone # Store”.
Enter the location number you want to store in.
Press “ ” and enter the name.
Press “ ” and enter the phone number.

6. Adjusting Earpiece Volume During a Call
To adjust earpiece volume during a call, press “
” to increase or decrease earpiece volume.
7. Using Caller ID
If you registered Caller Identification Service to your service provider, you can see the sender ’s
phone number. Also the phone will store received, missed and dialed numbers up to 20. If you
want to redial the number you dialed, received and missed. simply press “SEND”,
Then you can see up to 20 numbers on logs orderly in timely bases.
Press “View ( )” key to see the time you called and the number.
Simply press “SEND” key to redial the number you sele ct.
Note :) If you didn’t register Caller ID service with your service provider or if you didn’t
receive any calls, your phone will not show any missed calls.
8. Speed Dialing
Once you stored the phone numbers in your phone by using Phone Book, you can make a call
by pressing One- or Two-Touch Dialing.
Press a location number you stored, then your phone will automatically connect you to the
phone number you wish to call.
9. Short Cut
a. Keypad Lock : Press and hold “0” for a second when it’s in Standby Mode, and the
keypad will be locked. To unlock the keypad, press “*” and “#” orderly.
b. Phone Lock : press and hold “#” for a second when it’s in Standby Mode, and the
phone will be locked. To release the phone, press “Menu (
)” and enter your password.
c. Etiquette Mode : Press and hold “ *” for a second. Then the phone will turn to
vibration mode. To release etiquette mode, press and hold “ *” again.
d. Phone Number Search : Press “ ” of navigation keys. Then all the phone numbers
you stored will be shown alphabetically.
e. Calendar : Press “ ”. Then the phone will show you a calendar.
f. Alarm : Press “CLR”. Then you can set an alarm.

If you are in AMPS service area or out of no service area, your phone cannot show you a correct
time. In this case, you can set the time as below:

2. Phone Book Search
You can go to phonebook list by pressing “ ” to see all the phone number list you stored
alphabetically. Also you can fine a phone number according to Name, Loc ation Number, Phone
Number or Group.
a. Search by name
You can find a number you stored in Phone Book by entering a name.
Press “Menu ( )” , “1. Phone Book”, “2. Search” and select “1. Name”.
Enter the name you want to call.
If you don’t remember the full name, just enter the first letter of the name. Your phone
will show you all similar names.
Press “SEND” to dial.

)” to delete.
You can find a number you stored in Phone Book by locations.
Press “Menu ( )” , “1. Phone Book”, “2. Search” and select “2. Address”.
Enter the location number you want to find and press “Ok”.

If a number is not stored in the location, “Empty Location” is shown on the display.
c. Search by Number
You can find a number ’s information you stored in Phone Book by entering a phone number.
Press “Menu ( )” , “1. Phone Book”, “2. Search” and select “3. Phone Number”.
Enter the number you want to see and press “Ok”. Then you will see the name and
location.
Press “SEND” to dial. Or press “View ( )” to edit or “Del ( )” to delete.
If the number is not stored in the location, a warning tone is sounded and “No Number
Matches ” is shown on the display.
d. Search by group
You can find a number you stored in Phone Book.
Press “Menu (
)” , “1. Phone Book”, “2. Search” and select “4. Group”.
Scroll “ (*)” or “(#)
” to select “No Group”, “Family”, “Friends”, “Business” or
“Company”.
Once you select “No Group”, “Family”, “Friends”, “Business” or “Company”, you can
see the numbers you stored and defined only as “No Group”, “Family”, “Friends”,
“Business” or “Company”.

4. Call Time View
The “Call Time” function displays the approximate duration of last call in hours, minutes, and
seconds and the total number of calls made under the current phone number on display.
Last Call : Press “Menu ( )” , “1. Phone Book”, “4: Call Time” and “1: Last Call”.
Then your phone will indicate the approximate duration of last call you made in
minutes and seconds.
Home Calls : Press “Menu ( )” , “1. Phone Book”, “4: Call Time” and “2:. Home
Calls”. Then your phone will indicate the approximate total time in hours and minutes
the phone has been used in your provider ’s service area.
Roam Calls : Press “Menu ( )” , “1. Phone Book”, “4: Call Time” and “3: Roam
Calls”. Then your phone will indicate the approximate total time in hours and minutes
the phone has been used in roaming area.
All Calls : Press “Menu ( )” , “1. Phone Book”, “4: Call Time” and “4: All Calls”.
Then your phone will indicate the approximate total time in hours and minutes the
phone has been used at home and the roam area.
5. My Phone Number
To see your phone number, Press “Menu ( )” , “1. Phone Book” and “5: My Phone Num.”.
Then your phone number will appear on screen.

If you want to clear call lists, which you missed, called, received and stored in Phone Book.

MESSAGE SERVICES
Your phone can receive two types of message services – text messages and voice mails – and it
can send out text messages (SMS: Short Messaging Service), if these services are available from
your service provider. If you subscribe to either one or bot h services, callers can leave you text
messages or leave messages in voice mail. Your service provider then transmits the text
messages and voice mail notifications to your phone.
1. Text Message Services (SMS: Short Messaging Service)
The text message service is depended to the system used by your service provider.
Your service provider transmits the messages to your phone. If your phone is turned on, it can
receive the messages as described below. If your phone is not turned on, your service provider
retains the messages and transmits them again later.
When a new text message is received, your phone makes an alert tone or vibrates and
displayed on screen. If you read the new message,

Note) Your phone holds up to TBD messages or a maximum of TBD KB of message text.
a. Read Text Messages
If your phone is turned on while the text message is coming through, it will notify you by either
making the alert sound or by vibrating and

Choose “4. Contents Store”. The you can store a message content as the same manner
as “1. Message Write” in “3. Message Box” in “II. Message” on page ____.
If you wish to call the sender back, press “SEND ” while you are reading the message.
Then “Call back #” appears on screen.
b. Send Text Message
You can send the text messages through your phone. To edit and send the text message, press
“Menu (
)”, “2. Message” and “2. Outbox”.
Send New Message
- Press “1. New Message”.
Write a message and press “OK (
)”.
Enter the received number you wish to call, and press [OK] ( ). (You can send to up to
10 different phone numbers.
Then your phone number is displayed for the receive number as a call back number. If
you want to edit, enter the number you want.
Choose “Normal”, “Interactive”, “Urgent” or “Emergency” by scrolling “
” and
press “OK ( )”. Then the message will be sent out.
If the phone fails to send out the mes sage, the phone will show you the phone number
that the phone failed to send to.
Note) You can also choose various received number from Phone Book, recent phone
numbers you sent to or from Group. When the phone ask you to enter the phone number you
wish to send to, press “SRCH ( )” choose “1. Recent Number”, “2. Name Search”, “Group
Search”, “4. Group 1” or “Group 2”.
Send from Message Box
You can also send a message from a message box.
Press “2. Message box” and choose a message you want to send out by pressing “OK
( )”. Then whole contents will be shown on the display. You can edit or add a
message directly on display.
Following manner to send out is the same as “1. New Message” above.
How to store a message box, refer to “3. Message Box” in “II. Message” on page __.

Send Message That You Already Sent Out
You can also send a message that you already sent out.
Press “3. Sent Message” and choose a message you want to send out by pressing “OK
)”. Then whole contents will be shown on the display.

How to forward a message and how to store a phone number and contents, refer to “1.
Reading Text Message” on page ___.
Group Edit
You can preset phone numbers that you want to send SMS at the same time by using Group
function. The total number of groups can be up to 2. To set the group,
Press “4. Group Edit” and choose “Group 1” or “Group 2” by pressing “OK (
)”.
Enter a new phone number and press “ ” to move.
If you want to add a phone number from a recent number you sent out or Phone Book,
press “SRCH ( )” choose “1. Recent Number”, “2. Name Search” or “Group Search”.
If you want to edit a phone number, place a cursor on the phone number you want to
edit. And press “CRL” to clear a number and enter a new number again.
You can add up to 10 different numbers in one Group.
c. Message Box
You can store a message content that is used frequently. To write a new message content,
Press “Menu (
)”, “2. Message”, “3. Message Box” and “1. Write Message”
Enter a message content and press “OK (
To see the message box list, press “Menu (
)” to save. You can store up to 5 messages.

2. Voice Mail Service
Your phone can receive voice mail notification when it is turned on. If your service provider
transmits the notification and your phone is turned off, you will receive the notification when

phone to place the outgoing calls (except to emergency numbers).

You can enter letters, as well as numbers, when storing numbers and names into your phone or
when sending out text messages (SMS : Short Messaging Service) by using your keypad. To
enter letters, press the key associated with the letter you wish to enter until it appears on the
